lots of services & restaurants

check in. we arrived at 8.30am because our flight got in early. I did not expect a room but I thought we could have done a pre check in. We thought maybe a room after 12.00pm. But we’re dismissed & given a sheet of paper& I quote plenty to do. We got a change of clothes and sat at Tappas pool for over 3hrs.We got some lunch & then went to check in. We queued till at least 1.45 pm. Then room keys didn’t work so waited 20 mins for Maintenance Then keys had to be coded. We were exhausted. Not impressed all won’t stay again. By the way stayed at Hilton Anaheim no problems at all .

The location is excellent. The beds comfy. AC worked well. Housekeeping came daily and rooms were clean. There was a very small fridge in the room. Security staff was plentiful. Property was pretty.

No breakfast offered, restaurants on property crowded and expensive so find alternatives. No laundrymat/washer dryer on property which is inconcenient for beach resort. Literally all staff on property and stores trying to stop you as you walk and sell you timeshare or a product, gets old... All pools and hot tubs closed at 5 or 6, hot tubs a bit too hot, pools cold and crowded. Beach towel stations shut down at 5 or 6 and you have to keep your wet towels until they open again. Check in took an hour, and we were not given room we requested but they made it right and changed our room.

The shower didn’t drain properly, so the tub would fill up . I wish the pools would stay open late.

The Alii Tower has the best location to the beach. Reception and check in was grea and very helpful. Loved that we could check in at this tower and not in the long lines at the main check in. Had a nice partial ocean view on the 14th floor. The Tapa Bar had a great band and great service. Nice and open. Love the convenience of having 2 ABC stores on the property. The beach is one of the best on Waikiki.

The Tropics Bar and Grill is horribly over priced for breakfast. We spent around $100 for 2 people! The staff at the main pool giving the towels could be more friendly. Maybe because they weren't Hawaiian and didn't know what the Aloha spirit is. All the rest of the property's staff were so nice except for them. Probably the only ones on our whole trip that weren't. When you hire Haoli's (Which was the staff at the pool and one of the tour booking personnel) from the mainland, make sure they get an education on Aloha. ☹️

I loved the adult pool. The other pool there really wasn't anytime for people without children to swim or even have a seat. The staff were very pleasant and always had something nice to say when you passed by them.

I wish the adult pool should be open later than 6 and could really use a bar. I wish there was more than one Uber pick up. Also we reserved a room with an ocean view and the room we received had buildings that I had to look past to see the ocean. The picture I was shown didn't have any buildings in it. This was kind of a let down. When I brought it to the attention of guest service they said I would have to take it up with who I booked it through. I feel like the hotel should honor what the pictures showed.

The location was great. Hotel was great. Staff was friendly.

The price was very high for our hotel room. We have traveled to several destinations and this resort was by far the most expensive that we have ever stayed at. The lack of signs through out the resort made it hard for us to meet our tour bus on our first tour. We made sure to locate the pick up areas the night before after our first island tour.

rates are too high in addition of the daily extra fee this hotel charges.

I loved the view we had from the Kalia Tower, we had an ocean front room and it was absolutely beautiful. All the restaurants in the resort were awesome. We highly recommend CJs deli. We ate there three times. The grounds were well kept and beautiful. Lots of shopping opportunities within the resort. A beautiful place indeed. The Lagoon is a must to play in. It was absolutely beautiful. The sunsets from the Kalia Tower were also amazing.

The adults only pool in the Kalia Tower closes between 6:00-7:00 PM everyday. The ocean is pretty rough to get into lots of dead coral and rocks. We didn't pack water shoes, so we didn't enjoy the ocean. I know this can't be helped because it's mother nature. Just bring water shoes with you. There was no microwave in the room and the refrigerator was extremely small and froze anything we put into it. Some of the employees were not helpful and would give false information on tours etc. They seem like they just wanted to get rid of you. They didn't give good directions at all they would say "just over there" alot.

Location is probably the biggest value. It's right next to the beach, and many shops and restaurant are in walking distance. The view from the room is awesome. The staff was always friendly and ready to accommodate our stay.

The room is laking renovation. It felt 30y old inside. Outlets on the lamps were not working so I had to use my own outlet extension. Everyone has multiple electronic devices today and rooms are still lacking USB outlets for charging. The balcony had a great view but often times I felt that someone was smoking and the smoke was getting to us. Self parking was more expensive then I thought ~$60 per day.

We travelled as two adults and three children so wanted somewhere where the kids could be entertained and safe within walking distance to all amenities, we requested an early check in which was honored as well as them offering an upgrade to an ocean view room on the 18th floor of the Tapa tower, this room was upgraded and was perfect for our famliy, we has two super comfy queens beds and one pull out futon which our 12 year old loved, so from check in to facilities, to room services, staff was amazing, there was even an uber pick up area which was perfect, the beach in front of the resort was picture perfect also, we have done plenty of travel and are pretty fussy and this resort was the best we have been to in many years. we cant wait to go back asap.
