As may be expected, I travelled to Palazzo Adriano as it is the village where Cinema Paradiso (my favourite film) was shot. The hotel itself is basic, and not particularly decorated to my taste, but I don't really have any complaints. Room was clean, bed was basic but comfortable, air con/heater, TV, decent shower and bathroom. Wifi was good. The adjacent restaurant offers tasty local fare and is decently priced. Also, and don't take this as given, but I personally was told I could check out at any time.

Palazzo Adriano is way up in the mountains, and getting there involves a rather tortuous drive through narrow, winding, steep, badly maintained roads. Of course, this isn't the hotel's fault, and, if you're going for the same reason as me, it's a small price to pay. Once you get to the village, if you're a fan of the film, it's surreal just to be there. I, unfortunately, arrived as the village's annual festivities were kicking off. I could barely hear the (considerable) noise from the street, but there was a lot of noise in the corridors from drunk people arriving late at night.

Palazzo Adriano is a beautiful town located in the mountains, it offers spectacular views and great hiking options. There's several cafes and places where you can grab something to eat. The rooms at the albergo are small and quite old but offer all you need: a bathroom, hairdryer, AC with heating option. We had good pizza in the pizzeria downstairs. Parking available for free on the street or in front of the pizzeria.

Lovely people, the hotel is renovated, so it lost the atmosphere, but it is fairly made. I would recommend to avoid colder months

The single bed was quite tiny, and I am an average-big guy. I could barely move to avoid falling off

Could’ve been very nice given the location. Unfortunately, the staff was on the surly side. Not particularly friendly. Or helpful. Room was very basic, but what you would expect for the price.

Felt like a stray dog when I turned up in the pouring rain to claim my room. In other words, the welcome could’ve been warmer.
