One of the best hotels not only in Mombasa but in the al Kenya with the best staff ever.!!!!!!!! From the reception to the restaurant and to the front door everyone is there to help you and make your stay smooth and pleasant. Yvonne was the first person we met and she offered us a free upgrade to our room and she also did her best and achieved to let us stay in the room until 2.00 o'clock although checking out time is 10.30. All the staff in the restaurant is excellent, polite and friendly. Everything is sparkling clean and comfy. There is a very good restaurant and a great bar next to the pool and thd food is quite good. Thank you very much guys for helping us with all our issues. We had a great time because of you and we are looking forward to see you again.

Nothing everything was perfect

While not near Old Town Mombasa, the hotel is centrally located and provides a good view of the city from the rooms' balconies. The restaurant offers inexpensive but decent meals for dinner, and an excellent buffet for breakfast. Both the restaurant and pool are on the second floor. Checkin/out was smooth and the staff was extremely professional. They offer a luxury, 6-8 seat bus to the train station or airport for a reasonable price, complete with massaging chairs and sound system. The water was hot and the pressure was good. The room's airconditioner was a rarity in Kenya.

The fried fish dinner took about 40 minutes to bring to the table and the servers didn't stop by much until I stood up. The WiFi didn't reach into the room much so had to keep the phone and laptop close to the door. One of the elevators was out of service and got a little crowded and slow at times. There was a loud beeping coming from the hallway; fortunately the airconditioner and portable fan I brought drowned out the noise.

Every member of the staff from management to the door men are welcoming and helpful. Even disembarking from a cab or tuk tuk you are met with staff members assisting you, helping with your luggage and even opening the doors. We travelled with a young child and they made sure to include an infant cot and put us in a noiseless floor. Absolutely exceptional service and all of it given with a smile. Can’t believe the level of service given how affordable the hotel stay is. The facilities are in excellent condition, and for newcomers the on site restaurants are the best deal serving a variety of local and continental style breakfast items in a buffet. Location, location, location. Close proximity to many site seeing venues, and there are an abundance of taxi or tuk tuks (rickshaw) available once you step out the doors.

There was little not to like about the property. Basic inconveniences not worth mentioning (they affect every establishment). There were some minor improvements being made near the elevators, but the contractors always made sure to keep elevators and stairs accessible.

Excellent staff who bent over backwards to make everything right. Ride from the airport was quite chaotic with traffic and the driver didn't want the aircon on as it used petrol. Not a hotel employee but was organized by the hotel. Hotel apologized. First night room was noisy as hotel is next door to a Mosque and we were right beside the lift, so we got upgraded for the next night. So so much better. Hotel then gave us complimentary upgraded trip (flas van).back to the airport. They couldn't do enough to try to make everything perfect. Room service food was also very good.

After the upgrade, everything was great.

The staff were exceptional! Very kind and the best service we’ve had in Kenya. Stella, Benjamin and Peter are so attentive and helped ensure we have the best time possible in Mombasa. The kitchen staff you very helpful and knowledgeable. We were greeted with cool face clothes upon our arrival which was a treat after a long travel day. Wifi was consistent and able to make a video call. Have already recommended to a friend who will be passing through.

The settings for the fan in the room didnt have a low setting so it was either full blast or none at all which made sleeping tricky.

The facilities at the hotel are excellent. Room is cooled with AC and a ceiling fan, a variety of TV channels are available, very clean room, hot shower and excellent breakfast to start your day. The staff are very attentive and continuously checked if there was anything that they could do, in particular I am grateful to Brian for his recommendations on local eateries and ways to get places - these were very welcomed. Overall, I had a restful sleep every night and I would recommend this hotel. It is my hope that they continue to maintain this high standard of service going forward. I am grateful for the reception staff who safely stored my luggage after check out as I had a late evening flight. Overall a great place especially if you have short stop overs for business or likewise if you intend to explore the nearby historic old town which is a 10 min ride on the local Tuk Tuk.

My husband and I stayed at Hotel Sapphire during a short visit to Mombasa and we had a wonderful stay. The hotel is centrally located and all the tuk-tuk drivers we took knew the hotel well and its location and that made moving around very easy. Our room was very clean and very comfortable. The A/C worked perfectly and the Wi-Fi was fast and reliable. There was hot water in our shower and the night was quiet and peaceful. All of the staff that we encountered were very welcoming, customer focused and attentive and we felt really well looked after. We would return and recommend.

The staff members of this hotel are wonderful. Emily, Gilbert, Peter, Curtis and everyone I encountered are very kind, understanding and professional. The facilities are great. The rooms are spacious and very clean. The services are at a very high level. The staff are well trained and went out of their way to ensure that I was comfortable. For those who love a quiet environment, this place is serene and peaceful. The meals are delicious. Oh, I almost forgot; for those living with disabilities, the hotel is friendly. On arrival, Emily and the rest went out of their way and adjusted the schedule for me. Thank you very much HOTEL SAPPHIRE! In you I have found a home.

We were a family of four booked for superior double room but surprisingly upgraded for suites. The rooms were very clean and spacious. The staff were polite and always helpful whenever you needed them. The in-house restaurant welcomes you any time. The buffet breakfast was sufficient for any morning hunger although not too many varieties. The restaurant staff was too kind to serve you, not to mention Ms.Ivy who used to go out of way for anything needed. The hotel has very good vehicles for conveyance but surprisingly didn't mention that in their information. We booked their van for going to the other cities and proceeding to the airport which was as good as an aeroplane interiors. Overall, our stay at Sapphire was memorable.

We enjoyed a quick Mombasa getaway and this hotel was great for it. It’s great value, the room was clean and comfortable. The bed was very good & everything worked well. It was heavily raining and having a bar and restaurant in the hotel was a big plus, to avoid getting drenched.

I checked in with my partner and even if I had booked for 2, no one spoke to him - just me. And then a while later a member of staff actually asked him “oh, you’re also checking in?” in a surprised voice. That felt quite rude and did not make us feel super welcome at the start.. He is local and I’m not, so I feel that had something to do with the staff being “surprised” by him staying at the hotel, unfortunately. However, everything worked well after this rocky start.
