the hotel is amazing and view wonderful. if you dont like walking up and down stairs and gradients this hotel is not for you. There is a venicular 5 minutes walk either side of hotel but very hidden. If you want to buy snacks for your room do it when you are in the centre of town, there is nothing near the hotel.

The 7th floor was pretty much out of bounds due to constant weddings. No problem with that if you are actually told. I wandrered off upstairs and straight into a wedding reception and promptly escorted back to the lift! Reception staff offer no extra information, if you want to know anything ask or google it.

The hotel is located above the city and it overlooks it towards the sea. There is a garden/ rooftop that has a magnificent view, a really nice garden, swimming pool and bar. it is however only open from 15 May onwards.

If you want to go into the city by foot, you have to take a lot of stairs and it’s not always easy to find the way back through the maze of alleys. I recommend to take a taxi after it is dark.

Breakfast was really good and the room and the hotel was excellent.Bed was incredibly comfy and I had a great nights sleep. Traditionally Italian and very historic.

The bath was so slow to fill that I tried the shower and almost flooded the bathroom.

location, view, culturally relevant history, architecture and design of hotel, friendliness and efficiency of staff, pool and rooftop bar and terraces, uniqueness, live piano music at bar and restaurant for dinner

weak/insufficient air-conditioning in room (35); cuisine in the main restaurant (while nicely presented, it was mediocre in quality/taste (especially considering Naples where so much outstanding cooking is available at reasonable prices); closure of swimming pool at 17:00 is at least 120 minutes too early (guests want to visit city and sights and then refresh in the pool); sadly, the jacuzzi grotto was not operating

The facility has a beautiful garden and seating area on the upper deck, and the dining area has wonderful views of the city and Napoli bay. It is a well-maintained historic building with modern amenities. The staff was very professional and helpful, and arranged a cab to take us to the train station at the end of our stay. The highlight of the stay was dinner at the hotel restaurant La Terrazza dei Barbanti. The meal was quite good but the view of the sunset over Napoli bay are what we will remember for years to come.

The hotel was in a good location to walk to local sites; but some of the neighboring areas were a bit rough. I don't expect there is much that can be done about this, just be aware when you go out. Suggest taking a cab rather than walking late at night if you are concerned.

This is an historic building that in itself is a treat to explore, as a former monastery on the hills above Naples. The views from every room and from the restaurant and rooftop levels offer a panoramic overlook of the city that continues right up to its doors. The restaurant is very good and it’s wonderful to eat outdoors with that amazing view. Staff is super friendly and helpful.

Because the hotel is off the tourist track, located in a residential university neighborhood, there aren’t restaurants or sightseeing areas within easy walking distance . We took taxis into Naples proper, because we were unable to navigate the funicular transit system that’s pretty complicated, but taxis were readily available and reasonable.

View, comfortable bed, clean, a part of the staff was very friendly, the hotel was not ordinary or common

Space in the room, the closet was tiny , no room for the suitcases , no space to put the shirts, underwear etc

Service excellent, both at reception and in the restaurant, where the food was also delicious both at breakfast and at dinner. The terrace is lovely for a drink, the view is great, and the bedroom was really comfortable. The shower was very spacious despite it being a monastery! But most of all, we loved the character of the hotel, all of its history and exploring the staircases and passageways and rooms with monastic artefacts.

Honestly, there was nothing we didn't like! Ignore people saying that it's out of the way -- it's a short walk from the funicular station, and the funicular has you at Montesanto station in one minute. From there it's easy to reach the historic centre. And Via Toledo, which is full of shops and eateries, is a 10 minute walk downhill from the hotel. The hotel is not at the top of the hill!

The location and view were incredible, situated on the hill above the center of town. The rooftop and pool area were gorgeous, and we loved the unique character of the building and the rooms. Our room itself was great, and we'd certainly stay there again.

The spa area was not great. We booked a 90m couples massage for 150 Euro, and it turned out to be about 10 minutes in a sauna, 20 minutes sitting in a "relaxation" room with blaring music and staff talking loudly right around the corner, and about 40 minutes of a massage that... well, I guess any massage is better than no massage. But it wasn't on a massage table, so we had to have our heads turned uncomfortably to the side the whole time, and the massage itself was mediocre at best.
