I was actually really caught back at how fancy this hotel is! Everything is extremely clean and new, the rooms are well equipped (TV, air conditioner, humidifier, water cooker) and the bathroom is also very spacious. There's also a public bath for those that like bigger baths! Overall a very enjoyable experience staying at this hotel and if I'm ever going to visit Kyoto again I will definitely be looking up its availability again!

The room was spacious but not enough to fit three beds -- it was a bit tight getting out of bed. The space around the lockers in the public bathroom was also kind of tight, so if there's a crowd you have to wait to get your stuff.

Literally a 10/10 experience at this hotel! The staff were so accommodating and helpful. We loved it so much we extended our stay 2 extra nights and they helped us with that! The room is comfortable, modern and the bed is even more comfortable. I think the highlight for us was the onsen in the hotel. They had showers supplied with shampoo, conditioner soap and skincare. It was basically a spa right inside of the hotel you have access to while you stay. The traditional Japanese breakfast was delicious and we paid for it 2 of the mornings we weee there. Location only 10 minutes from JR station and near Nijo Castle. Highly recommend!

Nothing, loved it all!

The stay was excellent. The room was way beyond my expectations especially with the price I paid. The room has a fabric and air spray, all bathroom necessities smelled so good. The pillows were just the perfect amount of softness. The comforter was so fluffy like cloud. There was also an air purifier/ dehumidifier inside the room. It was also near a 24/7 convenience store. I don't know if these points are standard in all hotels in kyoto or japan but It exceeded my expectations in its price point. I am the type that doesn't give online reviews often but this place was that good for me to compose this one.

Location is good, close to Nijo station, but not in the center of Kyoto. We didn’t mind + it’s only a short walk to Nijo castle (1300¥ to visit inside + gardens) The imperial palace is more far and free, but Nijo castle is nicer!

I am absolutely in awe of this hotel. The staff was incredibly nice and helpful, and even though all the staff had good English, they always had someone fluent in English available if needed. While we were there, they helped us organize the transport of our suitcases to our next hotel in Tokyo. They contacted the next hotel to make sure this was all right with them and helped us fill out the appropriate forms. The room was one of the most spacious rooms out of the 6 hotels we stayed in while we visited Japan. Everything in the room was very nice, from the pyjamas provided to the toiletries. It is also in a great location, very well connected to some major tourist attractions like Nijo Castle (a short walk away), Kinkakuji (a short bus ride away), and Arashiyama (a short train ride away). It is very close to the metro so traveling to different parts of Kyoto isn´t a problem at all. It is also right across from a konbini with an ATM and next to a great Soba restaurant and a nice little café. The public baths are very nice and clean, and there are Dyson hairdryers available and hairstyling tools. I will definitely stay here again when I return to Kyoto.

The toilet room had a bit of a weird smell, but nothing overpowering. The rooms aren´t cleaned every but every other day. They do provide fresh towels every day. These are very minor complaints though and don´t take away from the stay.

The excellent buffet breakfast and public hot bath make this hotel a notable stay. Friendly staff and comfortable clean room.

The location isn’t ideal but if you are prepared to walk/train/bus then it won’t be an issue for tourists.

Super nice hotel in Kyoto, still new and fresh. Helpful staff, the onsen onsite was more then welcome after a whole day of walking. Laundry can be done here with the current status of laundromats shown on tv in your room. Convenience stores nearby (although i recommend going to Life supermarket which is 5 minutes from the hotel)

One thing that could make this hotel perfect is the location. While you have bus stops and Nijo train station quite nearby all the attractions we had planned to visit in Kyoto required quite a bit of transportation in the city. Otherwise our stay in La'gent was near-perfect and I can recommend it.

The room was really modern, with great lighting, the beds were comfortable and the wifi connection was super fas and reliable. It was nice to have a small fridge, and small table on the room. Several useful items were provided, for example water boiler, hair dryer, phone charger, tissue paper, mirror, alarm clock, indoor slippers and clothes. The staff was also really friendly. Toiletries(toothbrush, toothpaste, hair clip, ear picker) were not placed in every room but could be taken in the hall as needed, which is environmentally friendly. The location of the hotel is really nice, it is in walk distnce from Nijo Station and multiple buses stop next to the hotel as well heading to Kyoto station and several popular tourist places.

Major issue: New towels were provided every day, which is not particularly environmentally friendly, and it was not possible to cancel this service. Minor issues: The blankets were extra thick, which was too warm at night. There was an additional 2800 JPY tax which was not indicated on the booking website of the hotel. The window looked at the wall of the house next door. This depends on the orientation of the room, however it is was not indicated on the website, which room will have sight from the window and wich not.

From the moment we entered the hotel, everything was new and clean, surprising us with its freshness. The room, boasting Japanese standards, was spacious, impeccably clean, and furnished with all necessary amenities, even including pajamas. Adjacent to the reception, all essential toiletries, an ice machine, vending machines, as well as coffee and tea, were conveniently available. The staff, particularly the helpful French guy aiding us with luggage transport, was excellent. The onsen proved delightful, and the quality cosmetics, alongside the Dyson hairdryer and iron, left me super excited. Styling my hair became a joy, especially after not having a hair iron in Japan due to the European plug. In hindsight, these small things meant a lot, adding to the overall delightful experience. :)

I was expecting a great hotel, but it was amazing instead! The staff was so great, and we had no problems understanding each other. The toilet and facilities were clean and worked without problems. The location, while not close to train stations, it is 2 min walk from the Bus Station which can be taken directly from the train station and it is within walking distance from Nijo Castle and Kyoto Imperial Palace. It also has a great open bath. Booked the hotel again when I returned to Kyoto and I would do it again.
