Clean, fairly spacious. Great location for shops, restaurants and staying centrally to visit all the sites. Laundry and added bonus!!!

Only slight thing to note for others is if you’re a light sleeper being ear plugs, especially if room overlooks the main road. Stays noisy till late but it’s not a huge issue just worth noting if you this is something that would bother you.

The hotel is centrally located in the shopping district, surrounded by restaurants, drug stores, convenience stores, etc. Nishiki Market is just a short walk away. Two train stations nearby. Very pleasing and tasteful decor. Our rooms were spotless when we checked in, and they were cleaned every day, with the towels and complimentary bottled water replaced daily. The standard double room was a bit of a squeeze, but we can't really complain, considering the price point and the location. We enjoyed the beverage bar at the lobby, which dispenses coffee and cocoa most hours of the day.

We are thankful that the hotel provided two pillows for each guest, but we could not get used to the firmness - one was a bit too hard while the other was too soft.

The photos and ratings didn't fully represent how perfect this property is. The location couldn't be better. Walking distance to Everything. Only a 13 minute bus ride to Kyoto station also. Comfortable room; larger then most in Japan. Boutique hotel look and feel. Already trying to plan a return trip when we can stay longer.

Literally nothing could have been better. My only complaint is that I didn't book a longer stay. And I wish they offered their pajamas for sale. My husband and I both would have purchased them.

The hotel is located at a very busy street, just about 300m to the nearest station and about 200m from the bus stop that ride straight to Kyoto station with city bus 205 or 04. At 1st floor of the building, there is a drug store that has good price. The hotel is right next to the alley that leads to Nishiki market, and just a few steps to the Don Quijote. There are about 5 malls along that street and many other game centres and toy stores. It is a modern Kyoto area for tourists so you can find many good restaurants nearby, just a few minutes of walk. The room is so big for 2, about twice - triple size of other 3 star hotels in Tokyo. They have seperated spaces for wc and shower and sink, that is very impressive. All the amenities are not equipped in the room but you can take what you want at the reception hall at 2nd floor. We got the corner room on 8th floor, which gave us the best view to see surrounding street. They have large lounge at the reception hall, with comfortable sofas and a coffee machine that let guests drink unlimited, and it is quite tasty, better than Starbucks lol. Guests can take a rest there comfortablely

The price is actually high, maybe because we come in Sakura season and on the weekend as well. The price for breakfast is also expensive, about 2000y per person, while the food range is just okay, not that impressive. One downside of locating at a busy street is that you might feel it is quite noisy at night with the vehicles and youngsters chatting loudly on the street (there are a few karaoke places nearby). I slept on the 8th floor but I can still here the noise sometimes.

Location perfect, nearly everything is within walking distance. Shops, restaurants, Nishiki market, Geisha quarter metro stations at the door step. The hotel freshly renovated, in full Japanese style, but big enough. The breakfast was ok, very Japanese as well. We stayed 4 nights, and there was variety of the breakfast. I asked rooms on the higher floors, so I could enjoy the view through the windows facing the street. The windows can be opened, so you can have fresh air.

Wifi connection was not quite good. If one does not like the Japanes style, will not be fully satisfied. The street, since the hotel on the main shopping areas, quite loud, the isolation of the windows only mitigate this. The staff was very kind, but the lack of the proper English language knowledge was an obstacle. (This is valid almost everywhere in Japan.)

My stay at Hotel Musse Kyoto Shijo Kawaramachi Meitetsu was fantastic. The room exceeded expectations – spacious enough for two big luggage with a well-thought-out distribution of space. Despite its central location, the rooms were surprisingly quiet, providing a peaceful retreat. The added convenience of washing machines and driers was a pleasant surprise, and the location couldn't be better for exploring Kyoto. Highly recommended!

One minor drawback is the limited availability of laundry machines. With only two machines, securing one can be a bit challenging.

Hotel Musse Kyoto Shijo Kawaramachi Meitetsu is a fabulous hotel in the heart of Kyoto. The hotel is within walking distance of many of Kyoto's most popular attractions, including the Nishiki Market, Kiyomizu-Dera Temple, and the Gion district. The hotel has a restaurant, a bar, and a fitness center — but we only had breakfast, which was included and delicious, by the way. The staff is friendly and helpful. They are always willing to go the extra mile to ensure guests have a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Overall, Hotel Musse Kyoto Shijo Kawaramachi Meitetsu is a great choice for travelers looking for a comfortable and convenient hotel in the heart of Kyoto.

A little extra space in the room would've been the cherry on top.

Breakfast was ample and had lots of vegetables, fish, meat, eggs and beverages.The facility felt safe. The decor was more colorful than in similar hotels where I stayed. Free freshly made coffee in the lobby was nice. Everything worked like it should. The room layout was good.

The hotel is in a really busy, noisy, crowded area. My room facing the front was VERY noisy. There was a sewer smell in the bathroom sometimes but the air freshener took care of it. The pajamas were not comfortable and only came in one size. It wasn't convenient for the JR station.

This is our second visit to Kyoto within a year, and once again, we chose to stay at Hotel Musse. When planning our trip, I asked my kids which hotel they wanted, and they immediately chose Hotel Musse. The location is excellent, offering convenient access to everything. The staff is exceptionally friendly, and there is always someone available who speaks English. The breakfast was also very good. We would definitely return if we visit Kyoto again.

Location is fantastic! Right in the middle of a bustling street so there's always something to do or eat near the hotel. Our room was facing a back alley so there was hardly any noise from the main street. Staff was very friendly and helpful!

Room was a little small. Breakfast could do with more variety and more vegetarian and vegan friendly options. Not all food signs indicated if the food has fish or meat inside. Some of the staff didn't know English very well which made it hard to communicate but otherwise they were very helpful and nice!
