20 minute ish walk from the main kyoto station.. however only a short walk to a closer subway station. free brekky in the morning was nice and free tea and coffee to drink at any time. rooms are cleaned every day if you wish.. fresh sheets and towels

Breakfast was very basic but free and handy if you’re going out early or on a budget. The lounge was lovely to hang out in, shower rooms were amazing. Staff were helpful, Haruko especially made our stay very nice.

There is no detergent available in the laundry room so you must buy a box in the shop which is inconvenient. Our main issue was with the air conditioning in our room, we had constant issues with it turning off and found it very difficult to sleep during the night as our room was so hot. We had to go to reception every day to ask them to fix it and then it would happen again. This was very unfortunate as it would have been very comfortable otherwise.

Provided a small breakfast and even midnight ramen (cup ramen) which was very nice as well as free water and tea at lounge. Private room booked had good amenities provided and was big, clean, private and quiet, even though it was on 1ST floor and near elevators; loved the separation of toilet, shower and sink areas as it made access easy for what you need without disturbing your partner like my partner can be on the toilet while I can wash my hands in comparison to typical full bathrooms where all 3 would be locked behind one door.

Pillows could have been better; too flat and did not like that it's a beaded pillow as it's not comfortable. Bed may be a bit hard for some people, but I was fine with it since it was only for one night.

Absolutely outstanding and amazing place. As a lone traveller with two teenage boys, I felt so safe, warm and welcome at WeBase. The rooms were bright, clean and comfortable. The shared shower facilities I was at first worried about, but honestly, DO NOT BE WORRIED. They are like what you would find at a very expensive spa. So clearn, inviting and it never bothered me that I didn't have my own bedroom. Amazing free breakfast and ramen in the evening. We weren't a huge fan of the breakfast, but it was free and so we would not complain. Loved the complimentary umbrellas for use each day, plus all the free extras such as toothpastes. Honestly this place has to be seen. Would highly recommend.

Pillows we're so uncomfortable! Almost felt as if they had wood chippings in. Dryers don't work that well downstairs and so cost us quite a bit to run them. Please don't let rhis affect you going though. The place is amazing and can't wait to come back someday.

WeBase had a really nice location, compared to the hotspots of Kyoto it was also more calm. As a couple in a hostel we were positively surprised how convenient everything was. There were a lot of shower on the underground floor and they were very clean. Each floor provided toilets as well. The room looked as in the pictures. The personnel was very friendly and helped us with our suitcase delivery to Osaka. We are happy with our choice to stay at WeBase and would do it again!

It would have been great if the windows could be opened. On a rainy day the air was very humid and hot in the room and opening the door or putting on air conditioner wasn’t helping much. And maybe a small luxury problem but a few more jacket hangers or something like a mini shelve would have been very convenient to put your stuff somewhere.

The stay was really good. It was nice and quiet at night, the staff was very friendly and helped us a lot, it was clean and the offer of hotel facilities were great (powder room for ladies, blowdrier, toothbrush, shower gel etc. was there, sink in the room, and much more.) the hostel looked really beautiful making an overall good feeling. If you are looking for the highest quality hostel you can get for this price, you will be at the right place at WeBaseKyoto!

The bed was too hard for me and I woke up with back pain. The breakfast was 2 plastic packed sandwiches one with a sausage and one with egg. The window was very small you had basically no daylight in the room, but you go to japan for sightseeing and not to stay in the room so it’s okay.

This hostel is amazing! Not only the staff is super friendly, but they offer a lounge area with a lot of comfort: games, books, couch, coffee, tea, breakfast, noodles. All for free! The shared showers are spotless, the powder room offers extra amenities. And the private bedroom is super comfortable. Small but enough for its purpose of sleeping. The free breakfast was a surprise for me as I did not book anything. It's the same everyday but it's tasty. Definitely one of the best accommodations we had during our whole trip to Japan!

It was close to public transport stations and the beds were pretty confortable. The place was clean overall and it was good for a short stay (no more than 5 days)

Under the mattress there was quite some dirt and crumbs. The pillows were a bit flat and uncomfortable but overall it was fine. We did not expect that we had to pay extra taxes so it was a surprise when we arrived, but we might not have read everything clearly so it could be our fault as well

absolute everything!! the place is new and sooo beautiful! amazing facilities (especially the women’s powder/shower room at the 4th floor and the common area next to the entrance), comfy beds, we didn’t hear any one else even though they have a lot of rooms, staff was super helpful and friendly, daily room cleaning if you like, breakfast included (nothing fancy but still), tea/coffee/water etc for free, kitchen very well equipped! great location. 10/10, my favorite stay in a long time.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. We requested an additional night and it was arranged without a problem. It was very clean, both the rooms and the general areas. We stayed in a room with a double bed and was very satisfied with the comfort. There was a bathtub in the basement which we appreciated a lot.

It says "private bathroom" when you book it, but there's nothing private about them. They are shared as you need to go down the corridor to use the toilet. The showers are also shared. The toilet seats was to warm.
