Great accommodation across road from Lake Como. Un spoilt view of Lake. Local beach bar and a restaurant within 100 yards. Large clean rooms and super breakfast from Adele. Rooms over 3 floors. Moto Guzi head quarters just 1/2 mile away.

Not a negative but just enough room for parking 2 maybe 3 cars but plenty of free parking 200 yards away.

It will be worth staying here firstly for the loveliest host ‘Adele’ and her incredible breakfasts! I cannot speak more highly of the experience my partner and I had at B&B Foresteria Frontelago. The accommodation is beautiful both inside and out. Every room is akin to being immersed in the renaissance period. Excellent working air con and great shower. The location is ideal for those wishing to be removed from the tourist areas, this will prove to be a more authentic experience and definitely worth it. Cross the road and you can swim in Lake Como and enjoy the beautiful views. I hope one day to return and stay in the B&B as well as getting the chance to see Adele again!

The only thing I will recommend is that you have a car or bike as a 3km walk is required to reach the town of Mandello Del Lario and trains are infrequent.

Adele (the host) was amazing and went out of her way to make our visit to Lake Como a great experience. We arrived late at night and Adele arranged for a late check-in which was really appreciated. We had no issues with parking onsite and I think having a car really helped as the location although great (the lake was right outside and not crowded) was not walking distance from the major spots (although the train station was just up the road). The room was very clean and comfortable with enough space for a few days' visit. Like all the other reviews mentioned, the breakfast was a highlight! Overall 10/10 and I would highly recommend B&B - FORESTERIA - Frontelago Lake Como!

The bathroom was a bit small

Everything was brilliant. The room brilliant, the location brilliant, the breakfast brilliant and the host Adele was even better than brilliant. We had a week staying with Adele and her hospitality was superb, her local knowledge and willingness to help was so useful. Good local restaurants and gelateria and having the rail station a few minutes away almost made a vehicle unnecessary. Cross the road to the beach for a swim ....perfect. We will definitely be back. One of the best holidays ever...

Leaving to return home

You need to stay here if you want to try the world's best omelettes!! Adele is an amazing host. We immediately felt at home. She was always available for anything and everything. Every morning at breakfast she would treat us to Italian specialities and also discuss our plans for the day and shared her personal recommendations. She loves hosting and meeting travellers, this is clearly reflected in the brilliant hospitality provided by her. Hygiene was also very well taken care of in the kitchen. The property was brilliant, located just next to the Lake with stunning views and only 3 minutes away from the Olcio train station, this helped us enjoy the lake peacefully without the touristy crowd but also easily reach the hotspots like Varenna and Bellano. It's a very old, beautifully decorated and maintained house. We also had access to the garden. Highly recommend staying here for one of the best Lake Como experience.

The owner was super nice! It was very personal stay, she made the breakfast, chatted with us and recommended some nice locations. Regarding the breakfast, I have to say it was great and different after all the hotel buffet breakfast we had during our roadtrip. She made it personally with typical Italian ingredients or food. The B&B is right next to the lake so you have a nice lake view from your room, there's also a garden where you can enjoy yourself. It's also close to Varena, one of the popular spots on lake Como (around 15 min by car). We stayed only for a night but it was one of the best spots we stayed at during our long European roadtrip.

We really enjoyed our stay, there are just small details to consider. For example, the lake view also means that you have a road right in front of your window so it might be loud sometimes. Also if you are not there by car, it might be a little harder to move around, go shopping, etc.

We loved our stay! Adele was so lovely and helpful, she had some great recommendations. We loved that Olcio felt peaceful compared to other parts of the lake. The lake is directly across the road which was so nice. The breakfast was lovely. The only hard thing we found was going out for dinner in other towns, we had a car but wanted to have a couple of wines so didn’t want to drive, it’s difficult to get taxis around the lake and the trains don’t run very often so just something to be mindful of when planning your evenings 😊

Our stay at in Lake Como was fantastic, thanks to our incredible host, Adele. Each morning, we enjoyed the best breakfasts we've ever had at a BNB, with delicious cheese and omelettes that we looked forward to every day. Adele was super helpful, assisting us with booking local restaurants and offering great itinerary tips. Her warm hospitality made us feel truly welcomed and enhanced our experience. We couldn't have enjoyed our stay more. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Lake Como that wants to be out of the busy touristy areas!

Quiet, quaint little town Olcio. Beautiful property with stunning art works. 360 views with a private little roof patio area. Excellent family style breakfast where you can sample local delicacies prepared and sourced by the hostess while connecting with other guests

It is a bit out of the way and no ferry/ boat port. If you want to cruise the lakes and have some options with shops and restaurants rather go for Mandello del Lario but in terms of value and peace this is a great option. Would recommend

Great character room, really spacious and comfortable, full of charm! The location was also brilliant and the breakfasts were superb. The host Adele really took care of us and went above and beyond to make sure we had a great holiday. I got an injury towards the end of our holiday and Adele helped me and checked how I was doing after the holiday as well - she’s amazing!

There were two parking spaces at the property and some spaces just up the road - so this wasn’t a problem in the end!
