Great hotel in a very interesting and varied part of the Shinjuku ward! Welcoming & informative check-in by staff members. Small but clean room, bathroom & bed. Lovely breakfast spread to choose from - lots of different food & beverage options. I had forgotten that breakfast was included so this was a real bonus for us! Laundry facilities - although not enough washing machines (there were two washing machines available for guest use and there was a queue for them on a rainy Friday night :-)) The rooftop bar was a great experience (thankfully as it is one of the ways I had narrowed down the abundance of accommodation choices). Food & drink prices were more than reasonable given the amazing city and location we were in.

We liked pretty much everything here although wouldn't have minded having a tea/ coffee facilities in the room.

The location of this hotel is excellent. It's conveniently located to several exits for the Shinjuku-Sanchome subway station so getting around the city is easy. The staff were courteous, friendly and accommodating. The room was small but clean and comfortable. The breakfast is also really good and worth checking out.

There are only two washer dryers that service the entire seventeen floors but if you can get them available the staff can give you change to use them. Alternatively there are cheap coin laundries nearby. There is also no fitness center but if you are out and about you get your steps on regardless.

The hotel is in a great location for the hustle and bustle of Shinjuku. A short walk gets you to a metro station so it’s easy to explore other areas of Tokyo. Really liked the small cafe in the lobby.

From research trying to find an hotel to book in Tokyo, most of the rooms are quite small and our one at the Granbell was on the smaller size. If I stayed here again I’d pay to upgrade to a bigger room because in the ordinary room one side of the bed was against the wall making it awkward to get out of. Now that I’ve visited other cities and other hotels I feel that the room In Tokyo was a little tatty. The blackout blinds didn’t fit the window either so light streamed in which I personally found irritating but maybe that’s just me.

Staff was very helpful

When booking thru BOOKING.COM, I mistakenly booked 2 rooms for one night instead of one room for 2 nights I immediately called Booking.com and they informed me that any changes or refunds would have to be made at the hotel. The hotel would not entertain any changes, including spreading the 2nd room to the next day. So I ended up paying for 2 rooms my first night and then had to pay for another room for the next night. I will never use Booking.com again.

The staff were always friendly to approach and have kept our room clean daily. It’s nearer to Higashi-Shinjuku Station and would be the better station to go to.

The laundry room only had 2 washing machines and it takes 2 hours for a laundry job to complete. A lot of other tourists were using it and we had to wait for quite some time to get our laundry done.

This was my 3rd time staying at this hotel, i chose this hotel for its location to get around the west side of tokyo, i had a room on the 12th floor this time, and it had a great view. its small (but thats expected for this price in tokyo) but has everything you need for a single traveller. the hotel is alwasy clean and it feels safe.

it was clear the aircon had been on all summer in the room, there was a slight damp smell. room needs airing but obviously, no opening windows on such a high floor.

Fantastic location. Not for the prudish as it is in the middle of the red light district but I felt very safe as a solo traveller and it was a great experience. Property was very clean. Not a huge room but perfect for my needs.

Do not try and use the washing machines. Not kept clean or maintained. There is a great laundromat within 2 minutes walk. Don’t let this put you off this property. I can’t really comment on hotel staff as they did not engage with me.

Very comfortable bed, wonderful bathroom, superb daily housekeeping and wonderful location. Room was very quiet despite us being on the 2nd floor. Staff were wonderful, very accommodating and always addressed our concerns immediately. Good internet throughout the hotel. Having access to washing/drying machine was very helpful. Great coffee bar downstairs in the lobby and a wonderful roof top bar.

Initial room was very small, needed to upgrade to a larger room (additional cost of course). Both rooms were a bit dated, walls were scratched up a bit, stand-up lamp and a swinging chair in room were not needed-took up valuable space. There was not enough storage space, my wife and I had to practically live out of our suitcases. Had some issues with the air conditioning which was resolved by maintenance staff..

Great location in Shinjuku - so many shops and restaurants within walking distance. We were initially worried about the room (due to some bad reviews on booking.com), but ours was a decent size (for Japanese standards) and comfortable with our own private bathroom. Our room was also quiet and we had a great view of Shinjuku. The rooftop bar is also fantastic with amazing views! Would definitely return.

Not too much of an issue but it’s about a 10-15 min walk to any station. Some families may not like Shinjuku area due to love hotels being close by etc but as a couple we thought this hotel and area was fantastic!

Stayed twice at this hotel during my holiday. The first time the room was on the small side, but on my second visit, the room was slightly bigger. The rooms were quiet. Breakfast had a good variety of food, although it was predominantly Asian, but there was some Western food. There was a great rooftop bar, with fabulous views of the city, with a happy hour each evening. It was around a 15 minute walk to Shinjuku station, which was a bit of a bind every day.
