Excellent hotel, especially good value for your money in Cartagena. Since Cartagena is a tourist hotspot, some of the hotel prices in the more tourist zone were too exaggerated. Hotel Mucura has all the essentials that you need. Definitely not a luxury hotel, but it was perfect for us since we spent most of the day outside the hotel and only returned to the hotel to sleep. It is a very quiet hotel at night. Very close to the airport. You can walk to and from the airport. It's only 4 blocks away. We walked with our carry on luggage and backpacks at midnight and the neighborhood seemed safe enough. Transportation (Uber) from the tourist zone of Bocagrande to the hotel is about US$3 to $4 max. If you want to rent a car in Cartagena, the rental company Localiza is just in front of the airport. One day with an economy (basic) car (Suzuki S-presso) with full insurance came out to US$38 aprox. Driving in Cartagena can be very chaotic with lots of motorcycles everywhere. Definitely need to have "nerves of steel" to drive there :-) . The hotel has a small garage of its own.

It's not really a complaint, but the hotel does not have a swimming pool. It does have a jacuzzi though. It can be sometimes hard to get an Uber from the hotel since it is not in the main tourist zone. Don't worry though, we walked 3 blocks and got a yellow taxi on the main road. Breakfast can be a little repetitive if you stayed like we did for 5 days.

Fred(english speaking) is BEST, And i mean in seriously, this Guy was our savior, He helped us with everything, where to eat, what to see, how to get there, other personal was really kind even we did not understand each other, everything was perfect for us, maybe one of a kind. Also we decided to stay 3 more days because we liked here a lot. I can only say good things about our stay. We have no issue, no problem. Hope we will meet Fred in every possible hotel we stay.

The staff here is extremely friendly and helpful. I had a excellent experience in Mucura. The breakfast was delicious and the people in the kitchen are very nice, the bed was wonderful after a long flight, they have coffee and tea free 24 hours and very nice hot tub. The location is near to the airport and 10 minutes from the wall city.

The staff was super helpful and the young man at reception spoke the best English I’ve heard so far I’m Cartagena. The room was spotlessly clean. Great area if you have a flight early in the morning, you can literally walk to the airport in less than 5mn. The area is real safe too, can walk late at night (female alone) with plenty of options to eat at walking distance. They offer massage service at a fairly cheap price which I tried.

Friendly and helpful stuff, delicious breakfast and nice courtyard with hammocks. Ideally located 10 min by foot to the airport

The Pool is not working and directly in the courtyard, nothing to enjoy and in reality not like the photos

The staff was lovely and welcoming. The bed was comfortable and it was located in a quiet neighborhood. I only stated there for one night because I had an early flight, so I think it’s a good affordable option to stay close to the airport.

Unfortunately the bathroom smelled bad, the TV did not have any channels available (only a cooking one) and the walls were very thin because I could hear everything going on outside by the common area.

A big plus location , 10 minutes to the airport the same to the beach , very nicely developed infrastructure nearby a place for jogging , walking. Very quiet neighborhood i felt safe. Even though i was earlier before the check-in time, i got a room. No. 8 has a large balcony, very nice staff the gentleman at the reception and the breakfast service ladies. Tasty breakfast coffee available immediately.

From the clean whitewashed exterior, to the clean white interior, this place has the appearance of quality. The rooms are light, bright and modern, with sleek and spacious ensuite bathrooms. Toiletries included. The common areas and hallways are clutter free, offering a half covered patio/eating area, with a lovely landscaped courtyard and hot tub. There's 24 hr reception, very accomodating staff who enabled an early check-in for me, and arranged taxi services upon request. Breakfast was included, consisting of a cooked option, fresh fruit and juice, with coffee, tea and hot chocolate available all day. The WiFi and air-conditioning were reliable and efficient.

Noise could travel quite easily, and the closing of the double doors separating the living/eating from the sleeping areas might make a difference during certain times.

Great service, we stayed in the Hotel for one night for a layover back home. The location was perfect and Yoylan Mendoza was extremely helpful with our stay and getting transportation.

Helpful staff, got a room upgrade to the 1st floor. Really helpful as a big travel group was making noise downstairs. Plus, you can walk to the hotel from the airport. I did even past 22h as barrio Crespo is a good neighborhood:)
