The location was amazing - bus just outside the hotel and train around the corner. It was walkable to hakata station too. Fresh towels daily hung outside the door. The onsen was comfortable and there was free noodles, ice cream, and lactobacillus drink. Staff were friendly too and could speak English. Soundproofing was acceptable! You could still hear some noise in the corridor and the road but once the activities quiet down at nice it is alright. There’s a convenience store connected to the property so that was a great plus!

The space in the room and the toilet was pretty small and the flooring was carpet.

Perfect central location near Hakata station and the major areas of Nakasu and Tenjin. A FamilyMart is embedded inside the building (this seems to be Dormy Inn's property development strategy.) The onsite onsen and sauna are clean and very comforting. Free food is handed out left and right (yakult, ice cream and ramen on the daily at various hours.) The breakfast, if not included in your stay, is absolutely worth paying for for at least a few days of your visit. Most of these things are true about ALL Dormy Inns by the way. This hotel meets my expectations for Dormy Inns, and blows most other non-luxury hotels in the world out of the water. Book the club floor for free OJ and improved coffee and tea vs. the machine in the lobby as well as unlimited access to a massage chair (albeit within a smoking lounge.) It may be the same price. Availed of coin laundry which is located in each gendered bath area. The price is very affordable - wash is free, dry is 100 yen per 30 minutes.

The room fixtures are a bit dated and in the room, it was easy to find places that were not kept clean such as the overhead ceiling vents and the areas behind nightstands.

The rooms at Dormy Inn Hakata Gion are very clean. The staff are pleasant and attentive. The public bath is well maintained and relaxing. There is a Family Mart confine attached to the hotel which is very convenient. The location is excellent in relation to the station, airport and city. There is a door separating the hallways and bathroom area from the sleeping area, which is useful if two people are sharing. There are free noodles for a short time late at night.

The rooms are a little bit cramped if you are very tall or have luggage, so if you are staying for only a few days it is advisable to pack only what you need and forward the rest of your things to your next hotel or airport using a courier. One of us found the pillows a bit uncomfortable.

Good location, close to Gion metro station. Short walk to most local attractions or via metro / trains. Unique things about Dormy Inn hotel us that their onsen (hot springs are natural source, nice and hot plus they have outdoor, indoor, cold bath and sauna) They also have late evening free ramen plus drinks and popsicle included.

I wish the room is bigger but enough for two persons. Also they do not have cleaning services during the stay. But provide fresh towels each day by hanging them at your door.

All of the reception staff were excellent! , friendly and helpful beyond expectation. Especially M. Komura and K. Iwashita . And cleaning staff friendly and helpful. Rooms clean and fresh and tidy. Great location for walking to Sumo basho, restaurants and cafes, shopping etc. Easy walk from the Hakata station. Usual lovely ice treats and yakults at the onsen.

The mattress was ok, but the pillows like thin hard cardboard.

It is very convenient, near to Gion subway.

The onsen. Young boys are allowed to enter the woman’s onsen. It is worst than ‘R-rated’ show watching all the stranger aunties fully naked. If the mother wants to have special time with her boy, they should choose a private onsen for just the 2 of them. I ran away after seeing a small boy (about age 5) came into the woman’s onsen. I chose this hotel for 7 days stay because of the onsen. I will consider other hotels on my next visit to Japan.

Amenities-onsen, complimentary ramen & ice cream, laundry facilities, & convenient location to train stations. Staff were professional & helpful.

Small room w no space for more than 1 suitcase. Bathroom door is paper thin. Would be helpful to have towels in the onsen rather than transporting the room towels back & forth.

Great location in the Hakata City Center, all major shrines in walking distance. Very friendly staff. Metro station very close to the hotel with a direct connection to the airport and Hakata Train Terminal. Nice and clean Onsen.

Very large hotel. If many guests, there is a waiting line at the breakfast room and the Onsem gets a bit crowded.

I like the location of the hotel, it is walking distance from hakata or tenjin station (approx 15-20 min walk to both destinations). I also like the onsen in the hotel, especially that they offer two kinds of onsen, one indoor and one outdoor. Size of room may be small, but good enough for Japan standard where you could still have a small walkway for a little of yoga stretching and work out.

Just the pillow, it is too hard.

Perfect location, very near to GION station and Canal City Hakata, with so many restaurant around, only took me 10 min to get to Tenjin shopping area, Staff was fantastic, room was spacious enough comparing to other chain hotels, will consider visit again next time in Fukuoka.

Hot spring area was lack of resting area when many guests finish showering at the same time, aside from that everything was food.
