This property exuded understated elegance. The location was central but on a quiet side street for all of the convenience and none of the noise. The staff was incredibly accommodating particularly the gentleman who worked at night. He gave excellent dinner recommendations and was very attentive. The room was old world charming with a view of a faded medieval church facade. The breakfast was four stars. All different kinds of homemade cakes and bakery croissants.

The air conditioning is the same anemic ac that you’ll find in many Italian hotels but was charming even during a hot day if you adjusted your expectations.

Considering you are in the old medieval part of town, its not uncommon for their to be limited places to stay. This hotel is cute. The rooms are comfortable but for us Americans, it is closer to a 3 * lodging. Outside of the actual rooms being more like 3*, the amenities & other parts of this hotel are lovely. Breakfast was delightful. Staff was EXTREMELY kind & helpful. Above all, this little town of Orvieto is so charming. My final thought, a nice stay but too expensive for what you get. But this applies to a lot of little towns around italy.

The rooms are very unusual -- mine even had an upstairs, that I didn't have the time to visit -- in this old huge family home. It has been wonderfully, if simply, done by the owners. And the breakfast, which is included in the price, is by far the best one I've very had in any hotel and not just in Italy! Generous, with a huge range of options, served in a dedicated basement room by a very gracious attendant. I also like the gracious manner in which they had an attendant to take my car, park it for my stay; and collect it and bring it to the hotel, while loading my luggage, on my departure. Very professional.

it was a half mile to the Duomo (which is why I came to this village) , and I had to do the trip 2X on foot -- no local small carriers --and hop on -hop off open bus tours, started at the Duomo -- nothing near this hotel. As it was 95F both days I was there, the walks (mild uphill) were a challenge for someone my age.

A very large comfortable room with a nice view and very well placed. The amenities were luxurious and the room's heating was well regulated. Staff exceptionally friendly but when they said that we needed a reservation for restaurants they should have made that very clear. The one restaurant they recommended across from the square were rude and turned us away and suggested a horrible alternative Da or Don Carlos. Do not go top this restaurant that they recommended you will be most disappointed.

I thought the staff were a little uninvolved and might have offered to make the necessary reservations for the resturants.

Location: just in the middle of the town. Room wide and perfectly clean. Good valet service for car parking. Fairly good breakfast. Good wi-fi.

Very difficult to be reached! Topography and lack of road signals make an unpleasant combination. Room furniture really below the required standard for the rating of the hotel, both for style and for level of comfort: in particular a couple of arm-chairs seems to be absolutely needed. Also lighting doesn't seem appropriate. Bathroom just renovated and clean but small and not so comfortable..

This is a beautiful authentic hotel within a short walking distance of the main square and restaurants. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Jessica on reception was lovely and give you any help you need. Shout out to Jude who’s warm and friendly character will instantly help you relax and enjoy the atmosphere. He can also help you book some beautiful restaurants to suit every taste. I was only passing through on a short stay but will most certainly be back to enjoy this lovely hotel.

The location is top and the building itself is very charming. We had a very silent and tranquil suite, recently renovated and modern.

Our suite was very dark, at a low floor and with just 3 mini-windows. The bed was small and the mattress and pillows too hard! They "reject" the body. We didn't like the decor of our room: grey walls for such a dark room are not a good choice. The freestanding bathtub needs some sort of light: so as it is, in a dark corner, it looks sad. The shower products could be bigger and reusable, with dispenser: now it's difficult to get the products out as the mini-bottles are made of hard plastic. Plus, they just don't suit a 4 stars level. The juices at breakfast should be freshly pressed and not the pasteurised, sugary ones: again, it's not 4 stars level. Also, too many sweets and not enough savoury options.

The location is perfect. In the heart of beautiful Orvieto. In the old walled city but still easily accessible (no need to negotiate much narrow cobble stone alleyways full of pedestrians). The building itself has a historical vibe. But the main best thing was the service. So easy to communicate with before hand - very responsive. And the main guy (Jude) who everyone must surely interact with is amazing. Fun, sweet, and gives you the good inside scoop on how to max out Orvieto.

Terrific staff, beautiful property with history, interesting corners and spacious rooms. A terrific breakfast with a wide range of foods available. Location couldn’t be better - adjacent to the top of the escalators from the parking area and about 3 minutes to the heart of old town, full of boutiques and restaurants. Historic sites and scenic areas every direction, Orvieto is a jewel.

The air conditioning didn’t work sufficiently to keep the room cool enough at night, we left the window open but then the noise in our room was very bad as it’s on a regularly used road and an echoing corner. Perhaps an internal room would be better, but dawn still assured an early wake up. Bed was very hard - slept on a layer of pillows which helped.
