We were staying at renewed room high floor with refurbished room facing Sakurajima which was fantastic. The room was extremely spacious and clean. However, do bear in mind this is an old hotel and may not all rooms are refurbished an parking is chargeable of Yen 1000 per night and even though the parking lots are limited but their have an associated parking lot with ample parking space which is located merely cross the road, same parking fee applies. Convenient store is across the road and a hotto motto hopefully I pronounced correctly, sort of fast food chain that is very affordable mins away from the hotel. Going to city centre, driving is more convenient. A

Older facilities.

I had business at the nearby Kagoshima Prefectural Office just before our wedding anniversary, so my wife and I stayed three nights and celebrated our anniversary. The room was small but cozy. The internet was great. The room was clean. Breakfast was excellent. The bed was just right. Everything was clean. Parking was extra, but reasonable and convenient. I will stay here again if I have more business at the prefectural offices. My wife was happy we stayed here instead of at a cheaper place like I usually stay. The views of the Sakurajima volcano are superb. The Nishimuta supermarket and three convenience stores are close by.

There are not very many restaurants close by (in walking distance) during cold winter or hot summer days. Plenty of restaurants if you drive your own car. There are no microwaves in the rooms.

The view of Sakurajima from the lobby and dining hall is positively stunning. The room was comfortable, and even though I wasn't on the bay side, the view of the city was quite nice. Staff were very helpful, and were able to call a taxi for me at checkout. Breakfast was very good, being able to see the volcano as you dine. Additionally, they were able to accommodate me with a re-schedule for my stay after my initial trip was delayed a month due to a medical emergency, which was greatly appreciated.

As mentioned in other reviews, the rooms have central heating/cooling, so temperature regulation was a little tricky. I went in December, so the heat was on, but tend to keep my room cooler than most. This was easily remedied by simply cracking the window.

I accidently booked smoking room. I'm quite surprised smoking is allowed in public hotels. I went for lunch after 13'00 on 1st floor and the restaurant close at 14'00 but I was refused service, even befre the last order time. Was really hard to understand why. The front desk staff ensured the outdoor hot bath jacuuzi was40 degrees and above. It was actually cold water in the jacuuzi and cold water pouring into the jacuuzi ... really dont understand why claim its so nice when was actually very cold

We didn't try to the breakfast, but we had dinner the first night at ニホンリョウリテッパンヤキミナトrestaurant and enjoyed it very much. Good food, gracious service, comfortable quiet ambience. We also loved the view of Sakurajima from our 10th-floor room. It was very nice to wake up to the sun rising over the volcano, and the changing weather over Kinko Bay.

We didn't like the onsen. It was difficult to access, requiring walking down two flights of outdoor stairs, and the water was dangerously hot. We tried getting into it but probably would have incurred burns if we'd actually submerged.

The views of Sakurajima were beautiful. The room was clean and quiet. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was also very modern and comfortable. A good place to stay after a long day of travelling.

The location was very out of the way - 45 minutes by bus from the main station and another 50 minutes in the morning to the ferry port. This is okay, but please plan accordingly.

We LOVED the view from our room, looking out to Sakurajima. The room was spacious,clean and had a nice bathroom. Staff were friendly and helpful. Buffet breakfast was tasty with lots of choice. Plenty of combinis and food places nearby.

The location is quite far away from the main tourist attractions - about 30-50 mins by tram/bus to Kagoshima Chuo station, Sakurajima ferry port etc. It was a shame the pool wasn't open, but I suppose it's still early in the season. We really loved the hotel though, so these things didn't matter too much!

Nice hotel, roofed parking space for a decent price right next to the hotel. Very nice breakfast selection. Standard Japanese-size hotel room.

Some minor issues with the receptionist speaking English, but nothing which would hinder understanding significantly. He was very kind though. Written signs and written notes pre-prepared by the hotel helped us understand the main message.

I contacted the property to see if we could drop our bags about 5 hours early as we were traveling with 2 young kids and a lot of luggage to make our day easier, when we arrived to the hotel to drop our bags they had our room ready and let us check in early. Staff were so nice and helpful. They organised taxis for us and nothing was to hard for them to help us. Great place to stay.

Its location is amazing, waking up with that view is breath taking! The staff was incredibly nice and polite. Having access to the outside onsen at the hotel was awesome after a long day of walking.

It’s a bit dated and the access to the outside onsen is tricky when going down with 3 small kids and not very pretty.
