A wonderful oasis just outside the walls of Lucca, from our arrival we were made to feel very welcome by wonderful and friendly staff, the room was lovely and breakfast excellent. A bonus was how accommodating they were to us with regards to parking, we were arriving at 12.15 pm, well before check in time to meet friends for lunch in Lucca, and they allowed us to park our car and leave it there with all our luggage safe in the knowledge that it was secure. The only down side was that we were only staying for the one night, would definitely stay here again when in Lucca. Couldn't fault Villa Romantica

To start with straight to the point, my wife and I had a lovely time in Lucca and staying at the Villa was a lovely experience. We travelled in November so the weather is changeable ( carry a packable raincoat with you at this time of year ) The Villa is outside the old city walls, but its an easy walk to get to the old town. The district is more residential and not touristy and there is a football ground just opposite (there were no matches on during our visit and with the villa being set in its own gardens , gives it a quiet setting. ) The Villa grounds consist of a large garden area large shady trees and car-parking at the rear of the property. I can imagine sitting out in the summer within the shade of the large trees with a cool drink after a day of walking the city. There is a small reception area with sofa and armchairs with an adjacent breakfast room. Breakfast is a self serve continental style, with coffee, tea and juices, enough to get you going for the day. We asked for breakfast to be left out for us, as we travelled to Florence early one day for a day trip. The staff were very obliging and left out some juice cartons and a light continental packed breakfast, which we ate on the train. We stayed on the first floor in a double deluxe, en-suite. The bed is kingsize and very comfortable, very clean and has a smart TV, along with kettle and a selection of teas and instant coffee. High ceilings, tall windows with wooden shutters gives the customer a sense of Italy. The room was serviced to a high standard,, fresh towels etc The staff could not be more helpful and happy to give guidance. Ask the reception staff for a coffee and you will get a nice Italian cappuccino ,very customer friendly staff. Because of its location it is less expensive than hotels in the old city, but has very high standards and I would highly recommend a stay here . 20 minute walk to train station following the city walls.

Nothing . If you want high end luxury go to the expensive hotels in town, this Villa is great for the traveller whose budget does not stretch, but you will get a lovely experience here.

The location is about 2 walking blocks from the city wall, which you can walk through to get into the town. There is a fantastic restaurant on the way, which we ate at twice because we thought it was so good. Our room was room No,3 and it was on the 1st floor (above ground floor) and was spacious and bright. The bathroom was large with lots of room for the shower, bidet, toilet and lavatory, and with a huge window for light and to open for fresh air. We enjoyed the Italian/Europen style breakfast each day. Staff were friendly and helpful. We would stay here again when we next visit this area. The town is a 10-minute leisurely walk from Villa Romantica. Parking is available for Euros10 per day - But we saw plenty of parking on the street outside the place. There is a football stadium 75 meters away, so I am guessing on game day it could get pretty congested with people/cars, but we didn't run into any game days. Lots of nice restaurants in Lucca to visit. Friendly bars for a drink and some crisps before meals. Overall, I rate this place highly, with great location, Comfy firm bed, spacious room, large bathroom, a small refrigerator, OH and the windows have wooden shutters inside to close for a dark room all morning long for a nice lie-in. Thanks, folks, for a great stay.

I can't think of anything that would stop me from returning to stay at this place again.

Easy walking distance into Lucca and quiet location. Breakfast was amazing choice with extremely helpful staff on hand. Room was simple but nicely decorated and very clean (as was the bathroom).

Only minor issue was plumbing from other rooms noisy but can't be helped!! Also, would have loved to sit in the garden but furniture was a little grubby and all in the shade.

My stay at the hotel surpassed expectations. The room was very clean, offering a comfortable and inviting space. The helpful staff made my experience truly enjoyable. The hotel's proximity to the city walls allowed for convenient exploration of the surroundings. Undoubtedly, the highlight was the very confortable bad. I highly recommend this hotel for its cleanliness, good breakfast, confortable bad and supportive staff, making it a fantastic choice for any traveler.

We arrived and asked about the noise and activity outside and were told that a football/soccer match was about to start across the street. Why not, we went. The bed was the most comfy we had in two weeks in Italy. The room was actually two rooms, a bedroom and a separate living room and we also had a balcony. The staff was incredibly attentive and breakfast was exceptional.

About 10 minutes to walk into the old city, in fact, we set our personal 'steps' high in Lucca. WiFi was weak.

We loved the garden. It was a bit chilly at night and we couldn't take advantage of if but during the day it was beautiful. The house was in a courtyard full of trees and numerous birds we're singing throughout the day. The bathroom was big, clean and well ventilated with the help of a big window. The breakfast was good and diverse. You had a lot of options to pick from. The coffee was something to die for. Amazing.

The heaters did not warm the room and during the night it got a bit chilly. The air conditioning also did not help with warming even if it was put on full heat. But it was overall a beautiful place. We're sorry we only stayed one night.

A really lovely villa just outside the main city walls. Friendly staff, great breakfast, comfy beds. I enjoyed the use of the wellness centre. Good communication before visit with ideas of activities I could do.

It’s a little far from the train station but this isn’t a big issue as it’s a direct route between them.

Laura and Chiara who run the Villa Romantica are delightful and made us very welcome. The entrance to the Villa is lovely with a sitting room and a real fire. Our bedroom was on the ground floor and nicely decorated and furnished. On our return from the town centre each day Laura gave me some milk to add to the tea which we could make in our room. Breakfast is very nice and the girls work hard to ensure everything is good.

It is a 15 minute walk into town and on one occasion the road to the villa was closed because there was a match at the nearby football stadium. This did necessitate a long walk around when we were tired . However the loveliness of the villa and the delightful girls does make up for that. I imagine it is delightful in the summer as there is a lovely garden.

We loved our stay. We appreciated the very warm welcomes from both Sara and Irene. Our room was spacious and clean. The location is fine (even with the occasional neighbourhood noise.) Breakfast was truly excellent. We will definitely remember the espresso and cappuccino we enjoyed in the little breakfast room. We were even treated to bubbly for our wedding anniversary. Overall, an A+ experience.
