My fave hostel of the trip so far! Comfy squidgy mattresses in the dormitory pods, everywhere is clean, nice social spaces for sitting eating and a great kitchen with everything you could need to make meals. Friendly staff who are always happy to help. Lots of info about the local area is available. I met lots of interesting people while using the shared spaces. Great location for exploring takayama, just a few mins walk to the old town and only a few mins walk from the bus/train stations. I'd definitely stay at a K's House again, thank you!

Bathrooms are a little tight to get in, but not an issue really.

Great location close to JR Takayama station and walking distance to lots of shops and restaurants. K’s House has the friendliest staff who have a lot of knowledge of the area and are always happy to help. The communal areas (kitchen, dining and living areas) are great - a lot of newer hostels we went to didn’t have this! The rooms and bathrooms are basic but fine for the price (we had a private bunk bed room). Overall we liked staying here!

Mattresses weren’t great for my back but might be fine for most people.

it was just a few steps away from the old town. and especially during one of the festivals at the city, it was a very convenient location. the staff were also knowledgeable about the surrounding area and could recommend things to do on the fly.

because I knew there was a festival at the time I was going, I had to book way in advance to make sure I had a spot. but that is understandable to me. also the festival makes staying anywhere in the area rather pricey, but I do think it is worth it to see the festival.

Everything, this place is so clean and so organised almost feels like a hotel. The staff is very welcoming and I regret not booking more accommodation with this chain. Would 100% return!

Nothing. But if I could give 1 point of improvement I would make an extra space with mirrors to get yourself ready after the shower,nas now it is combined with the shower which made me occupy the shower longer then I would want to(maybe making others wait)

This was such a fabulous hostel. Great location, 5 mins from the station. Such a nice chill area and kitchen inside. I had the most fabulous sleep in their super-comfy bed! Very well priced single room - such a luxury! First mattress in Japan that was soft enough for me as a side sleeper. Helpful, friendly staff. Lots of info provided. Can't fault it

All good!

Staying for more than three nights one gets a one-time free use of the washing machine and dryer. The clothes were perfectly dry afterwards. There was free coffee in the mornings. There were always people around the living room, kitchen and dining room.

There was ventilation in the room but you couldn't adjust the temperature in the nights.

Very nice hostel, the best i have been in Japan. Good location close to the station, very clean, very well equipped kitchen, super kind and helpfull staff! All credits to Toshi the guy of the recption you really are doing a great job. If you want to be sure you will be in an great hostel just book K hostel they are all over Japan.

Great hosts and a nice kitchen area. The hostel was also nice and clean. Location wise the hostel is really central in takayama, while also close to the station with the bus center, making it a great place to use as a base for exploring both the town and the surrounding area. We would recommend a visit to hida folk village, and the takayama markets.

The location was absolutely great. The staff were truly amazing , they helped everyone in every question and even asked how was your day and how was your route. I already miss them. The atmosphere is very calming and comfortable and the facilities are good including the kitchen, lavatory and washing machines. Everything is 10/10

Jeng was fantastic as a host and the dinner and breakfasts were beyond our expectations, beautiful and delicious. The location is perfect for walking this section of the Nakasendo Trail.

The pillows were very uncomfortable to sleep on, so I stuffed the pillow slip with my puffer jacket for the second night.
