Pro's: Felt safe as a female solo Traveler, great location 2 to 3 minutes away from the train station a lot of small restaurants, shopping stores, convenience stores very clean, quiet and respectful overall staff was nice and try their best to communicate which i really appreciate it but do keep your translator handy and although the room is small it's nice and you're not there that often so it's a great price I would overall recommend this hotel to family and friends

Con's: Beds could have been more comfortable they also don't accept request for late check in, you have to notify that you are going to be there they will also charge you extra if you do not check out by 10:00 a.m., I do appreciate that they do keep the facility clean but they don't really tell you that they do change your sheets and there are no lockers so belongings are exposed when they go in and clean your room I wish they had an option for them not to go in until you check out or have locker's available but again overall great price, nice staff and great facility

The people at the reception were very nice, and the check-in went very quickly, the hotel is located in an excellent location, there are many restaurants and supermarkets nearby that are very convenient, the toilets and showers are very clean, and there is a place for your bags and storage

The beds are not very comfortable and every time you move around in the bed there is a loud creak of the wood and it is very disturbing to sleep

This hostel is ridiculously clean and the staff were very friendly. Also, the owl in the reception area is so cute. Although I wish it were located a bit closer to some of the more notable areas in Tokyo, it is located in a very safe, quiet area.

The bed was very hard and a little uncomfortable to sleep on, especially if you are a side sleeper. Also, I personally would prefer if the hairdryers could be limited to use until 10pm instead of midnight. Some nights it was annoying trying to sleep because the hair dryer was very loud and I think 11pm-midnight is too late to be using them while sharing a room.

I like everything about this place. The people (staff), the bed, the space & how clean it was. The location is just great. After the first day and couple of times I lost my way in subway, I learned and understood the way Japanese subway works. Cool. The location is super close to the subway. Vending machines are everywhere. Stores and cafes are too. Any step you take you'll see either a cafe or a store. It's so convenient and cool. People say (and there's a song) Moscow never sleeps. Weeeeell. I guess Tokyo doesn't in comparison with Moscow. Also you can have any drink for free on the first floor (water, apple juice, some kinda energy drink and something else 😄). You can eat on the first floor, there are tables. You can "park" your umbrella next to the reception too. But mind marking it somehow if you don't wanna lose it 😆. At the beginning I was afraid the bed would be really hard. But after the first night I even liked it. Back problems are gone. The curtain closing the way in/out is very thick and not transparent as in a lot of other hostels I've been to. Bathrooms are great as well. I also liked how hard the guys worked to clean the place every single day. Like their own apartment. No, for real! I don't think a lot of workers around the world would be so honest and hardworking. I'm telling you. Amazing smell is everywhere. Bathrooms, reception, staircase. I want those refreshing thingies too.

Well, it's hard to say, as I'm extremely happy about everything. But I might say I was a bit sad because of Mori. That's an owl in there. It's cute and all..... But I feel these kinda animals shouldn't be in captivity. They must be free. I don't know the story of this cutie, maybe it was rescued and now it's ok. Maybe not. I can't say. I was told the owner loves owls and he collects them. I would hope it's not only because of the name of the place this little guy is there. Mori sits on a "branch" 24/7. It's leg is tied to this branch and Mori tries to untie him/herself all the time. Yeah, a fun fact, the staff told me they don't know whether it's a boy or a girl and they'd like to think it's a boy, as Mori is like a boys name 😂 That'll be the only thing I was sad about.

This capsule room is the most spacious capsule room I’ve stayed in over the last one month in Japan as a solo traveller. I’m still blown away by the space legit (I’m a tall 180cm muscular soldier and I can sit upright with plenty of space to spare). There are multiple shower rooms and toilets so no need to take turns. The hostel is a 5-minute walk away from a train station serving multiple lines. The staff even changed my bedsheet and made my bed for free on day 3 of my 5-day stay!

This is the only hostel I stayed that didn’t provide a towel for my trip in Japan (but ok I have my own). Any random stranger on the street can just walk into the building, climb the stairs to level 2 and enter the room. The curtains that were supposed to give you privacy have a gap at the top, allowing others to peek into your capsule and witness your nefarious acts. 😈

I had a very nice trip to Tokyo, one of the reasons is because of Hotel Owl Tokyo Nippori. It's a quite small hotel but it has everything I need. The hotel is well-organized with clear rules : no light from 10pm, but lobby could be used until 1am, no hair dryer after 0:00 but if you need it, you could ask the staff... It's very suitable for one person trip. However, it is capsule hotel, so you should know that it is unavoidable , the sound from other customers next to you if they move or change position sometimes. If you are the person who requires completely quietness to sleep well, then you should consider this. I like the coffee machine and even the owl of the hotel. The staff is nice and helpful, if you need an iron, just ask the staff to use that at the lobby for free. I will recommend this hotel my friend next time.

It is about 250 meters from Nippori Station East Exit. It is beside a sento or public bath and comes handy after a tiring tour of the city. The dorm room has its own toilet and bath and the capsule is on the bit larger size so wiggle room is good. Wifi is also good. There is free drink vendo at the lounge. Overall it was a lovely stay.

Cheap, located 5-10 min walk from Nippori train station. Friendly staff that speaks English, and clean. It is a 1 star hotel so it was better than I expected! They also have possibility of cleaning your clothes. You can rent a more private room if you wish, and I also liked you could rent a strictly female dormitory! The other ladies there were nice and quiet. They have small lockers in the reception for valuables. There are some room in front of your bed for storage of your bags etc.

Mattress was like 2cm thick so I could have just slept on the floor. Would be more comfortable.. recommend bringing another type of mattress or sleeping bag. Used the duve and folded it in two which made it more comfy. Other than that, it is fine, it is as I said 1 star. There is also mold (black mold?) Where the laundry machines are.

The location was great. Very close to the Nippori station where you could take any trains going to either Shibuya, Shinjuku, harajuko, etc. or Ueno, Imperial Palace, etc. The staff was very friendly and in the lobby you had free drinks. Very delicious!! Also nice bathroom. Always so clean. Very welcoming and calm atmosphere.

The beds were a bit uncomfortable. It sometimes felt like sleeping directly on the floor.

Stayed at this place in 2019 and knew then I'd go back if ever visiting Tokyo again. So we stayed again last week! Price is the main sell point, obviously, but the value is really great. Beds are very comfortable (take ear plugs and an eye mask for more comofort), free drinks in foyer (green tea, coffee, water etc.), shower is the best I've ever had in any hotel or personal living situation at home. Location is fab, 5 mins from station and Yamanote Line (best line for any travel in Tokyo) and right next to Ueno Park. Also, Mori Kun (owl) is adorable / friendly. An absolute gem of a hotel.
