I stayed here for 7 nights and this is probably one of THE BEST hostels I’ve ever stayed in. The place is located in the quieter area of Sapporo, 7-minute walk from Maruyama Koen Station and 20 minutes walk to Hokkaido Jingu. There’s also a 24-hour supermarket and 7/11 nearby. I rented a room in the female only dormitory. The bed is HUGE and there is enough space for your luggage. Lockers are also provided for each guest. The toilets and shower rooms are located inside the room. They provide basic amenities like body and face towels, inside slippers, razor, shampoo, conditioner and body soap so you don’t have to worry about bringing your own. They clean the dormitory everyday which is a plus. I highly recommend this hostel especially for female solo travelers! Definitely will be staying here again on my next trip to Hokkaido!

Cleanliness, space, design, location and set up of the family room. We were able to cook our food inside the room.

Strict on their policy about the number of occupants in the family room. We are a family of 5, 3 kids (ages 22, 15 and 9). Their family room is only good for 4 people. Tried requesting for the 9yo kid to be accomodated for free, for a discounted or add’l fee to stay with the family in the family room however it was denied. We ended up paying for another bed in the dormitory on another floor which we barely used as the kids wanted to stay together in the family room.

Family rooms with nice cosy beds, especially the comforter, the best among all that I stayed. Location is 3 mins walk to subway. Good price for family rooms near subway. Will stay again. The room is very clean, well equipped with microwave, cooker, utensils..

As it was winter time, the separated hall to toilet and bath room was very cold as there was no aircon or heater.. so if you step out of room for toilet or bath, that area is very cold. Recommend to place a heater in that area as winter in sapporo is very cold.

This hotel does not have on site english speaking staff or reception. Self check-in and translation of the check-in instructions beforehand is required. Please also note the lift access requirements. All details are provided prior to your stay. If you do need help, the staff are helpful but please be ready to speak Japanese. Located a bit further away from the main city centre. Good access to train lines although a 10 min walk. Rooms clean and as expected. It was not overly spacious rooms but did the job for the 5 of us. It ended up being a good hub to hire a car for our day trips outside of Sapporo. Parking is not offered at the hotel, but there are a couple of coin operated car parks available in the area for overnight parking if required at reasonable prices.

Hotel does not have pre check-in on post check-out luggage storage services so if you're expecting to arrive early or leave late after checkout, you'll need to have a plan for your luggage storage. They recommend luggage lockers at the station, but unfortunately they are limited, and a whole section of them were out of order. A lovely improvement to Lestel Maru would be if they could offer luggage lockers on site with some of the space they have.

The dorm was incredibly clean, orderly and welcoming. The size of the bed space was more than enough for comfortably sleeping in and spending time in. The common areas were comfortable and relaxing. The bathroom was very spacious and clean. The control over lighting and temperature was good and easy. Check in procedures were also effortless and convenient. The hostel exceeded my expectations amazingly.

I would have preferred larger lockers to accommodate more storage. Since there was a designated space underneath the beds, I also would have been more comfortable with a cover or door to keep my luggage and belongings secure. The only major downside was the roughly 12 minute walk from the station in the snow/ice, but if you don't mind some heavy lifting or you are travelling light, it is not much of a problem.

The location is very convenient for those who want to travel around Sapporo and to/from New Chitose Airport since it's only a 6-7 minutes walk away from the subway and an 8-9 minutes walk from a bus terminal which connects to the New Chitose Airport. There are also a few sightseeing spots such as Maruyama Zoo and Hokkaido Jingu which are within the building's walking distance. There are no staff (except for cleaning staff) so you would have to check in by yourself at the lobby, but the process is relatively simple and fast. I actually had a pleasant stay in the female's dormitory. The shower rooms and toilets are cleaned everyday so it's quite hygienic, however, the sleeping space is not cleaned and bedsheets are not changed during your stay (until you check out). I don't know if that's the reason why there seems to be a weird smell in my sleeping space. If you need new sets of amenities and new bath towels, you would have to pay for it too. I personally think the facilities could have been better, but given its cheap price, the dormitory would be a great option for solo travellers who are staying for only a few nights.

There is no staff at the hotel. You can reach them by phones that are spread out about the hotel. I didn't need them at all. The check in was easy and simple, and do it all by yourself. The room was nice, bed was bigger than usual and comfy. Bathrooms and showers in good condition and the common area very sufficient. You aren't in the middle of things but easy to get around and a 24 hour store right by the place. Had a good stay there. What you need in order to sleep and stay in Sapporo.

This hotel is suitable for those who prefer independence. If you are interested Bankei Ski Resort, this place is the best place to stay.

Maybe there are, but I couldn't find any mugs for tea in the kitchen.

Conveniently located in a decent residential town called Maruyama, which is 3 stops away from Odori. Modern, clean, and convenient rooms and facilities. Most importantly, the bed is not a bunk bed. You are provided with your own bed from top to bottom, enough room for yourself, a very thoughtful arrangement. The bedding including the duvet and pillow is of top quality. A spacious living room equipped with modern furniture and books is also a charm.

The kitchenette is only equipped with a microwave, electric kettle, and sink. No cups, tea bags, or cutlery.

They turned on the AC before we even arrived which we greatly appreciate!! I booked the standard family room that had 6 beds. The room was clean, spacious and beds were comfortable! Washer and drier was also available which was nice! We only stayed for one night, but wished we could've stayed longer to not only enjoy the room but also of Sapporo. Hotel was a bit of a walk to the subway and there was a convenience store along the way to the subway. Easy self check-in, check-out process. There's only one elevator so there would be some wait during peak hours.

None
