The breakfast was the best we had in seven hotel stays in Italy. Shirley spoiled us with smiley face cappuccinos & a warm greeting every morning. The location could not have been better, we could walk 5-10 minutes to everything we wanted to see. The sitting area with light snacks & drinks was a nice touch, very comfortable setting. Pam was great checking us in & taking our luggage for storage. It was a beautiful hotel.

Although the location was great, the area could be loud at all hours of the night with tourists & with workers in the early morning.

This is among the best hotels we have stayed in. The staff were all very friendly and attentive, Lando, Ferdie, Jerry, Evelyn, Shirley. The room is always clean, there was enough variety of food at breakfast, the pistachio croissant was my favorite. We love how the hotel was decorated, its like travelling back in time. The location of the hotel dining area was amazing, its on top of a landmark archway. The stay in the hotel was a big part of our wonderful Florence experience.

The location and amenities were just as we expected. Breakfast was delicious and staff delightful. Grateful for elevators and a room phone that worked for local calls.

I hate to say it, but I am pretty sure housekeeping went through our gifts from our trip to Venice and helped themselves to one of my purchases. I know I should have put more emphasis to managing my belongings, but it's just so unfortunate this occurs.

Fantastic location, generous breakfast, comfortable lobby, very convenient parking arrangement and 24/7 access to fridge with water. Finally the staff was always available and helpful, doing the extra mile to make your experience as pleasant as possible.

Room was quite small and the bathroom alike, while it had an issue with water temperature mixing, being either cold or hot. The toiletries were very basic and overall the shower could be renovated and upgraded.

The breakfast was very good with a lot of variety. The location of the hotel is great, very central to all the sights and only a short distance to the train station.

The front office reception staff were quite cold, didn’t look happy and were not very welcoming or warm which is a pity as that is the first impression you receive. The cleaning and kitchen staff on the other hand were amazing and went out of their way to be helpful and were warm, welcoming and engaging.

The hotel room was sooo big and comfortable, so very clean, and the hotel in general is beautiful. The breakfast every day was lovely and had a variety of hot and cold foods to choose from and the staff were so kind. The location was excellent for seeing all the major sights and was walking distance to the train station. Would stay here again if we come back to Florence!

Our room was a great size which overlooked the piazza. We would go to sleep with lovely music from the piazza at night and wake up to the sound of church bells. We had lots of places to eat, loads of shops and were within walking distance of everything we wanted to see as tourists. The staff were friendly and helpful. There was a great breakfast. There was a beautiful sitting room that everyone could enjoy and lots of tea etc to have at any time in the sitting room which was prefect as there are no kettles in the room. We would definitely stay in this magical and tastefully decorated hotel on our next visit.

Good location, nicely decorated, good lifts, comfy bed, aircon effective, breakfast adequate - cappuccino man great. Best value I could find, saved a lot by staying here.

Room (401) was noisy well into the early hours (from outside). Shower ok but not great - but weak and hard to get the right temperature. Coffee/tea machine in room would be great.

The room was lovely, very comfortable beds, with a little balcony over the famous Piazza della Republica in Florence. So there was a lot of happy going on in the Piazza on this beautiful spring night, as soon as we stepped back in the room and closed the French doors it was silent. Staff were quite wonderful. They allowed us to store bags for a few days while we had a car trip to Urbino before checking in. Then had the bags waiting in our room when we arrived several days later. Their breakfast room is very sweet and the offerings were fantastic, very fresh pastries and wonderful coffee as well as fruits, cheeses, etc.. Everyone we interacted with was pleasant and helpful. Great location right in the heart of Florence. Staff were always helpful and friendly. Breakfast more than adequate to set you up for the day ahead. Comfortable lounge area with constant supply of tea and coffee. Lovely decor and cleanliness in the public areas. Great supply of toiletries and towels in the bedrooms.

Bedrooms need an update. Lamps not working and fixed with folded paper to keep from wobbling. Bathrooms need a good clean, dusty and smell from the toilet, showers leaky making it dangerous when stepping onto tiled floor. Small fridge in the freestanding wardrobe plus a safe makes it difficult to hang clothes adequately. Need privacy curtains at the window in order for workmen opposite to see into bedroom. Room rather dark when having to close curtains for privacy.
