The location was perfect for a peaceful stay near the lake. The train station is less than 10 min away and there is a ferry pier too. The room is clean and nicely furnished with a new bathroom. Breakfast was served in the restaurant across the street, simple, but tasty.

We stayed at Mama Ciccia at the beginning of October and the weather was unusually cold. We asked multiple times at the reception to turn up the heating and always got a different answer. However, the result was the same - we had a freezing cold room almost the whole time. It's probably the city or hotel policy, that the heat can't be turned higher than 20°C, but it was just too cold for us. This made our stay uncomfortable. I want to note, that the staff tried to help us the best they could, with an extra blanket and checking the heaters in the room.

Amazing and clean Apartments, beautiful area, delicious breakfast, 10 minuts by train to Varenna, 17’ to Bellano, 50 minuts by train from Milano Centrale.

I booked a simple 1 bed room but the bed was in fact very spacious and the room I good size - bigger than I anticipated. The breakfast was delicious - plenty of choice. Mamma Ciccia is located in a quiet village on the shore of Lake Como - with an excellent rail service a short distance from the hotel. I wanted to explore the eastern shore of Lake Como and the location was perfect. I ate at the restaurant every evening - the food was excellent - better than many restaurants I had visited during my stay in Italy. All of the staff were friendly and helpful - and were patiant with my attempts at speaking Italian. I needed to make a sudden change to my itinerary and the owner could not have been more helpful providing me with an apartment for my extra nights. I cannot rate this more highly.

Superb and characterful accommodation in a beautiful old building. Very comfortable with excellent air conditioning in warm weather. Fantastic location in the heart of Mandello Del Lario and close to the lakeside. First class restaurant on site with great service for breakfast and dinner. Exceptional and super-helpful reception staff and safe, secure garage parking for motorcycles. Highly recommended

No curtains to prevent bright sunlight at 5am in the morning - only a very minor negative point. Otherwise Mamma Ciccia was perfect.

I had an unforgettable stay at this hotel! The owner was incredibly helpful and sincere. The reception staff were also very attentive and always ready to answer any questions I had. The room was clean and well-maintained, providing a comfortable environment throughout my stay. The location is absolutely stunning, and the breakfast with a breathtaking view was the highlight of the trip. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a memorable experience.❤️❤️❤️

Beautiful little place in a beautiful little village. Very comfortable room. Wonderful outlook. Absolute serenity. Gorgeous little courtyard area to sit and enjoy a drink. Very easy 10 min walk from the train station. Staff were all very sweet and kind. I would absolutely stay here again.

Breakfast could be a bit better, as I don't eat wheat or meat there were limited options and it didn't really sustain me. Some mould in the shower needs some attention. I know it's a 1st world problem but it was a bit annoying that the WiFi didn't work in the restaurant (as I'm a solo traveller i tend to look at my phone while I eat). Sometimes the sensor light at the stairs didn't come on and it was a bit dark and dangerous.

We had a fantastic stay! We travelled with a baby and hotel provided us with a room on the ground floor which was very convenient, and the entrance was just from the town square overlooking the lake, wow! 😍 The room itself was charming, a part of ancient building. The best was very comfy! The bathroom had a bit of mold but it didn’t affect our impressions. The staff if very friendly, both in the reception and the restaurant. You should try their pinza with burrata!

Nestled in the heart of Mandello del Lario just few steps away from Como Lake. Whether you're here for business or leisure, you'll find everything you need just steps away from the hotel's doorstep. The room was clean and cozy and surprisingly quiet. The only thing that was missing was a safe. The restaurant for breakfast was conveniently located in the same building as our room. Despite its small size, the ambiance was cozy and inviting. The staff were incredibly nice and accommodating, ensuring a pleasant dining experience. However, I would like to note that the breakfast options could be improved. While the food offered was decent, I felt that there could have been more variation and a wider choice of dishes available.

If I were to point out something I didn't like, it would be the price. After staying there and experiencing the accommodation, I believe the prices should be lower.

Had a lovely stay at Mamma Ciccia, and would definitely recommend them to anyone else going to Mandello del Lario. They are an easy 10 minute walk from the train station and only a street over from the lake so a really good location to explore Lake Como! All the staff were so friendly and welcoming, I felt really at ease being a solo traveller and you can tell they really care. I had a single room which was basic but had everything I needed including a desk, fridge and free wifi, and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was buffet style with lots of cold options (can order a lovely coffee). The highlight was eating at the bistro, this was the best meal of my trip having tried a few of the other local restaurants so I thoroughly recommend eating there in the evening if you can!

Perhaps the most surprising hotel of our trip. In a good way! Super helpful staff, advised, told where and what to see and to get. The room we got was also super, extremely cozy and especially comfortable beds! I just had absolutely no comments, when I had questions, everything was solved immediately. Breakfast was also good. In short, we will definitely come back again with the whole family, and for others who are looking to feel the true spirit of Italy and enjoy Lake Como in peace, this is a perfect place! p.s.
