The hotel is across the street from Rhythm Wadano, which was convenient for renting our skis and was the pick-up point for our day tour to the snow monkeys. The hotel must have been prestigious when it was built, the rooms are very clean and of a very good size with a large bathroom (with a separate room for the toilet), the lobby area is huge and there are 3 restaurants on site (one seems to have closed). The service standards reflect the prestige, too, with gentlemen supervisors making sure that each team abide by their high standards. The breakfast buffet offered a wide choice of food of good quality and preparation. The onsen was very clean and had an indoor and outdoor pool.

It is an old property, so some people would find it dated. Because it is very well maintained, I would say it's "vintage". We had a problem looking for where to have dinner. You need to reserve your table with the reception ahead of time and some nights, there was no available table for us. On our first night we made do with pizza at their bar. Luckily, we found a pub behind Rhythm Wadano across the street. And on Christmas eve, we scored a table at Mimi's Restaurant next door. The nearest convenience stores were in the middle of "town", a good 20-30 minutes walk away (in the snow).

The property is well located, clean, equipped with a beautiful onsen, interesting restaurant with traditional Japanese style cuisine and wonderful views of the mountains. However, above all else, the Tokyo has an amazing staff. All we’re kind, welcoming and helpful. In particular, the younger gentleman working the ski rental facility was able to answer all of our questions and ensured we had what we needed for a great day on the slopes at Happo One. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

All it needs are some cosmetic upgrades such a new carpet and some features to make the place seem more up to date.

Decent breakfast with wide choice of Japanese and Western items. Walking distance to Happo One slopes and shuttle access to many others On-site onsen is a huge plus for relaxing after ski Exceptional service, all staff went above and beyond to make arrangements and provide tips and info Walking distance to many restaurants

The room furniture and fittings are a bit dated, TV a bit small and very limited channels for those planning on watching TV. No convenience stores in the proximity, plan ahead if you need something for the evening.

Exceptional service and attention especially 2 young male staff who spoke good English. 1 of them who is a trainee from Korea recommended a very nice Izakaya for dinner and offered to take our family photo when we checked out. The other young man who is Japanese kindly offered to store our luggage for the day while we explored Iwatake Resort upon checking-out. Nice view from the room. 10 - 15 mins drive to cafes and restaurants at Echoland.

Room was small for triple sharing.

Our stay was short, only one day . But walking round the hotel building was interesting because there were traces of historical events that aroused my curiosity since I was a retired history teacher. If time is available, I'd like to revisit your hotel in future🙂

At first, I thought I'd have a dinner in Japanese crusine, but it was in French style. As we're health-conscious people, we don't like to consume butter in our food. But it might arouse difficulty to the chef.

Hotel Staff was attentive and excellent. Breakfast was fabulous. Very convenient to Rhythm ski rental shop across the street.

Not the hotels issue but the shuttle buses in the resort need to have a rack on the outside for skis. Makes zero sense to have bring your skis into the bus.

The breakfast buffet was great plenty of freshly made goodies. The staff was great friendly accommodating and very professional

The price was a little high but this is a high-end hotel. And it's in a resort area so it was expected.

Beautiful scenery around the hotel that we can take pictures. Big space and comfortable beds.

The furniture seems old fashion to me and the toilet floor seems old.
