Very centrally located near the castle and other walkable locations. Staff was helpful in arranging to forward our luggage to our next destination and making dinner reservations for us. They provide a useful restaurant list for guests.

It was all fine. Room was a bit small but we didn’t opt for the most expensive castle view room.

The location near Matsumoto Castle was very good. There was a 7-11 right near the castle entrance which was very convenient because there was hardly any choice in restaurants around the hotel for dining, so we had to make do with convenience store snacks because we were too tired to go far for dinner at night. The room was well appointed. The beds were very comfortable. The kitchenette with kettle, microwave and refrigerator was very welcome. Quite large breakfast selection with a separate Japanese and Western section. All day free tea/coffee in the lobby was welcome, and one morning I even found chocolates :-D Very pleasant and helpful staff who could communicate in basic English.

There was a French restaurant (and also a Japanese restaurant if I remember right) advertised in the elevator but found there was no such restaurant in the hotel. That was disappointing. The hotel needs to let us know that the entrance is on the side street, as there is nothing in the front on the main street to indicate where the hotel is, let alone the entrance is (this is where Google map tells you to stop).

Our room was very comfortable and had views of the mountains in the distance. We also liked the fact that most of the places of interest in Matsumoto city were within easy walking distance of the hotel. We also noticed that the reception desk displayed flags of the non-Japanese nationalities staying at the hotel on a given day.

Although the breakfast room was grand (being the lobby of a former bank in Art Deco style), the food was somewhat disappointing as not everything seemed fresh, at least on the first day of our stay (probably because there were few guests breakfasting that day). There are cafés in the vicinity so one doesn't necessarily need to eat breakfast at the hotel.

Excellent location within walking distance of the Castle and interesting small restaurants in a nearby area of older style buildings. All staff were very efficient, friendly and helpful. Rooms were comfortable, clean and furnished to a good standard. A very extensive buffet breakfast (the best of the holiday) was taken in a magnificent, double-height, dining room.

Nothing, other than the external entrance was rather offputting when we first arrived by taxi. We thought we had been deposited in a backstreet outside a redundant shop unit as the glazed entrance doors appeared to have been entirely blanked out with white paint. Fortunately this initial impression was quickly dispelled once we entered the building into an elegant corridor and Reception area!

The Internet accessibility and signal strength was 10/10. I had zero issues connecting to company vpn and office 365 cloud applications. The kitchen was equiped with coffee/tea, kettle, large refrigerator. We did use the in-room laundry which came in very handy.

I can't think of anything.

Lovely new hotel--combination of modern yet warm and charming. Room larger than average for Japan, in our experience. Super comfy beds, very clean and neat. Is a bit farther from the train/bus station than many other hotels, but worth the extra 5-7 minute walk to have a more quiet neighborhood. If you check in and don't feel like walking far for a meal, try Minato--small, local, friends of the chef cluster at the bar and add to a fun atmosphere, good food. Hotel staff were English-fluent, which we appreciated.

I wouldn't make any changes!

Location besides castle and main Center. The staff especially Azumi (I hope I got the name right) was super helpful for all of our many requests and had a very comprehensive list of restaurants at hand ! We went to a recommended yakatori 2 min away. It was so authentic and food was tasty!! We had the chef’s recommendation. The executive/superior room was large and well appointed with many amenities. My parents were very comfortable in it.

We planned to stay only one night at this hotel. The hotel is a 10-15 min walk from Matsumoto JR station and is literally around the corner from Matsumoto castle. We could see it from our room window. The rooms are huge compared to other Japanese hotels we stayed at, and they were very luxurious, except maybe the tv which is a little dated though perfectly functional. We don't usually care about the tv but on this occasion one of us got food poisoning (unrelated to the hotel I should say!) so we stayed another night and spend more time in the room. Probably the best hotel to have this small hiccup to our travel. The staff were also super understanding and helpful. For example, they helped with phoning up our next destinations to which we'd now arrive a day later, to change reservations. I got the impression that most of the reception staff have enough English vocabulary to check you in and inform you about the wifi and breakfast etc, which was really helpful. But then when we found ourselves in this more complex situation I think it was the manager who was available and his English was really great. Thanks again to the hotel and Mr Kamijo specifically :)

Clean, simple hotel that is 1-2 blocks from Matsumoto castle and Nawate street. All of the local sights to see are within 15 minute walk. Beds are comfortable, and room includes all of the amenities I would want in a hotel. Elaborate breakfast included within a beautiful Venue attached to the property. Was able to check my luggage before and after check in with the front desk.

Although larger than most hotel rooms in Japan, not enough space on floor to fully open my luggage.

Perfect location, quick check-in, parking nearby, clean rooms, helpful front reception staff

Side table and electrical outlet on only one side of the bed, slight musty smell in the room (went away when AC was on)
