The hosts are wonderful, gracious, and very welcoming. The hostel has a 24 hour sitting area on the first level to eat and prepare meals, including a fridge to store your perishable goods. Everything is very clean and the showers are very spacious with ample room to dress after your shower. The toilets are bidets with heated seats. There is a luggage storage area with ample room for a suitcase with a chain lock provided and a locker to store an additional piece of carry on luggage. The sleeping accommodations are very comfortable and spacious and include a private built in vanity mirror, safe, and shelf beneath the charging port. There are also two hangers located inside your bed and plenty of room to not feel crowded while you relax from your day. There is also a separate area for women available for your booking options if you feel more comfortable in a female dorm. Highly Recommend!

They respectfully ask the guests to refrain from using the showers or hair dryers between 12a-6a to be respectful of sleeping guests, so if you're planning on late night partying or looking for a party hostel this may not be for you. However, if you are looking for something clean, comfortable, and quiet for adult travelers, this is definitely your best option! Well worth the price!

I really liked the location, it’s a quick little walk to Hakata station, it’s also super close to a JP post office (if you are looking to send anything to people back home like I did) which has staff who speak pretty good English and willingness to help you with sending packages. There are lots of restaurants and convenience stores in the area as well to eat at. The early check in is also great and the timing for it worked really well for my travels, the gentleman who checked me in was super nice and very helpful when I had questions later on in my stay. I ended up extending my stay here because I really like the location to Hakata station. This is a pretty small hostel put it has everything needed to have a comfortable stay.

The early check out, I’m guessing that the early check in results in this but the beginning of the cleaning happens at that same time as check out. So if you are a light sleeper be prepared to be woken up when the cleaning staff wake people up because they have to leave in 20minutes.

This is the second time I have stayed at JAM. The first was in March 2019. Of five hostels/guest houses I have stayed at in Fukuoka, I think I like JAM best because of its price, its central location near the Hakata bus and train transportation hub, its kitchen, and its cleanliness.

Sometimes it feels a little cramped, especially when I get the bed right by the door to the women's dorm door. When the door opens, the door blocks access to bed 207. If you are sitting at the mouth of the bed, you might be blocking the door. This is not a big problem. Also, I hope that the kitchen sometime gets more pots and pans and dishware.

Great that we managed to check in early around 9am, super helpful as I was already in the area, so I didnt have to carry out bags around all day

Allowed early check-in. Aircon worked well Curtains for privacy were of a good standard.

Best is the convenient location. Only a 7 minute walk from Hakata Station. All around are convenience shops. Fukuoka city is very well laid out and pleasant to navigate. The staff was very kind and helpful, always updating me and always answering all my queries promptly. I had a pleasant stay! TQ

Regular hostel. dorm is quite spacious and locker are designed to accomodate suitcases.

when you're on the bottom bed, there's a gap between the curtain and the top bed, so people passing by can peek on you

I had an issue with my luggage and the owner was so helpful and went out of her way to help me get the luggage to my house, she helped me so much I appreciate her so much, definitely a place to stay again, owner is really sweet, I recommend!!!

It was very close to Hakata Station. Plenty of restaurants and stores close by. It was very clean and organized.

The storage area for my heavy luggage was upstairs, and there was no elevator. The common room had a motion detected light, so when I was there alone to read the lights kept shutting off.

Everything was great, had a really good time, really near the station which was really helpful, bathroom and room were really great
