The room was fantastic but booking.com gave a discount that is only for residents of Japan, luckily I’m here on a working holiday visa & I have a residency card for the year. It was bad of booking.com to offer this discount, if I was a tourist I would have to pay a lot more. Be careful in Japan as lots of discounts are not for tourists.

Centrally located hotels in Tokyo are generally eye-wateringly expensive . Paid £950 for two weeks in this small, single 2* room (Booking.com). Ouch! The hotel and my room were very clean. Fridge & kettle were provided; good A/C. There was a TV with mostly Japanese language programmes. The shower (attached to the half-sized bath) was basic, but was quite powerful. No in- room safe for valuables. The spaghetti-like ‘wiring’ was interesting to behold. It was very centrally located. I was on the 8th floor, which was peaceful in this very frenetic area. The young woman on reception was very kind and helpful on arrival; the two older men were also very nice and helpful. The guys spoke little English (though infinitely more than my Japanese), but this was no problem due to our liberal use of Google Translate. The room was (thoroughly) cleaned on request: I much prefer this arrangement because I find daily cleaning unnecessary & intrusive. This place reminded me of having to stay in my grandmother’s spare room: homely, but dated (the room, not my grandmother).

The highlights of the hotel were the service and value for money. The staff were very accommodating of our requests. They received our Ta-q-bin delivered luggage without issue and were ready for us by the time we arrived. They were also comfortable receiving Amazon orders for us and holding our luggage for the day before we departed for the airport. The cleaning, if not the entire, staff definitely have a fun-quirky side. When we checked in, there were little gift ducks and handwritten notes for us! Otherwise, everything else just worked - decent rooms, reliable appliances and room features, etc. We stayed in two single rooms, which were by far the cheapest in the area (most other hotels have expensive single rooms or require at least a double room). If you're looking for value above all else, this is the place to stay!

The hotel, particularly the rooms and lobby are a bit a dated. The mattress were a little firmer and springier than we would've liked, and the bathroom is pretty small, though sufficiently functional. The location puts the hotel at the edge of Kabukicho, which can good or bad. On one hand, its a little far from the stations and attractions - at least 10m walk each way, which can be exhausting if you're carrying luggage or Donki bags. On the other, it is quieter than some other hotels we've stayed at, and is significantly better valued.

We really liked the staff and how courteous that were to us. The place was clean, and large.

The staff had a very strict visitor guidelines which we did not know about and having our kids come visit us was tricky. Our kids stay elsewhere and we had hoped they could come for dinner with us at Shinjuku. Sometimes my kids were allowed to visit and other times it was not allowed. We learned later why as they don't want non-guest wandering around, and we LIKED that, but we just did not know before-hand that our kids may not be able to join or visit us.

The staff were super friendly, and the hotel was outside the red district area and could be accessed via the main tourist road away from red district. 7-11 right next door. Had a window for natural lighting.

There are better options that cost similar, but the staff are super friendly. Not the most modern looking but the friendly staff make it feel cozy.

Great location in Shinjuku and decent sized apartment making it really good value. Staff are very polite and helpful even with a bit of a language barrier we managed to communicate our needs. Washing machine had clear instructions which is a bonus.

The pillows were small and not very comfortable. Might be personal preference but it was uncomfortable for me. Couldn't find a drying rack in the apartment. We didn't wash too many clothes but if you wanted to do a lot of laundry it would be difficult to find somewhere to hang it. Also no hooks in the bathroom to hang towels.

For those who are not really into checking in different hotels because of the trip schedule, this is the perfect base to settle. Besides the fact that Shinjuku is one of the major transfer stations for many metro lines, this hotel is right next to Kabukichō, so definitely an ideal choice if u got plans for some night outs since you can literally walk your way home.

Easy enough to find location out of Shinjuku station. Extremely friendly and professional staff. Good location if you want to walk to the national gardens. 10/10 value for money.

Ever so slightly dated but it's nitpicking.
