It was in a nice location and it was very well kept.

Nothing really. The staff was lovely and attentive and it felt like we were really being taken care of. The kaiseki meal was beautifully prepared and presented however I don’t think it was our taste. Not because of the facility but for personal flavor preference. But the breakfast was delightful and delicious!

2 specific things to compliment: The shuttle service to and from restaurant of choice in town is very considerate for guest who do not choose dining in hotel. This together with the whatsapp servicing channel that they provide makes the dinner experiencevery easy Great concept with the onsen arrangement. Instead of one big public bath, 8 private onsens are available for guests to book in 45 mins sessions. It provides a much more pleasant and exclusive experience, definitely a selling point at this price point. We tried no. 2 and 4 and 6. Number 2 is the biggest outdoor one and highly recommended.

we really enjoyed the warmest hospitality and was really amazed by how all staff went beyond our expectations even on tiny requests that we made. There are private baths available for booking, 45 mins per slot, this place is perfect for couples, honeymooners and those seeking privacy at a reasonable price. All indoor and outdoor private onsen are beautifully decorated, we particularly loved the golden hot spring! Dinner was amazing and the Chief Chef never fail to surprise us, we looked forward to our dinner every night. Each party has a designated private room for dinning and meals were served by the same member of staff, we enjoyed chatting with the friendly staff members :) We had a really wonderful time and we can’t wait to come back again!! Thank you once again for the warmest hospitality and for the unforgettable Japanese onsen experience ❤️

if we must make a suggestion, it would be great to have wechat or whatsapp to arrange free shuttle service as we didnt have a working Japanese number for calls. But the locals are also very friendly and wouldnt mind helping us make the phone calls to the hotel to have it arranged. :)

Excellent service and staff. The private onsen rooms were wonderful and easy to book. We used the outdoor ones which were beautifully designed and quiet with fresh air. We also enjoyed the spacious suite that we stayed in which also had its own bath. The tatami room and futons were a nice touch. The property has a mini-bus shuttle to take us to points in town when we didn’t feel like walking or had luggage. Be sure to book kaiseki meals at the restaurant or try the in-room breakfast. The food is delicious.

Everything about the property was idyllic, we stayed in the King room with Spa and it met every one of our expectations. The room was fantastic, spa bath and outdoor seating area overlooking the beautiful garden was serene. We opted for breakfast in the room and is was well proportioned and delicious. The ease of booking one of the many private onsens available meant that you can soak all your stress away and the Ginzen waters are sublime.

Not a complaint, but be aware that if you are vegetarian or vegan you might struggle with the breakfasts. We loved the delicious fish each morning.

The complimentary shuttle service made us feel truly privileged during our visit, though it is a common offering among ryokans in Arima. The staff were exceptionally attentive and easy to reach via WhatsApp and other means. The ryokan is conveniently accessible to the town area through a shortcut that involves stairs or a short hike, which we thoroughly enjoyed for its quiet and safe ambiance. Total 8 private Onsen.

There is no public Onsen. Each room can only reserve one private Onsen (1 out of 8) each time and reserve again after each time. If the room stay more than 2 persons, you have to wait or rotate bathing time. Wish they allow at least 2 Onsen booking if each room stay more than 2 persons.

The Onsen is wonderful. You can book your private onsen free of charge for 45 minutes. We booked 1 in the evening then another one the following morning. It is clean and spacious. No wonder it is one of the top 3 Onsen in Arima. It is quite expensive but it is worth the money. They have free flowing coffee juice and ice popsicle

There is a portion where wifi is a bit slower but if you move closer to the door the wifi is faster. I had a little hard time sleeping since I am not used to soft futon, we are relatively big and heavy in size. But my sister used the extra futon and combined it to make a comfortable bed.

Our room was amazing, both the room and hotel are very clean. The room was quiet, our private onsen and garden were beautiful we enjoyed them a lot. There is a cattle in the room with tea and also a coffee maker. The staff was amazing, really friendly, very attentive and helped with all our questions. They reserved restaurants for us and brought us with a car to the restaurants. They also helped with arranging transport for our luggage to the next hotel. There was also a dedicated English speaking staff member. The location of the hotel is also great, it's higher up in Arima, which makes it nice quiet.

Cleverly designed onsen hotel that offers 8 hot spring baths for the family to enjoy privately. We tried both outdoor and indoor ones and both were amazing! They can be booked using QR and you can book as many times as you wish! Yes, it’s freezing outdoors but once you get in the pool you will be fine. In the outdoor pool, you are surrounded by amazing Japanese gardens. The guest room is clean and comfortable and staff members are super friendly and helpful. We booked a room with private bath but it turns out it was unnecessary. We ended up using the hotels baths multiple times. What a fantastic experience!

The room with private spa bath was spacous and comfortable. We didn't have dinner but they brought us a fresh fruit platter. The staff were accommodating in English and booked a table at a local restaurant for us, plus they provided a driver to collect us after dinner. We booked an outdoor onsen which had both silver and gold spas, and it was a magical feeling to soak outside by night. I would say there's no absolute need for a spa room as all the onsen are private anyway (which avoids problems if you have tattoos) - unless you're coming at a very busy season, and you have the choice of indoor or outdoor. The advantage of this room is you can get another onsen session in before breakfast without having to book or wait! Breakfast was a fusion of east and west, served at our preferred time also in a private room, with freshly cooked egg dishes and a variety of fruit, cereal, bread and drinks. You also have the choice of a Japanese breakfast. It would make a very romantic getaway.

No bad points. The hotel is a fair bit higher up the mountain than the town, but we just rang them when we arrived and were soon collected from the station. The walk down to the restaurant was pleasant and not too steep, allowing a chance to see the town. They also drove us down to get our train on leaving.
