Absolutely brilliant location in Gion. Just across the river, away from the main shopping and entertainment area but only a short scenic 8 minute walk away. Tube station nearby so getting around was easy. Just outside the hotel were numerous local restaurants both affordable and expensive. Although we never tried any one of them they always seemed to be full every time we walked by. Room was a good size, bigger than I expected and the decor was nice. Has all the amenities you would need. Staff spoke good English and were polite and helpful

Bathroom was a bit small. No closet or drawers to put clothes in. Old school lock and key system for the doors.

The room was comparably big. The beds were comfortable. The location was in walking distance to public transport and the center!

No common seating area or attached cafe/bistro. So you had to go outside for everything.

We booked the Japanese style room to accommodate 3 people. The design of the room was a very smart use of a smaller space but still felt spacious and had tasteful traditional elements. The shower and tub combo was also awesome with really good water pressure. Staff was very accommodating and kind. They were able to help us with luggage delivery as well. The hotel is in a fantastic location, walking distance to many great temples, Gion-Shijo station, the Kamo River, 7-11, great restaurants, a Kimono rental shop, and the main shopping street. Would stay here again!

There are no hooks to hang towels to dry but the hotel offers free daily towel and trash change, upon request which worked great.

The room was spacious and The facilities were clean and well appointed. I loved the blend between western and Japanese facilities, particularly the tatami area which was lovely for enjoying matcha and snacks purchased during the day in the Kyoto, and the Japanese bath was very relaxing. The location was fantastic for public transport, bars, and both the old and modern city. Note, if you want a substantial dinner every night you might have to go across the river, as the area mostly specialises in bar snacks and seasonal traditional meals.

I have nothing negative to say, everything was wonderful. One coin laundry was broken when we visited, but I'm sure they will fix it soon.

Everything about this hotel was excellent!! The staff were extremely helpful, we were able to communicate in English, offered luggage delivery and storage, and we're very communicative. The hotel is so conveniently located in the Gion area, right next to the beautiful and serene Kenninji temple which was absolutely gorgeous, easy walk to major attractions! Honestly one of the best stays we've had in Japan. Highly recommend this hotel if you want a convenient location, beautiful interior and exterior, and serene and traditional surrounding! Will be coming back here again. Thank you!

Although the room is small, the layout is comfortable and reasonable, and the front desk service staff is young, handsome, beautiful, professional and polite.

The mattress is too soft and the pillows are not very comfortable.

This hotel is amazing - book it! Our room had a balcony with a small zen garden! The bathroom has a shower and soaking tub which was wonderful after long days of walking. The hotel is clean, comfortable, spacious, there is a washer/dryer and the hotel is located just a few minutes walk from major sites/transportation but is in a nice quite area. The nearest 7-11 is a 3 min walk. We absolutely loved our experience here and would definitely stay again!

Dryer requires multiple dry cycles for clothes to be dry and not damp. But was happy to have access to a washer and dryer at all.

I had a great time at Rinn Gion K. The staff were all super friendly and helpful with my various questions throughout my stay. The facilities were also clean and it seems like they keep the place well maintained. The location was key as well. The hotel is super close to and is somewhat in the action—the area is pretty lively for Kyoto. Because I was so close to so many attractions, I was able to easily escape back to my air conditioned room for a few minutes each midday and rest before heading onto my next adventure. Which was great in the heat!

Location is perfect for proximity to major attractions. You can walk to Yasaka Shrine, Hokan-ji Temple Pagoda, Ninenzaka lane and more. It's adjacent to Kenninji Temple, Kyoto"s oldest Zen temple which is absolutely stunning. Also it took us only about 15-20 min to get to Inari Fushimi via the Gion metro station. The room was spacious by Japanese standards, clean and the bed comfortable. The hotel is close to Pontocho for bars and eats.

Can fault the hotel in any way.

We loved staying at this boutique hotel during our stay in Kyoto, and it was our favorite during our 10 day trip in Japan. We stayed in a double twin room and it is enormous given the typically room size of a hotel in Japan. I loved that there are only 4 rooms per floor and we did not once hear others entering or exiting their room. Check-In was a breeze and both front desk staff were helpful and spoke English well, and were great with some tips on places to visit. The hotel was also in a great location. It is about a 15 minute walk to Ninezaka Street and a 5 minute walk to the beautiful Kenninji Temple. The nearest train station was about an 8 minute walk. There was also a great ramen restaurant just around the corner. Again our family loved this hotel and location.

Check-In time was at 4 here, so it is a bit later than usual, but the front desk staff were helpful in holding our luggage until then.
