Our room was easy to get to on 2nd floor, clean, spacious for Rome standards and came with a nice breakfast. We slept like babies! Shower water pressure was great. Front desk staff was outstanding, very helpful with questions and getting taxis. Highly recommend! When searching for locations, I found Hotel Grifo to have a nice price in a central, fun neighborhood. Lots of places to eat, drink and be merry all around! Our golf cart tour guide told me I picked her favorite neighborhood to stay, Monti 😄

We liked the Hotel Personel and the location MOST! The personel (Eva, Alen and the others who prepared for us the breakfasts and did the cleaning!) are so kind and helpful! They showed us on the map of Rome where it is worth to go for a dinner, where we can go shopping and how to get there. Whatever we needed - like printing the document or leaving the things in the morning before the flight back - they helped us and were so kind to explain everything! The second MOST beloved fact is the location of the hotel which is just 10 mins away (on foot) from Colloseum and Forum Romanum! We haven't even dreamt of having better location to start exploring Rome than Grifo hotel! There is also one important hint behind this location - you are just in between the historical center of the city and both: Termini Railway/Bus station & Metro station - which is really comfortable if you wish to spare some time and get quicker to Vaticano! We were also nice astonished to find so plenty of nice, friendly and typical-Italian cafe and resturants around the hotel. We really, really recommend this Hotel to everybody who wish to stay there for holiday, enjoy city vibre and local cousine.

Location of the hotel is just perfect, very close to major touristic attractions, but at the same time surrounded by high quality local restaurants. Evrything is spotless clean and well managed. Special appreciation goes to Alen and Donatella at the reception, they did everything to make our stay a great one

Though the size of the rooms is more or less ok, the bathroom is quite small, making it rather uncomfortable

The location is wonderful. Less than 1 KM from The Colosseum, Trevi Fountain and many other attractions. The staff were all wonderful to deal with. Always available and more than happy to make restaurant recommendations etc. Also, taking care of booking taxis, dinner reservations and anything we needed. Cannot be overstated - the staff were just wonderful.

The only potential concern is the room size but to be honest, I think if you want to stay in the old part of the city, you have to expect limited space. Everything was done by the hotel to make the most efficient use of space. Well done.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Receptionist welcomed us, told us how to contact him if we need help, gave us a tourist map, marked nearby tourist attractions, and gave us advice on which restoraunts/pizzerias nearby to try out (that advice was good).

Since I've read negative reviews before I made the booking I was prepared for the minor incoveniences. They did not really detract from experience but it is worth keeping them in mind. Thin walls (you hear everything), room was a bit cramped, I had a squeaky bed. My room was in a separate building and I had to open 3 separate doors to get there. Again, nothing major, just to keep in mind.

The breakfast was good, when I checked I wanted fresh fruit, I thought it would be sliced fresh fruit. It was a whole apple, just surprised. The location was amazing and couldn't have been better. Alan who worked the front desk is totally an asset and helped beyond duties to help us get our luggage the next day, and with language and customs at the airport. He definitely made a challenge into a memorable experience to our first trip to Europe.

More information about how things operate while checking in. Don't assume everyone has been to Europe before and know how the lights work or how to operate everyday accessories ie, bidet, electrical plugs. The shower was very small and the room number was 328 even though it was on the 4th floor. Taking elevator to 3rd floor, and going up those tiny steep steps to the fourth. Information about going to fourth floor would have been beneficial that even though it was 328, it was on the fourth floor. Just communication of these little things would be advantageous.

Alan at the front desk was outstanding! He offered great suggestions, directions and showed real interest in our comfort. The rest of the staff seemed equally great, but we interacted mostly with Alan. The building is charming, frim the 1700's. Yes, the rooms are small by American standards but that is typical in EU. It was spotless and the bed is comfortable. If the room with the terrace is available GO FOR IT (charming). Homemade breakfast. This has a family pride vibe. Location on a cobblestone street with bars and restaurants nearby. 15 min walk to the Collisium, Trevi fountains, etc.

Absolutely no suggestions for improvements

I loved the staff at this hotel! Everyone was so friendly and helpful, and I don't think my stay in Roma would have been the same without them. They gave recommendations to when to visit attractions, where to go, and called taxis for us. Reception was available 24/7. The location was great, and walkable to fantastic restaurants and gelato. I felt safe at this location. The Colosseo and Trevi Fountain were walkable, and so were a ton of other attractions. The breakfast was included, and so delicious. I'm still thinking about it now that I'm back home! I really enjoyed my stay here, and would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Rome :)

The room was a little small- which was expected anyway. I don't think it would have been too much of an issue with a partner/ spouse, but I was traveling with my mom and we need our space lol. There was AC (thank goodness!) although it wasn't very strong so we were still hot once we acclimated to the temperature.

The location was fantastic. It's in the Monti neighborhood which has a ton of restaurants and shops. It's right by the colosseum so there's good tourist shops as well. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful.

The rooms were incredibly small. The shower was the smallest shower I've ever been in. It's hard to even move around. The hallway was noisy. People coming and going at all hours of the night. It was expensive for what you get but that's to be expected in Rome. And given the location, all of this is understandable. It's not a bad place to stay but you have to set the right expectations.

We were located across the street in the annex so do not know what the hotel rooms look like. Our room was large and comfortable. The receptionist Alan was very hospitable and helpful. He settled us in and gave us an orientation to the time/distance to the major sites and good restaurants around Grifo. The night staff were equally as helpful and friendly.

There were a few lights burnt out in the annex building stair hallway where we were located, so the stairs were dark in places. Alan immediately addressed that when we told him. The toilet needed “help” too, which we told Alan about.
