After 35 hours of travel all I needed was a hot shower and a comfortable bed in a quiet room. Saint Joseph provided both of these. The hotel is built in a "U" shape - balcony for the rooms are on the inside of the "U". Each room gets a view of the beach which is right at the edge of the property. However there is no real privacy on the balconies as everyone is facing each other. I didn't get a chance to use any of the facilities as I simply crashed for the night and left early the next morning. Room was clean and the breakfast was well stocked. I would book again as it was in a convenient location for what I needed at the time, despite it being a few kilometers from the centre of Salerno.

The air conditioning in our room did not seem to work. I turned the setting on to cold but the vent sent out warm air. In the end I turned it off and open the balcony door with the shutters down. It was not ideal but I was too tired to get it sorted by the staff.

The rooms are spacious, and very clean (including the linen and towels). The staff was very helpful and friendly. The resort is opposite the sea. In addition, it is about 10/15 minutes' walking distance to a Supermarket (Conad) and restaurants. They also provide internal parking. Breakfast was good and fresh. Upon request, more fresh bread and scrambled eggs were made for us.

Our room had outdoor furniture. However, no cushions were provided to use them. (I did not ask if we could be provided any. Therefore, if I had asked, maybe we would have been given the necessary outdoor cushions.) In addition, we dined at their restaurant twice during our stay. The menu was exactly the same. On our second visit, the variety of food was limited. I also do acknowledge that as a resort, they host events. However, one particular night, the music was slightly loud. Therefore, we could not sleep with the balcony door open.

Saint Joseph was a little pleasant surprise . Location might look be a little off , because of the constructions across the street , but once youre in the hotel , the resort feel , the garden , being right on the beach , the restaurants and breakfast , the bar at night , all of them GREAT ! And the staff : two girls in the reception , (don't remember names , scusarmi ) they helped us with recommendation for dinner and even set up an last minute appointment for my wife to do her nails at a salon in town . Loved it! Wish i had more days to enjoy the hotel and Salerno !

1 or 2 details to be looked at like the toilet flush needed fixing and the wall usb charger that was coming off the wall , the mattress was a bit hard for me but my opinion all the rest was great

The staff at the hotel was friendly and helped us from the get go. Everyone including receptionists, cleaning ladies, restaurant staff was great! Even if the hotel room didn't exactly look like the pictures, we settled in and really enjoyed the hols. The AC in the room is centralised so you can't really regulate the temperature (only the fan speed) but we found it perfect for sleeping with the AC on. The bed and the pillows were confortable and the sheets were changed daily! The rooms are definitely big and the balcony had outdoor furniture so we could chill in the evenings. The breakfast buffet was ok - the basics were there. The territory of the hotel is green and the landscape is beautiful. You can also chill there on the sun-beds and take occasional showers (all functioning outdoor) if you're not going to the beach.

Bear in mind that the place looks a bit different in the pictures. The rooms might use a paint. You will have to pay upon check in, which I found a bit unusual. The hotel does not have their own beach, so you have to pay at the reception to get access to the private beach club. It's probably cheaper than going directly through the beach club, but something to consider setting some budget aside for. The hotel is situated towards the outskirts of Salerno, so best would be to move by car/taxi

Excellent stay. Really good facilities, extremely kind personnel, excellent food. Really lovely location, sea was fantastic and with easy access from the hotel. Very close to centre town too. Excellent value for money. Solarium was really lovely in the evening for a drink before dinner. Breakfast in the morning was abundant and delicious. A real gem of a place.

Our room had a window that opened up directly on a wall. We asked to get a different one, but was not possible because the hotel was fully booked. We did not mind because were only staying two nights, but we would have complained if we were supposed to stay more. Should we return, we would specifically ask not to have that room.

The welcoming, the reception, that was smooth, helpful and positive experience. We asked for the map of the city, they didn't have it at the reception, but printed it out with no hesitation.

The breakfast was scarce, beach closed, we thought we could at least dip our feet in the water but that wasn't possible at this time (April).

second time I was at the hotel, and had even a better time. A big thank you to the lady at the reception and bigger thank you to all the breakfast staff that for the second time they really make me feel comfortable and were really attentive

some other rooms would benefit with fresh lick of paint and general freshen up

The room was spacious and clean. The hotel itself is nice and has a nice balcony, and a terrace.

You see the sea through the window but it costs you 25 euros to get to it... We couldn't go to the sea for free, the only way to get there for free was to get to the free beach which is 1km away... such a nonsense when it's like 50 meters away...

The breakfast, location, staff (all of them from the front desk, the restaurant and the maids) and the free parking.

The wi-fi only worked on the ground floor. There was a problem with the upstairs repeater. When we needed a private space to use it they made the space available every time we needed it.
