I stayed at Hotel Torifito Hakata Gion for 7 nights for my Fukuoka conference trip. I am extremely happy with my stay and was glad to have selected this hotel for 7 nights! 1) All of the staffs were very friendly, polite and their attention to details! Special thanks to Gushiken-san, please give her a raise ;) who guided me from the start of my booking to the day of check-in! She answered all my queries on booking.com (~5 months in advance) and helped me on the day of my check-in. 2) I love the simplicity, tidiness, cleanliness and the sound proofing of the room. I read previous reviews that the toilet has a smell but in my opinion, it is the smell of the toilet electronics and nothing to worry about. 3) Breakfast buffet was great, tasty and a wide selection. Even though most of the breakfast items were kept the same, I enjoyed it. 4) The amenities were awesome, including the public onsen (not always crowded since you probably only spent 10-15 minutes), vending machines, complimentary drinks beside the reception, and every personal care items you need. 5) Location is splendid! It is very quiet during the day and night. Located in an alley away from the busy roads yet close to plenty of great and wide variety of restaurants. 4-10 minutes walk to bus stops, train stations, canal city and Hakata station. I appreciate that I get to take these walks (~20,000 steps) daily to experience and explore the locals and their way of life. Nice hotel in a good location. The hotel looks quite new and fresh, it is clean and nice. The rooms are nice and comfort, breakfast is also ok. The location is also good - walking distance from train station, but also the streetfood area. The Staff speaks English :) They have also a small public bath, which is very nice.

Everything was ok.

The size of the room is good. Relatively spacious. Location is also near to major malls so it’s quite convenient. Little touches like free coffee and ice lollies was nice too.

The public bath was a bit messy. Sometimes I go, i find towels on the floor, toothbrush at shower area etc. Really need to educate the users. Maybe more notices can be put up to remind users to be considerate. Also when I booked on booking.com, it states the price includes all taxes but I had to pay an accommodation tax when I arrived. No biggie but I felt this should be advertised properly.

I can’t recommend Hotel Torifito Hakata Gion enough! It was absolutely perfect. We chose this hotel for its prime location close to the city center, and it turned out to be ideal for our plans to visit all the sights and shop to our hearts’ content. The staff were some of the kindest and most welcoming people, always ready to help with any questions and make sure we had a wonderful stay. The hotel also offers a great range of amenities, which made our stay even more convenient and comfortable. For anyone wanting a central location, exceptional service, and all the comforts needed for a memorable trip, Hotel Torifito Hakata Gion is a fantastic choice!

Nothing, everything was great

Location was perfect. Right in the heart of Hakata. Within 10 minutes walking to Hakata Station. Many foods choices in the area, Donqi within 10 minutes walking. Hotel was pleasant and nice. Onsen was clean and spacious, laundry was very convenient, toiletries and amenities were provided in the lobby along with tea, coffee and detox water. The room was nice but a little tight. Overall the hotel was very nice and convenient. The staff was beyond helpful and pleasant. The hotel even provided luggage service to the airport if needed.

Location was convenient. Breakfast was pleasant and had a good variety. Room was well appointed, modern, clean, and bed was comfortable. Soaking in the public bath was nice after a long day of walking, but beware of the behavior of other guests.

Unfortunately, this hotel does not provide instructions on the use of the public bath for those who may not know. It was disappointing to observe many guests entering the bath without washing first and it made the water less clean. Some guests also stood while showering and splashed on others. Guidance on etiquette should be provided for guests who are not familiar with the use of the public bath.

Lovely location in Fukuoka and the facilities at the hotel are great! They've even got a currency conversion machine in the lobby so you don't have to hassle or worry about going to an exchange!! Lovely staff and the hotel room was always kept cleaned to a great standard.

Unfortunately there seemed to be a bit of a roach problem and this made me very paranoid especially at night and after discovering a few roaches the size of my fist in the bathroom. I know this is hard to control especially during the summer but please ensure more is done to prevent the infestation!

The room was comfortable and seemed newly renovated. The bathroom was also clean and tidy with relatively wide bath tab. Room controlled air-conditioning, hair dryer, fridge, water pot, comfortable pajamas were available in the room. The receptionists were kind and friendly. I saw a few guests checking out 11:15 instead of 11:00 am but they didn’t have to pay extra for the late check-out. Open air parking was available for seven vehicles. Breakfast was available for 1,650¥ but I didn’t have enough time in the morning to try it despite of the fact it seemed very nice food.

Unfortunately, Chinese guests were rude in the public bath talking loud and acting mannerless, so I gave up using the bath. Educational instructions for using the hotel including bath should be made somehow.

Great location and helpful staff. Everything is available with English translation. Lots of lovely touches such as bidet in the bathroom, microwave, iron, laundry and seeing if the laundry and public bath is in use through the TV. The bath in the ensuite is half the size of European baths in terms of length but quite wide so suited my body shape.

Some furniture in the room had dents and chips in the wood. The chair in the room was stained and when I sat on it I suddenly got an insect bite on my thigh so I didn't use it again . The pyjamas were too small for me. I am a size UK 16/18. The public bath was crowded most of the time even at midnight. Tv only has 8 channels all of which in Japanese. The breakfast was a little disappointing in terms of choice of food. The bacon was extremely oily and no butter/toast available. No black tea available either. The pillows were filled with tiny balls like some neck pillow and small. Uncomfortable.

The room was very spacious by Japanese hotel standards. Very clean and quiet room. Breakfast was good and there is a public bath which was very nice. The TV in the room provided real time information on breakfast room congestion and status of washing machines in the coin laundry. Also provided a microwave and vending machine. Only 10-15 minute walk from Hakata station.

The bed was a little hard for me but I got used to it.
