We had a Superior room on the top floor. Very large room and bathroom, but care with the sloping walls. The staff in reception (1st Floor) were really helpful and the lady at breakfast kept things going. A good breakfast, continental style, but you can boil some eggs, if the fancy takes you. Secure car parking, but not sure how many it accommodates. I visited the General Patton Museum (wife didn't fancy it) and very informative of what happened to neutral Luxembourg in WW2. We had an enjoyable meal in La Fiducia (as recommended by reception),....Herckman's restaurant closed. Next day went to Luxembourg City by train (FREE !!!....all travel is FREE!!). And to finish....petrol is pretty cheap...we paid 1.56 Euros per litre....about £1.32/ltr.

When you arrive in your car, there's no drop-off area as such. So just parked somewhere I shouldn't and found reception where they then showed me the secure car parking, which I'd reserved. Glad that my wife could stay with the car until my return.

When you see the hotel at first on a dark cloudy really cold winter day, the building seems to be from another century. But when you get on the floor with the hotel rooms (I was on 2nd floor, reachable with elevator or stairs), you will be surprised: everything looks new and well cleaned. The room I got, was perfect for a short stay, in size very good and clean. The heating worked very well and and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was optical not in the modern state mentioned in the advertising photos, but it was okay and clean. And the two, three things who should be repaired, are not need to be declared - they where totally acceptable. I had no breakfast, so I can't tell you about that. But on the floor there is an area where you can get tea (and (instant) coffee?) on your own for free. Just 50m away from the entrance of the hotel, there is a paid public parking area. I don't remember the exact times, but Monday to Friday you have to pay from 8h00 until 18h00, and on Saturday from 8h00 until 14h00. All other times are free and on this parking area is also an electric car charger (I didn't use). In the building just across is a supermarket, if you need something.

- As always, in hotels you can discuss about the silence and noises in a room. In my room I could clearly hear, what in the neighbour room was discussed (until 2 in the morning :-/ ). Other noises from the hotel or from outside I didn't hear. - As the building has a restaurant on the 1st floor, there are the smells from the restaurant kitchen on the floor outside the room when the restaurant is open. But in the room, you smell nothing ;-) So it was okay for me.

The hotel as a whole was excellent and the staff were very friendly, especially the young lady on reception who gave us lots of local information and the app for the local bus services (but can't remember her name), also very convenient for public transport and retail therapy. Chances are we will return there next year

Early morning noise of deliveries to local stores (especially Proxy), but realise that was not the hotel

Ettelbruck is a nice place to hike in the north of Luxembourg, and allows the visit of a number of castles. Herckmans is a comfortable hotel with a good breakfast. The towels were really epic! Never had them so fluffy and thick. The village offers some nice restaurants.

The in-house restaurant could improve, with e.g. less dressing on the salad...

Nice staff. Very helpful. Breakfast also was a delight.

Charging my 2 kids the same price as an adult (10€), for breakfast is a bit unfair, as they're 6 and 8 and don't eat as much as an adult. Finding suitable parking was a nuisance. Additionally, about 80 m away is a plaza in front of a church. Nearby was a gang of immigrants, with loud music, and loud yelling, breathing from balloons, and making the area feel unsafe.

Had an underground locked parking area for motorcycles. Was very central to town, it's actually right on the pedestrian precinct. Room was fine for a one night stay.

Didn't have a way to hold the shower head up while taking a shower which was a pain. The climb up and down the stairs was a bit tight..Maybe not for the infirm. A wee bit tricky to find.

The rooms are nicely modernised, bright, large enough and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was all I expected, and all the staff I met was most friendly and helpful.

Small very small criticism: the bedside tables, fixed to the wall, were VERY wobbly.

Easy to get to. Easy and inexpensive close by overnight parking. Very friendly, tidied up our room every day

Shower is small. Very noisy with sounds of moving tables and chairs. Street noisy was not.progl

Great location. Close to the hotel there are a few restaurants, a supermarket and a pharmacy and the train station is within walking distance away.

During our stay the temperatures in Luxembourg were very high - air conditioning was needed but it was non-existent. Keeping the windows open was not ideal either due to the noise outside - coming from entertainment late at night and from services early in the morning.

It’s centrally located and a great base point for hiking. The supermarket is right next to the hotel and the hotel also offered free coffee and tea.
