My son and I had a wonderful and all too short stay at Cava dell'Isola. Teresa and her small but perfectly formed team could not have been kinder, friendlier or more efficient. Special thanks are due to the cheerful signora Lina who kept our room spotlessly clean and to Mario, who served our breakfast coffee and evening aperitivo with panache. Teresa very kindly collected and dropped us off at the port, about 20 minutes walk from the hotel (as is the charming town of Forio). The hotel is just a few steps away from the beach and, when the crowds surged in for Ferragosto (the Italian summer bank holiday) the hotel roof terrace and jacuzzi offered a welcome respite. Did I mention the two complimentary bottles of sparklinig wine we were offered during our stay? Or the magnificent sea views? Just a couple more reasons why I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel and hope to return soon 😀

The 64 steps leading up to the main road are a challenge. On the plus side, this meant that the beach wasn't as crowded as it might otherwise been. It also helped us work off the many extra calories consumed in the town's excellent restaurants

Teresa met us at the port with a big smile and made us immediately feel welcome to the island of Ischia! It is a quick ride to the hotel which is steps from one of the best beaches on the island. Mario is also a rockstar! He helped us with everything from dinner reservations at local restaurants, making excellent drinks, to providing us with extra glasses, guiding us to the best places, and just making us feel very welcome. We loved getting up for a quick morning dip in the ocean before breakfast! The room was simple and clean with many thoughtful amenities. Our room included a desk, mini- fridge, wardrobe/Closet with a safe, a wonderful shower with great water pressure, cool air conditioning and strong internet. We had our own table and chairs outside the room and there were plenty of lounge chairs overlooking the beach. The hotel also provides a beach umbrella too. We had a fantastic stay that was better than expected because of warm hospitality from Teresa and Mario.

I loved my stay here! The room was impeccably clean, with turndown service every morning. Both the room and bathroom were spacious and lovely. But the best parts were the people and the location. The location is just up the hill from the Cava beach and their restaurant. I highly recommend starting your trip with a pizza on the beach—nothing better! The water was perfect and the pizza was inexpensive and delicious! The hotel is also a short walk to Citara & Poseidon (about 10-15 minutes) and Forio (20-25 minutes). It's hilly but I enjoyed walking along the hillside with views of the water. It helps you get ready to fuel up on seafood pasta and pizza ;) The family and staff who run this place are truly special. I left feeling like part of their community. Josie (Josy?) welcomed me when I arrived and was so helpful. She laid out everything I needed to know. They also answered my endless questions about the buses (which were confusing), called places for me when I needed help, provided recommendations, and even gave me a ride with them into Forio when they were heading there too. Teresa helped get me to Forio Porto and hugged me when we parted. I can't say enough wonderful things about these amazing people. I just wish I lived closer so I could vacation here more often. To echo what others have said, the walk down the hill to the hotel is steep so I'd only recommend booking if you're prepared for this. I wish I had known there was a driveway for luggage, so I’m sharing this now! If you arrive with a roller suitcase, there’s a driveway to the left at the top of the stairs (if you're facing the water). There’s a gate, but you can walk in next to it. It’s still steep and not smooth, but it’s much easier than carrying luggage down the steps—I realized this after the fact! Ha!

The Wi-Fi didn’t work well in my room, and cell service was spotty, but it was a minor issue. I guess you just have to sit outside and enjoy the ocean if you want to use your phone. Such a difficult problem to have ;)

The location is beautiful! The sunsets from the terrace are beautiful. Mario is an excellent and very friendly host. He is also very helpful with calling taxis or information on which bus to take. There is a nice lunch restaurant at the public beach which is just below the property. The breakfasts are amazing. Mario’s cappuccino is delicious and the pastries and cakes are homemade by Theresa’s mom. The pastries were more delicious than some that we bought at a pasticceria in Rome! There are dinner restaurants within a 10 - 15 minute walk. This hotel is above a public beach and is an easy walk down a hill. The water is beautiful blue and crystal clear.

Everything turned out better than we had hoped. Location by the beach Cava Dell`Isola and with a great view from the terrace and the room. The sound of the waves for complete relaxation. Quiet stay, everything just renovated, new look. Good breakfast and a great bar with a very nice bartender who tells you about the island. Nearby Vespa rental, bus stop and Forio, one of the most beautiful places on the island. If you are interested - Poseidon Termes is also 15 minutes' walk away.

We had an amazing stay here, just a short walk from the beach and Poseidon Gardens. The views from the property were stunning, and the location was perfect for exploring the island. Mario and Teresa were incredibly welcoming and went out of their way to make our stay special. Their kindness really made a difference! Breakfast each morning was delicious and set us up perfectly for the day. We highly recommend staying here if you’re looking for a peaceful, scenic getaway with warm hosts.

We are an American family of four who wanted an authentic Italian beach vacation. I hesitated in booking this hotel because there is no pool but, as the beach was so close, the reviews so good, and the price so reasonable, we booked it. I'm so glad we did! The location is great - the beach is a fantastic cove for kids to play in and you can easily walk to Poseidon Thermal Gardens for pools, and Forio for shops. There are auto, scooter, and bike rentals very close. We stayed four nights and it was the most relaxed we've felt in a long time. The staff is exceptional - very accommodating and attentive. The rooms are basic but very clean and comfortable.

The nearby beach has a lot of trash and needs a beach clean up day or even some trash cans for people to throw things away. It would also be nice to have access to a pool.

We loved this small, family-owned hotel. Everybody was treated as a special guest. The public transport on the island is really good and we did not need a car to get wherever we wanted to go. We also liked the long walks. The breakfast was always excellent. Mario always remembered what we liked. He was very friendly and helpful, as everyone in the hotel. They all helped us to find nice and interesting places to visit. The beach was very close, therefore the fact that it was overcrowded, did not matter. We could just go down, swim, walk on the beach, then come up, and enjoy the solitude and the sun on “our” terrace. A wonderful restaurant just next to the hotel was extremely helpful for the case we didn’t want to go out for lunch or dinner. Teresa: Thanks a lot.

Amazing location. Hotel situated just a few steps away from the beach. Quiet and nice place. Very friendly stuff that will gladly help with any questions. We stayed in a standart room. There's enough space for three people. Beds are nice, big and comfy. You won't have a sea view, as there is a glass fence, but on the other hand it decreases the sun heat. Room is fully equipped with everything you need. Additionally we were provided with umbrella and towels for the beach. Very nice restaurant just next to the hotel (one of the best on the island in my opinion). But the nearest shop is in 15 min walking distance. You will need to climb into the hill (or 60 steps ladder) to get to the road but you can rent a scooter in the hotel. Breakfast is nice and tasty (fantastic coffee and home-made pastries) It might be not very various though. Teresa helped us with ferry and bus tickets and provide a nice welcome treat. Thank you for the perfect vacation!

Air conditioning. It doesn't help much, so at night it was really hot and humid. Smell. Not sure was it coming from air conditioner or sewage. But it was necessary to air the room twice a day. Few cobwebs behind the lights but overall room was clean. Ants. Probably it's because the room is on the ground floor. But we had to use repellent few times and avoid eating anything in or near the room.
