The hotel has a very relaxed and calm vibe which we welcomed. It is set in a quiet neighbourhood so the views are ok but more residential, however we could see the water far ahead of us and the hills to the side of us each morning and it was nice seeing the mist and clouds up high, along with the lush surroundings. We found a lovely dessert place a 3 minute walk from the hotel called cloud la mer, but there are not many places to eat nearby for dinner so its best to eat down in the main areas before coming back up to the hotel. There is a seven eleven and also a small supermarket further down the hill, both about a 5-8 minute walk. We loved the layout of our room which was spacious and also functional with a young toddler. The toiletries were all of a good quality and we enjoyed wearing our pyjama's for breakfast. We also had an onsen on our balcony which was lovely to use. The breakfast is traditional Japanese so you are given a tray filled with fish, pickles, rice and miso soup and other small dishes to try and this was enjoyable for our 3 night stay however any longer and it may have been too much. There was also a pick your own section as well for breakfast so you could grab extra's such as fruits and yogurts.
During our stay we opted for a dinner course one evening, for the amount paid we personally didn't think it was value for money. There were interesting dishes and ingredients but having enjoyed set course meals at other venues, we felt this was too costly in comparison. We also initially struggled in obtaining some milk for our toddler. In the mornings at breakfast time it was not a problem, however on our first night in the evening milk was not available. Fortunately there is a local seven eleven about 5 minute walk away so bought some from there.

The property is beautiful, clean and very peaceful. The interior is a mix of classic Japanese with a modern minimalist feel/twist. The staff was extremely kind and accommodating (some speak limited English, and really appreciated any attempt at Japanese) The food in general was exceptional and we particularly enjoyed the breakfasts that were included with our booking. We paid for the special dinner, which was somewhat costly, but worth it in our opinions. They went above and beyond to accommodate my food allergies and even remembered to adjust my breakfast the next morning. The rooms were beautiful (minimalist theme) and well appointed with tea, sweets, dressing robes, toiletries, and water. The onsen was an indoor facility, and was clean and relaxing. If you have a tattoo, bring a patch to cover it as the one they sell is extremely painful to remove. :/. I ended up using the onsen in our room more often than the public onsen. The lounge on the top floor has a beautiful aesthetic and view towards the ocean. We highly recommend partaking in the welcome tea/sweets.
This is of no fault of the hotel, but just something to note. It is about a 15 minute walk from the hotel to the shore (restaurants/shopping), but it’s quite steep. We ended up walking it twice, so the onsen was much appreciated for our sore muscles.

Beautiful rooms, great amenities, the public onsen was lovely. The Japanese breakfast was very good. The property is beautifully designed, although the hotels location is not great, it’s surrounded by beautiful gardens and windows are placed in such a way that you don’t really see the other buildings around. The hotel is not easily accessible with public transport so having your own car is a must, there’s a lot of parking available at the property.
The rooms are beautiful but cleaning could be more thorough, stains on the sofa and chairs, there was hair in the onsen so I guess they didn’t change the water between guests. The staff is a bit hit and miss, some were really lovely and friendly others were not. We asked if we could have a breakfast box as we wanted to hike very early morning and were told they could not accommodate due to food poisoning possibility. I thought that was odd as we just wanted a warm coffee and some rice (no coffee in the room). While I understand they can’t do a full Japanese breakfast as take away, for a room this price it would have been nice to at least see some efforts to prepare something small (cookies and coffee for example).

What a wonderful place! We booked a suite and it was so worth the money paid - huge room, comfortable bed, massive sofa (like a second bed), hinoki bathtub was the size of a small swimming pool and ofcourse the onsen on the balcony with the most breathtaking views of the Atami! We also had a fridge stocked with complementary drinks + welcome cookies every day! They also offer you a welcome drink at the tea salon located on Lvl 8! The dinner was delicious and beautifully presented; traditional breakfast was not far behind! Absolutely loved our stay and would love to stay here again someday!
The location is on top of the hill and isn't really walkable from the station - but we already knew this so were happy to catch a taxi to and from the accommodation! We did walk to the Plum Garden - do not recommended - it's a very hilly walk and we sweated a ton hahaha :) But walking downhill towards the town won't be an issue!

Breakfast was delicious and came both with a set meal and additional buffet of eggs, tofu, salad, custard, tea, and more. I was impressed by how much selection there was at breakfast and left very satisfied. The room was beautiful and cleanly and I used my private onsen often. There were also complimentary drinks in the public onsen after bathing.
The public onsen was rather lackluster compared to others I’ve stayed at. It was clean and stylish but lacked a view of nature, mountains, or additional ambience. So it feels almost a must to get a room with private onsen for the full experience of relaxing with a view.

SOKI Atami will be one of our most memorable and inspiring stays on our entire Japan trip! The modern minimalistic design aesthetic and zen atmosphere surrounded by lush green gardens and bamboo forest surroundings was exactly what I was dreaming of. I will never forget how SOFT my skin was after indulging in our private onsen bath (multiple times!)...it was incredibly relaxing especially after traveling for 2 weeks around the country. It was an extra bonus to have the onsen already filled and perfectly heated when we arrived. The amenities were also top notch, and we enjoyed dressing in our Samue loungewear and tabi socks to dinner and breakfast, as well as the making our own 'sachet' souvenir. The meals were a visual feast and we loved trying new dishes which were beautifully choreographed and presented both at dinner and the breakfast buffet. We will recommend SOKI to our friends for a special experience.
The steam room was not working at the time of our visit, and I had been looking forward to it.

Quality of breakfast, service, design.
There is only one restaurant on the property, very expensive and fully booked when we were there. No restaurants in the vicinity.

My room was incredibly spacious and included a private onsen in my room. The dinner and breakfast was one of the best dining experiences I’ve ever experienced. Absolutely exceptional, very high class and flavours paired extremely well together. Everything was incredibly well thought off. Would stay again in a heartbeat!!
Room was quite hot (likely due to the onsen) and the WiFi wasn’t great. Location is a little far out of the town centre, but I was aware of this.

There was so much variety at breakfast!! Everything was so fresh and delicious. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. My family don't need raw foods and staff made sure every item we got at breakfast and dinner were fully cooked. Service is just amazing!! Room was very spacious and immaculately clean.
Wish there was a free shuttle from Atami Station to hotel.
