The staff was nice and the public bath helped reduce the tiredness of the day.

The room window was not openable. I asked to the staff to open the window because I have claustrophobia. The staff removed a part to open the window for me. Thanks for that. But there was just a view of the wall of the other building. Not much natural light and had to turn on the lights all the time. If I didn’t it’s just darkness even daytime. Decent place for a short stay but not good for a long stay(I stayed a week) without natural light.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Galois. It was clean and our room was a good size- there was enough room to store 4 suitcases and 2 people comfortably. It was very close to the train station (Shin-Okubo) for the Yamamote line (about a 3 minute walk) and also to another station (Okubo Station) for the Chuo-Sobu line which was really handy for accessing different places more smoothly. This second station is a little further away but only takes about 5 mins to walk to. We spilt our trip up by going to Osaka and Kyoto for 5 days in the middle of our Tokyo trip. We stayed at the Galois for all our time in Tokyo and we arranged with them to keep our luggage at the hotel while we were travelling for 500 yen per night per item. This was a huge help as it meant that we could take back packs while travelling on the Shinkansen and around Osaka and Kyoto. The facilities at the hotel is also fantastic- they have a vending machine, microwave, ice machine, laundry machines and baths. The staff were also very helpful. We would 100% stay at the Galois again.

Location is very close to the metro. So this is really good when traveling with a lot of bags. 7/11 is 100m from the hotel, a few fruit shopes around the hotel. The hotel has a restaurant.despite the room being realy small it still had a good felling.

The restaurant that is part of the hotel was full of stdange people and it made me fell unsafe as I was traveling alone with my dauther. Also the fruit shopes around were owened by Indians, who eere sll staring at you when you walked by and it made me fell not ok. The hotel staff during the day speaks zero english. The hotel doesnt have a sef they give you a portable one...

We took the super-speed train from Hiroshima (it took us four hours). from the train station, we took a taxi to our hotel. Our big suitcases that we sent from Kyoto were waiting for us on the reception floor. The staff were friendly, and check-in was quick. Our room was on the last floor, with a nice view. This hotel has a private sento -(Japanese hot bath) which I enjoyed it on a daily basis. The breakfast was in the restaurant on the first floor and was very good. The hotel is located in the middle of the youth area, full of restaurants and other cultural centers.

The windows are completely shut, there is no way to open a bit, to let some fresh air enter our room please consider that there is No place for cars.

The location is excellent. A 1-2 minute walk from the Shin-Okubo Station, which means you're connected via the Yamanote Line to most of Central Tokyo and you're about 5-minutes by train to Shinjuku Station if a transfer would be faster or if you need to get somewhere further away. If you're staying out in Shinjuku past midnight, it's also only a 20-minute walk from the central area near Shinjuku Station/Kabukicho/Omoide Yokucho. The hotel itself was clean, seemed quite new, with comfy beds, and average sized rooms for a Japanese business hotel. I only spoke to one staff member, who was extremely cordial, when I was checking in. But there's also an automated check-in and I just used the kiosk when I was checking out. Especially for the price, it's a wonderful home base if you're looking to be close to the action in Shinjuku and have convenient access to transit around to the rest of Tokyo.

Amazing location. So close to the train station. Highly recommend to anyone walking with suitcases. Also very close to the main night clubs in Shinjuku. Very easy and short walk after leaving the club around 3am. Felt very safe and we were two women. Great facilities and on-site restaurant that was open all times of the day. The staff helped us with our luggage transfer. Not many are English speaking though, but they put in a lot of effort to communicate with us. Very good value. Had more freebies than the other hotels we stayed in. Would book again.

A little small, but seems like the norm in Tokyo. Only one suitcase can be opened at a time. Our window directly faced the apartments of the other building so we kept our shade closed most of the time for privacy. Still a very great value though and none of these things were a big bother.

I stayed at this hotel for six nights and would highly recommend it. It’s in a fantastic location—just 100 meters from the train station and within walking distance of Shinjuku. Check-in was super easy, and the staff were incredibly polite. The room was well-equipped with robes and slippers, and I appreciated the thoughtful touch of fresh towels and bottled water left outside my door each day when I didn’t request room cleaning. The blackout blind was a great feature for a good night’s sleep. One of the highlights was the luggage transfer service to Kyoto, which cost around £12 for next-day delivery—perfect for avoiding the hassle of carrying my heavy suitcase. The hotel is also surrounded by plenty of restaurants and shops, making it convenient for dining and exploring. The public bath, while small, was a great way to relax after a long day of walking. Overall, a fantastic stay, and I’d definitely return!

Nothing.

Excellent hotel for a week stay in Tokyo. Location was near metro-station so it was easy to go anywhere. Very comfortable beds. Great shower water pressure and temperature. We have tattoos so didnt try the public bath for customers. Water bottles and clean towels provided daily. Breaksfast was very good. Table service not buffet, but plenty to eat every morning. Only strange thing is (also other places in Asia) that one can only choose one drink. So not both juice and coffee....

Room was tiny, like a cabin in a cruiseship. That was fine, we only slept in. Would be nice to add few hooks etc to help store things.

The Hotel stay was very good. The staff are friendly and it is a great atmosphere. I don't recall being bothered by noise and was able to rest comfortably. As a solo traveler, I booked a double room which was comfortable. I think if someone were to share the room, it might be a little cramped especially if you have multiple large suitcases and I may recommend a larger room. For me alone in the double room, the space was comfortable for my large suitcase and laptop bag. The table was great for my laptop and two monitors to do my work. I booked to include a breakfast for every day of my stay. I cannot fault the taste. It is very good and delivered very quickly. This hotel was, I would daresay, perfectly situated. It is quiet in the area and a short walk to the train station. If you just walk around, areas such as Shinjuku can be walked to within 20 minutes. Overall it is great!

For the Hotel stay, there wasn't anything I didn't like. The breakfast however is a different story. Every day it is the same breakfast (when you have the included breakfast). The options for drinks weren't great. Coffee doesn't taste great. The only drink that was rather ok for me was the orange juice and the milk they serve with the breakfast.

The location was excellent. Very close to Shin-Okubo station which lies on the circle line. Only one stop away from Shinjuku, but much quieter. No noise at all from our room. It is a good central location to visit many other attractions. Lots of cheap restaurants and clothes shops in the neighborhood. We booked two rooms for a family of four, and the rooms were on the same floor only a few doors apart. Great facilities - free Onsen, coffee machine, ice machine. The rooms were spacious by Tokyo standards, and well laid out. Enough floor space to not be tripping over luggage, and enough space at the foot of the bed so that you don't need to climb over your partner to get to out! The room had a large desk and plenty of shelf space to keep it tidy and organised.

We did try to get a room with two single beds for our teenage kids, but there were none available, so they begrudgingly had to share a bed. But the beds are big, and the kids were comfortable.
