suki is doing an excelent job there , she is responsive helpful and tries to give her best knowledge about anything you ask. the property gets cleaned every day once and gets a deep clean every weekend . people complained about black hair in the shower seem to misunderstand that a shared bathroom is frequented all the time so any dark haired person taking a shower at 6 or 7 will most likely leave a black hair . location wise you are pretty much in the center of the city with everything of human need in walking distance.

the biggest issue is the fact that the building and its rooms are all located to a main road and a connecting lane . there are no double wall windows and traffic noise will penetrate with very little damping , the worst thing about ipoh seems to be a wanna be racing scene that uses this main road for engine and exhaust modified posing . this can go as late as 4 in the morning on weekends . i do not know what the police in malaysia does but certainly not work for the people and theier wellbeeing. earplugs are the solution to all this and granted me unspoiled sleep at any time . the common area needs a touchup in the sense of seating options.

I really liked the fact that it was a small hostel, so it was more friendly and very clean.

I had a room next to the street and I could hear traffic noises as if I was outside. Also the blankets are too small and very thin.

Located in the city center, very convenient to go anywhere. Room and washroom are very clean. Staff is nice.

The only complain is the noise. Window of my room faced the road and the sound insulation was close to none. I am a light sleeper and had a hard time trying to fall asleep even with ear plugs on.

Not my first time staying here yet not going to be the last one too. My regular transit spot every time I'm in Ipoh. From a guest becoming more like a friend nowadays visiting this place. Friendly and lovely young lady owner. Highly recommended for short and long term stays.

My same old grumbling even though this totally goes beyond the control of the premise owner. Finding and securing a parking lot is super hard during daytime. Even nowadays finding a parking lot at night is equally hard too since a lot of patrons of nearby night markets prefer to park nearby to this premise parking area. One additional note Please stick a notice of General rules and policies of the hostel on the doors or wherever suits. Some guests simply don't bother about others'privacy and lack of respect. This applies to both local and foreign guests.

I spent a week in Homey Hostel and I had a very pleasant stay! My 3 bed dorm was nice, with AC, a comfortable bed and a socket near the bed which is not very common in Malaysia. The accommodation has 3 bathrooms, a common area with a sofa, chairs, cutlery, plates and mugs and filtered hot water so guests can prepare their coffee/tea and refill their bottles of water. The internet connection works fine all over the hostel and the hostel is very clean, not to mention that the location is both close to Chinatown (less then 5 minutes walking) and Old Town and there are restaurants and convenience stores nearby as well as a bus station! The owner, Suki, is so friendly and flexible! Always willing to help the guests with information about how to get to the further points of interest, booking train/bus tickets and not stricked with the check in/out hours

It would have been nice to have a fridge to keep our drinks and fruit fresh and a microwave to heat food, at least! The place would benefit if it has a stove so the guests could cook some basic meals... My room didn't have a wardrobe and was a bit tinny, especially when it was fully booked, which made a bit hard to organize our stuff during the stay and while packing. The accommodation is closed to one of the main roads and sometimes it gets too noisy with cars and music from the outside, which makes it a bit harder to have a good night of sleep! Some of the guests were a bit loud as well during the resting hours

Brilliant location in the New town, surrounded by Chinese food outlets. Walking distance to the the old town, little India and local bus station. Owner very nice and friendly. Free water dispenser. I really enjoyed my stay and would recommend.

No 24 hour checkin reception and owner not there a lot of the time but available through what's app, if any issue. Just to let you know some of residences live in the hostel but this wasnt an issue regarding myself. No kitchen or microwave.

The hostel was perfect. Great beds, great ac, cozy, comfy, friendly guests. The host was an absolute gem, she altered my dates for free when I had a change of plans because of work. Can't speak highly enough about her, she was brilliant. The value is amazing too. Facilities are really good. Ipoh is a lovely town and the hostel is right in the most historic part. Loved it!
