Unfortunately we were not able to enjoy the courtyard and veranda surrounding as much as we might have, because the courtyard garden seemed to be the designated smoking area. It might be more representative of the general culture/attitude around smoking in Italy rather than to this particular hostel. We left/avoided the courtyard whenever anyone smoked to avoid exposing our child to second hand smoking. It would be lovely to have a separate designated area for smoking, so that non smokers can enjoy the available green space as well.

Loved the facilities and the staff was super nice, helpful and friendly. They were also able to accommodate for my needs which I really appreciated. They have lockers with sufficient space in the room and the beds were comfy. I also really lived the common lounge area and the kitchen is very homely. Close to restaurants and shops; easy to get there from the train station and the staff will even send you a video to guide you. I'd definitely stay here again!

Breakfast wasn't fantastic (for the price it was probably alright though) and in the lower floor the bathroom wasn't in good condition, the shower didn't work in that floor and there was only one toilet, although if you don't go in high season that's not really too problematic.

Very good value for the money! Very near to a train and metro station, the area feels save at night. The premises of the hostel are nice, too. The bed was comfortable, the bedsheets were very clean. Enough of sockets for everybody to charge the devices. The lockers are big, have a couple of hangers, too. The showers were OK, nothing exceptional, but nothing bad either, the toilet was decent. There is always enough free showers/toilets. The breakfast was much better than I expected! Even better than in some hotels I have been to :p I would definitely stay here again.

OstellOlinda in Milan offers a unique and welcoming stay, nestled in a tranquil and historic setting. The highlight of my experience was Valentina, whose exceptional hospitality made my visit truly memorable. She was incredibly attentive, offering insightful tips about the city and ensuring all my needs were met. Valentina's warm and friendly demeanor created a home-like atmosphere, making OstellOlinda a standout choice for anyone visiting Milan.

Although OstellOlinda doesn't have air conditioning, it didn't take away from the overall wonderful experience.

I stayed here for four nights in total. The grandma and grandpa work there are so kind and lovely, make me feel like a home. The public spaces are spacious and clear with lovely gardens inside and outside the building. It’s quite and also just a short walk to metro station. Another bonus is the weekend local market just in front of the location. The vibrant is great, you can source lots of fresh and cheap local foods and fruits here and cook in the well equipped kitchen.

Some washroom equipment are malfunctioning, but there are several of them upstairs, so it’s not a big problem.

The place is pretty clean. The bed is neat, and the matress is warm as well. When we arrive, the receptionist is really nice and welcoming. He guides us through the area and also helps us to move the luggage to the room. We also have a little breakfast prepared by the hostel. There is a kitchen, a dining room for us to cook and eat. In general, it is worth the price.

The place is quite far from the central area, but you can take metro M3 and it only takes around 15 to 20 minutes.

I really like the location of this hostel, set among trees in a park, a peaceful oasis from the city noise. I stayed here on two occasions, and I definitely prefer an upstairs room, as it is much quieter than the downstairs, where there is a kitchen, dining room, common area and people going in and out. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and I especially appreciated their willingness to let me store a bag while I walked the Via Francigena for a month. The hostel is an easy walk from the train/metro station, and there are several grocery stores and a big mall within a 15-minute walk. The included breakfast is a bonus, and both times I stayed here I arrived in the morning and they invited me to have (an extra) breakfast when I arrived. All in all, an excellent experience, especially the second time when sleeping upstairs. Thanks so much!

People often smoke in the outdoor courtyard in the middle of the building, and the smoke often wafts into the hallways. This would probably not be as much an issue on the upper floor, but on the lower floor it is more noticeable.

Convenient location - in the park, close to the metro and train station, pleasant price, and polite staff. Additionally, we were able to use the kitchen, which was equipped with a kettle and a microwave. We did not have a private bathroom in our room, so we used the shared one, which was always clean.

The rooms are poorly renovated, old, and the furniture is slightly falling apart.

The breakfast is really nice, the room was tidy and fresh (cooler than the outside), the personnel is very friendly. They kept our luggage after check out until 5 pm. There is always a snack available in the kitchen. The place is surrounded by nature, it's easy to forget we're in the middle of a city.

There are no towels provided, only hand towels There was no warm water during the whole stay from Sunday to Tuesday, they said they were working on it but it didnt get fixed during our stay.
