Breakfast included was great. The food for lunch and dinner was incredible and reasonably priced. The rooms were a basic but nice. Location was PERFECT. Literally a short walk to the orangutans and sun bears. Super close to other activities around sepilok. It's also just a great place to sit around and chill at. Would recommend staying here.

The bathrooms were probably the biggest let down, as some of them didn't have anywhere to hang your stuff, and the water pressure was low in others. But insignificant compared to the pros of staying here.

Great location close to Sepilok forest, Orang Utang, and Sun Bear Centres. The staff running the place realy are second to none. You certainly get service with a smile. This includes the domestic cleaning team that kept us supplied with towels,, water , tea, coffee, toilet rolls, and shower gel.The food is also excellent. We arranged our trip to Kitabatangan River through the Jungle Resort which was also excellent. We enjoyed our stay and recommend Sepilok Jungle Resort.

Sepilok Jungle Resort is slightly run down and in need of some TLC. The rooms are on the dark side with unnecessary furniture items that make the area cluttered. The pool could be a lot cleaner. The first row of tiles above the water level were filthy. A nice area sadly let down by the lack of cleanliness.

It's a really nice resort, with beautiful well maintained surroundings but with a genuine jungle feeling, the resort really fits in the surroundings. The rooms are basic but clean, comfy beds, nice balcony to sit in the evening and listen to the jungle noises. There was a kettle and few tea bags and instant coffee. A bathroom had a shower separated from the toilet. Breakfast included in the price. Nice big common terrace to have breakfast/dinner or just to grab a drink. A small shop within the resort for some basic stuff (water, etc...). Very helpful staff. Walking distance (5 minutes) to orangutan and bornean sun bear conservation centres and rainforest discovery centre (this one is a bit further, about 25 minutes walking).

No warm/hot water in the shower, but it was so hot outside it was refreshing to have a cold shower, but I would still like to have the option. This one is not resorts' fault but I just want to give heads up - there are Grab drivers in front of airport waiting and they will drive you to Sepilok, but if you miss the ones already waiting there, none will come from Sandakan to drive you to Sepilok, so after almost 30 minutes of trying to get a Grab, we took a proper taxi which was more than double in price. Also, on the other day we wanted to go to Sandakan to book some tours for our upcoming days but there was no Grab driver willing to come to Sepilok to drive you to Sandakan. There is an option to book a driver from the resort to take you to Sandakan if no taxi is near.

The staff were very friendly and happy to answer any questions that we had. The hotel offers a nighttime jungle walk for RM25 each, which was great, we saw lots of different animals and insects. The room was very clean - we were given fresh towels and a bottle of water every day and our bed was made. The resort is a 5 minute walk from the orangutan sanctuary and the sunbear sanctuary, which is amazing. The breakfast was also very good (vegetarian options available)

Non-AC rooms didn't have windows - they had vents with bug meshes so you could hear people outside and the walls between the rooms were quite thin, which makes sleeping difficult if you have noisy neighbours..

The resort was in an excellent location, five minutes walk to the orangutan centre and 20 minutes walk to the rainforest discovery centre. The actual resort was in an amazing setting in the rainforest, with walkways and small lakes. The pool area was lovely, very peaceful. The staff were really friendly and helpful. The food was good. It was excellent value for money, and included a buffet style breakfast. We stayed in the basic room, which was fine for three nights.

Nothing about the resort. But returning to Sandakan, getting a Grab was more difficult and they charged 50MYR when the app said it should be 32MYR, and you have to pay in cash.

The resort is so cool, very spacious and good places to hang out. It’s 10 minutes away from the Orangutan centre which is why we originally picked this place. The staff were so welcoming, nothing was a bother for them. Breakfast was very good and the food in the Cafe for dinner etc was also amazing. Bit pricy in comparison to other food we’d had in Sandakan but it is a resort so it’s expected. The pool area is very good aswell.

The rooms were a little basic but comfortable for our stay. If we stayed again we would probably upgrade to a room with AC as the fan took a little while to cool the room down.

It was our second time in Sandakan in 2 years and chose Sepilok Jungle Resort mainly for the price. We were not disappointed! Yes, some parts of the resort might need a bit of TLC but overall, it was a fantastic experience. We needed 3 rooms and as per our request, they were next to each other. The staff was helpful and the ladies at reception were efficient. When one AC unit was struggling, they sent the maintenance team immediately. The restaurant serves a good selection of food. When reading some reviews on here, I really think some people have unrealistic expectations. For the price we paid, the service was good. One added bonus was the night walks. Definitely worth doing. Did it 2 nights in a row and saw slow loris, palm civet, owls, snakes, spiders, flying squirrel, mouse deer, etc... The guide is really good (and that's from someone who has spent 12 years in Africa!). Another massive bonus is the proximity to the Orang Utan sanctuary, which is 5mn walk away. Overall, it was a great stay and I would go back again. My parents who came to visit from Europe thoroughly enjoyed their experience too.

I sent 2 messages about arranging a taxi from the airport that were not answered. I managed to find a company on the net at the end.

Beautiful setting amongst jungle plants and lakes. Easily walkable to the orangutan and sun bear sanctuaries which were excellent and a few minutes walk from the lovely Nest restaurant.

Would suggest that superior was dropped from the room choice as there was nothing superior about it at all. Dark and drab with a bathroom you had to paddle around in with peeling paint, limp towels - not much to recommend it at all. The swimming pool was nice but not enough loungers and the ones that were there were in a poor state of decline. The bathroom at the pool was a total disgrace as were other public ones. It all badly needs an upgrade and was very overpriced. Reception staff were rude.

Excellent location for solo or group travellers, staff was approachable and happy to offer help with trips and booking of excursions. The areal was great for morning walks and wildlife discoveries. Breakfast had a good variety with an amazing view over the water, with kingfisher and other wild life to be seen. Swimming pool has a strict opening hours and that did not fit our schedule. Facilities have been upgraded while we were here and staff informed us about any possible distraction. Morning Jungle walk was incredible and staff was knowledgeable, I would recommend this activity on site as this was much better then any other tours we have booked in the area.

We loved this place!! The resort was absolutely lovely with a great pool and loads of birds butterflies etc. The night walk here with Iking was fantastic too. The location was excellent, an easy walk to the orangatans and sun bears, and fairly near the Rainforest discovery center. the helpful staff arranged pick up, drop off, and outings to the proboscis monkeys. The room was clean and comfortable, with hot water and good AC. A variety of meals were offered in the restaurant with great views and service. An exceptional value! We’d love to return!

WiFi didn’t really work in the room, but was fine in the restaurant area. Also I hope they will cut down on single use plastic (eliminate plastic straws and small water bottles for the room, use refillable pitchers and filtered or water from recyclable 5 gallon bottles instead).
