Good location a short walk from the station. Staff are incredibly helpful and helped me sort out onward travel. Everything is very clean and the 'pod' style bunk beds mean you have more privacy. There are toilets on the same floor as the dorm and showers (with body wash and shampoo) are down one floor. The terrace was good to see Mount Fuji when finally making an appearance just before I left. There's a communal area with free tea and coffee and a microwave, and there are convenience stores (including the 'famous' Lawson) and good value restaurants nearby. Everything was very clean and comfortable.

It would have been good to have the option of a simple breakfast in the guesthouse which always encourages conversation with other travellers. Limited space in the dorms to put your luggage.

I like everything about it most especially the rooftop because I was really able to maximize my stay even if it's just for the weekend. I so love the view of Mt. Fuji from up there and I enjoyed it all by myself because everyone else was still sleeping. I would have stayed longer if time allows. It was never a plan but I'm so happy I went through it because I has the best weekend of my life.

It's not that I didn't like but it's just I wasn't able to have some tea time. But I'm still happy the owner allowed me to get one wafer. It literally saved me a meal.

There is so much to like about this little place. First of all the lady who owns this place is such a beautiful soul. She speaks pretty good English and is very helpful. gave great restaurant tips and travel tips. This is her family home that she shares and they are very respectful and it felt like an honour to be in their home.. So here is a list of all the great things!! Cute little lounge and eating area with snacks, sweets and drinks, a bonus on hiking day! A brilliant shoe dryer, everybody needs one of these! The most amazing views from the rooftop which was quiet and peaceful. I was worried it would be full of drinking youngsters but it was such a wonderful resting area. great Aircon and dehumidifier if needed. A Clearview of Mount Fuji from my bedroom! lovely smelling toiletries provided in the shower. help with luggage upstairs and downstairs to the bedroom.

I didn’t dislike anything about this day. I just want to point out. Directions were difficult to follow on maps. my tip is to go to the Suzuki dealership and keep walking on the main road away from the station. Google Maps took me all around the back and round and round! It was actually a super quick walk from the station.

The Guest House is located in an unbelievable silent area in the heart of Kawaguchiko. You will find nice restaurants and supermarkets around. I think that I dont have to talk about the view. Just amazing!!! Furthermore, everything is so clean. The hosts are very interested in cleaning every day which feels nice. It is also nice to use the bikes for free and get some snacks and coffee on top. 🙏🏼

The only thing which is a bit annoying is that there was no small light in the two bed room next to the bed. Thats just it.

Location - great 5-7 mins walking from train station where you can also catch local/sightseeing buses. Staff - Naoka was so nice and friendly and helpful. For example when I said I wanted to go to Yurari Onsen but it looked like their free shuttle wasn't bookable, she called and arranged for me to get on it both ways. She also gave me a 300 yen discount coupon. That saved me 1500 yen right there since bus was 600 each way. It also saved me a lot of irritation because the only views of Fuji at the Yurari onsen from the public bath is if you are standing not in a pool (and you will be naked, so standing naked) at least on women's side and very chlorinated, do not recommend going to that onsen, I went to 20+ onsen on this trip so I am very familiar with them. Facilities - best washlet toilet of my month stay! Super clean, stylish. Love the GREAT COFFEE (i'm picky)) and free snacks. The best was the terrace on 3rd floor, make your coffee and go up there as soon as you wake up, usually clearest of day and Fuji-san is right in your face, it's wonderful! Also borrowable umbrellas and raincoats and bikes. I biked around Lake Kawaguchi which I recommend, you will see everyone else pass you on their e-bikes but that's okay it's only 20km and you get the extra exercise.

We stayed there 3 nights, the property is very clean and easy to stay. We stayed in Mixed Dorm and booked bunk bed so had some room for put things for using. Toilets auto bidet & shower rooms very clean both, The hosts were very nice both and privide good recommendation and communication was very clear. I loved the rooftop which can see & took photos with Mt. Fuji in panorama scenic...hope to stay again on next visit. The best is location near the kawaguchigo station walked about 8-10 minutes only so easy when need to checked out to next bus tor Shinjuku .

The guesthouse is great! It's about 5 mins walk from the station. You can find many restaurants on the right side and a ramen and cafe on the left. Free bikes are available so you can easily ride to the park or shrine, this is super helpful. The owner is so friendly and helpful, helped me take the huge luggage and proposed several interests to go. The place is warm and home like, actually it's a home, the owner's family live on the 1st floor so it's very nice to stay with local as an experience. The room, shower and toilet are clean. In some rooms you can see the Fuji mountain. There's a nice terrace and I really enjoyed staying there working or doing nothing. It's a little bit noisy in the day because it next to the road but totally ok in the night. Will come back again and thanks for the hospitality.

Clean. Comfortable. Friendly. Warm. Informative. The most surprising part of the stay is: they provide free access on bicycles! Which is a perfect transport in Kawaguchiko Area. Due to the cold weather, they even provide us free gloves and raincoat if needed. They also write every day’s temperature and weather on a small blackboard so you can double check the weather before going outside. The staff is super friendly that I couldn’t ask for more. They even give maps of tourist spots in Fujikawaguchiko, lead and guide you of the instructions about their space and access. I’ll definitely stay there again while returning to Fujikawaguchiko!

They do provide towel rental each for 100 yen. It would be perfect if it’s free provided. This is the only con that I can think of, which I think most of us will also agree 100 yen is not a problem, at all.

It is close to the main station, and the facilities are excellent. The staff was really friendly, they offered tips on what to see around the area, and made an effort to make small talk with me in japanese even though I only speak the language a little. There's a rooftop with amazing views of mount Fuji where you can relax and enjoy your meals/drinks, and you can rent their foldable bikes for free to visit the surrounding lakes.... Oh, and did I mention the free snacks? You get free snacks... Everything was amazing :)

My friends and I had an enjoyable stay at Fuji Guest House Ao. We booked a mixed dormitory and the bed is so comfortable. Their host are amazing. She brief us on every single thing that we need to know and show us around during check in. Upon our arrival all communication with the host was through chat feature on booking.com. Prompt reply every single time. The guest house is located nearby Kawaguchiko Station, which is about 5-10 mins walk. Convenience store and restaurants are within walking distance too. The host did a splendid job in keeping the place clean, it was spotless. There's a pantry with refrigerator, coffee machine and electric kettle that everyone can use. Free snacks, coffee, green tea and water are replenished everyday. No cooking stove though but that was not a problem for us. There are 4 toilets in total. 2 on the ground floor and another 2 on the 2nd floor where all the rooms are. Showers are located on the ground floor. You can rent towels and purchase toothbrush at a reasonable price. Shower gel, shampoo and hairdryer are free. I find the instructions that are placed at multiple area in the guest house are useful and the best thing about this place is the rooftop. The view is amazing! Mount Fuji right smack on your face during clear weather. There's mini playground for kids too. It was where we spend most of our time when we were at the guest house. They provide bicycle(well maintained) for guest to use, first come first serve. We used it on our last day to explore Kawaguchiko area. This place is perfect for those who are looking for a low to mid range stay in Kawaguchiko area. Recommended!
