The hotel is in a great location facing out on to a quiet square with lots of restaurants nearby. The staff are super friendly, very helpful and professional - everywhere, at reception, in the breakfast room, in the restaurant. The quality of food is very good - we had two excellent breakfasts and dinners.

My room was small but very comfortable. When booking, I obviously picked the "piccolo" which was an error on my part. If you like having space, book a bigger room.

We didn't have breakfast. We went to a neighbourhood cafe. Very friendly, helpful Reception staff. Very comfortable. Excellent location. Nice coffee machine in room as well as kettle.

Found shower temperature difficult to control. Two showers were too cold and the third too hot. Staff informed and given immediate attention. Not much room around the bed against the fixture and drawers. Attic room. Kettle used on the floor. Couldn't be used in situ. Only one breakfast tea given, but rectified immediately. However overall very clean, comfortable room, with big bed and excellent service.

Getting ready for my dream wedding in Grand Universe in Lucca was a breathtaking experience. Not only is the place stunning, the staff made me feel super comfortable on my special day. They always were on their best interest to assist me and my guests. I will definetly recommend to anyone that is visiting Lucca to stay at Grand Universe Lucca!

Staff were excellent throughout, really friendly on welcoming, always attentive and available. Breakfast and bar facilities top class. Location perfect. We were upgraded to a lovely room which was nice too. The upgraded room was really very nice. Huge comfortable bed, separate seating area and an enormous bathroom.

We were upgraded to a lovely room because the air conditioning was broken in our initial room. The initial room, air conditioning aside, was very small for the price paid. We felt the price was a little high even for the upgraded room we were moved too!

The Breakfast was exceptional & the staff are so efficient.

A little more ambience on the Roof top Terrace i.e background music/ Sun Canopies but it has amazing views especially when the Lucca Summer Festival is on.

the staff were really friendly and helpful. the property was like staying in a grand family home. the location was quiet and away from the major traffic areas of the city.

it’s both a positive and a negative- as a boutique hotel, you will not have the same amenities as a larger property- ie: bar/lounge, lobby areas etc

I liked absolutely everything about the property. The elegance of the old building has been kept, but it has been updated in an extremely stylish and comfortable way. Location is also tiptop.

Very small rooms and our original room we were shown to was extremely dark and looked out on a concrete staircase. The staff were extremely kind and We were moved to a better room but it was still very small with a tiny shower.

Possibly one of the best hotels we have stayed at. The Gentleman behind the desk was extremely helpful, we arrived ahead of check in and our room was already ready for us. The information for around Lucca was very helpful and allowed us to use our time in the city efficiently. The room was very comfortable and we enjoyed a bottle of wine on the roof top terrace in the evening.

We had no complaints throughout our stay, we found the gym very warm and would possibly recommend aircon.
