Exactly what you'd expect from this chain of hotels. The room was tiny but very cozy: bed super comfortable, big tv, spacious desk, nice natural light, and all kinds of amenties. There's a convience store just downstairs. Also, very close to the main train/bus station which is convenient if you're planning to travel to other cities.

The room was really small even by japanese standards. That was absolutely clear from the picture and the description (plus if you've been to other hotels of the same chain, you know what to expect)... just something to keep in mind if you're travelling with a big suitcase.

Just a short walk from the train station, so easy to get to on arrival in Hiroshima. Early check in cost Y1000 per hour or you can leave the bags at reception until check in. My room was small but adequate for my stay: very clean and comfortable. There's a convenience store attached to the hotel which is very handy if you want a ready meal or a sandwich at a reasonable price. As it was a one night stay I can't really comment on any other facilities. I found the location very convenient for my needs, allowing me to wander around the city and then not have far to walk to the station the next day. I would definitely recommend.

No complaints

The location is pretty central. It is 5 minutes away from the train station, across the river. It is not next to the Dome (or to the cultural center), so it is a lot more quiet. The Hiroshima Dome park and the Hiroshima castle are both about 20 minutes away by foot, less if you take the bus. Very clean, very quiet. There is a nice restaurant in front of the hotel and convenience stores near. For those that fear earthquakes, it is not a tall building. Of course, these buildings, no matter how tall, are built to withstand earthquakes, but tall buildings might creep out Europeans or Americans.

Not much to complain about, aside from the fact that sometimes the AC stopped. This can be fixed by turning it up to 30. Ventilation is also annoying, as it pumps in cold air in the winter. You can stop it almost completely, which is ok.

The bed was comfortable. The TV was also very large. The public bath wasn't too crowded so that was pleasant as well. The Hiroshima station was reasonably close and if you take the underground route, you'll be sheltered from the hot/cold weather. The Video-on-demand was free so you get to watch a whole bunch of movies for free. The nearby restaurant serves the local specialty such as oysters and okonomiyaki Hiroshima style so you don't have to walk far to find a decent eatery.

The check-in was slightly inconvenient because the touch screen wasn't very responsive.

Check-in process via the machine was simple enough. There was a slight issue with the credit card reader; it kept on asking for a PIN. The person manning the counter was very quick in addressing the problem. He connected another card reader to the machine that I was using and I was finally able to finish checking in. There is a Lawson convenience store and an okonomiyaki restaurant at the ground floor of the hotel.

The hotel is around 15-20 minutes away from Hiroshima Station; it was a bit of a work-out with luggage in tow. It would be better to just take the taxi from the station to the hotel if you have a couple of bags. The Inarimachi Tram station is a 15-minute walk away.

Convenient location within walking distance of Hiroshima main train station (across the river) and access to the restaurants around the train station precinct. City view. Single room was very compact but functional and all amenities provided (including yukata for use in the pool and other facilities which I didn't use). Bathroom had large shampoo/conditioner/soap bottles which are environmentally friendly but single-use plastic wrapped other amenities (toothbrush, amenity kit etc). Wifi worked well - unique passcode displayed on the TV screen. Small desk with chair for writing and tall mirror. Note that luggage storage required a QR code system - take a screenshot when registering because the screen tried to "start again" when I returned to pick up my bags and doesn't save the existing code!

Not much space for storage - had to put my suitcase just behind the entry door and walk around it when entering/exiting room (but this is not unexpected in Japan). Front reception difficulties - hard to use the self service screens and my usual payment travel card was repeatedly declined (despite being used elsewhere in Japan) so had to use my spare credit card which was inconvenient due to transaction fees.

Convenient location about 5mins walk from the JR Hiroshima station, easy access to buses/trams/trains. Convenience store in the ground floor with the usual onigiri/sandwiches/etc so we did not get the hotel breakfast. Public onsen was large, nicely decorated and open till late. Check-in and luggage storage is done electronically, which can be quite confusing but appears to be becoming more common in similar business hotel chains, and the staff were very helpful in navigating the system. Check-out is very quick, just need to drop off the key card and all set. Bed was comfortable but only accessible from one side. Very good for a stopover but would not stay for several days, especially with large luggage.

Room was very small but typical of a Japanese business hotel. We had 2 large check-in luggage and did not have space to open them fully; only our carry-on cases could be opened under the table. Men's onsen was very crowded even near midnight, possibly due to main customer base of businessmen.

LOCATION AND MY OVER-ALL STAY! APA Hotel never fails to meet my expectations. Been staying at APA Hotels whether I'm in Tokyo, Fukuoka, Osaka and Nagoya during my trips and one thing that makes me go back and book their hotels is the location. Their Hiroshima hotel is just beside the JR Hiroshima station which is a plus for me since I'm traveling with family (senior parents and 2 toddlers below 4 years old).

Check-in process was quite a hassle since their credit card reader was not working that time so it was not seamless experience for me but this was just 1 time. Still they prioritize my check-in process even if there were quite an influx of tourists during my stay.

Great location, close to the main station and also near some street-car (tram) stations. Mahor sights (ABomb Dome, peace park, castle ..) in close proximity, about 20 minutes on foot. 45 minutes to Miyajima Ferry by street-car without changing the line. Lawson-convenience store on the first floor. Twin room very spacious compared to other APA rooms we've been in. Price slightly higher than elsewhere... must be the season. It's still worth the perfectly clean rooms. Staff in this hotel speaks notably better english than all other japanese hotels we've been in so far.

There was nothing to complain about during our stay.

Currently on a multi city trip in japan and this is my second APA stay. Everything in this one worked a lot better, I never had to wait to use the washer/dryer (you can also check on the tv how long is left so you don’t need to keep going down to the laundry room. The staff were also really helpful, even the staff that didn’t speak English used translators to make sure they could help you which is really appreciated. Again like my first apa stay I felt really safe here as a solo female traveler.

Room overheated a lot at night, I didn’t have the heating on and even kept the window but still found it way to warm.
