Amazing location, Big rooms, comfy bed not too soft, incredible ocean view, palapas and comfy chaise lounge chairs in the sand right on beautiful la Ropa beach, extremely friendly and nice staff who are not pushy, full breakfast, and you can go for a dip in the pool which is warmed by the sun. You can flag the local bus across the street from the lobby into central zihua town for only 13 pesos a person and be one with the polite and friendly locals.

This is an older place in La Ropa so it is a bit run down but it retains the the charm of laid back Mexico. Some days the stairs are tiring so you have to plan your trips to and from the palapa area.

Breakfast included was nice. The palapas on the beach were great, although I found the loungers uncomfortable (nice cushions but they rested on a wood frame) Very nice staff and hard working folks. Nice lush setting with a magnificent ocean view from every room I think. Food at the one restaurant was moderately priced and quite good. Location on the north end of playa la ropa was nice and close to many other bars, restaurants and souvenir stalls and shops. Rooms were large with a private patio, uncomfortable and broken loungers, and a hammock, with access to larger terrace with a magnificent view.

STAIRS. LOTS OF STAIRS. LOTS. OF. STAIRS. Hotel is perched on a hill, terraced with lots of stairs to climb to the pool, the beach, reception, etc. How many? Afraid to count -- ignorance is bliss! Not much variety in the included breakfast. Pool was very small with very few lounge chairs and umbrellas only on one side, and difficult to find shade. No bar service as the pool - you have to walk down quite a few stairs to the beach bar. Hotel in general was in need of a makeover - very dated and so was furniture. Bathrooms were small and pretty run down (hunter green toilet, with mis matched blue tank, I kid you not!! Shower was small with old fixtures. It was a smallish, dated, not really quaint boutique hotel, but it was comfortable for the most part.

The first room we were given was not good. It was near some noisy equipment area but we requested another room and the hotel promptly was able to find a much nicer room in a quiet area.

The hotel is old and needs more maintenance.

Staff was super helpful and present. Great breakfast and overall service at the restaurant. Lovely pool and an amazing beach - great service on the beach, too!

Location and staff

Spectacular views. right on Playa la Ropa. great guests who have been coming back for years. The people who work there are very friendly and work hard.

There is no elevator. It is 300 steps from the beach to the lobby at the top of the resort. The food was good but the service was slow. Often the food arrived cold after a long wait. There was no beverage service on the beach and food had to come from way up near the top of the resort. Inthe middle of our stay they stopped allowing taxis to come pick up people at a roundabout half way up the hill. This created a hardship for elderly and disabled visitors

Location is great, right on LaRopa Beach.

Issues with toilet, hot water takes over 10 minutes or more to arrive, lack of bedding (sheets only) and changes of bedding, no staff at beach bar most days, hotel bar closed indefinitely apparently, and overall the property is in need of a lot of TLC.

This place is not elderly friendly. Faculties we’re not as advertised. Level of service was a hit or miss. Restaurant/ room service was unorganized and a lot of things took forever. If it ever arrived. Upon arrival one of the bathrooms in our room looked like it was used and clogged. Giant puddles of water in the balcony area even though there was no sign of rain during our stay. They had turned the room but in the process left a giant bug that looked like a black butterfly in the room and didn’t bother to take it out. The list goes on. In all honesty if it was one or the other my family and I wouldn’t have minded it but it was everything.

Location and staff. Nice a/c. Upgraded to large room with great view.

Has certainly seen better days. Yes, we knew there were many stairs, but railings were sometimes unsafe. Beach towels were sadly shabby. The breakfast which was included was disappointing and we went to nearby spots for excellent breakfast.
