We were two people and stayed one night. The place is enjoyable, has a vibe, yet it can be appreciated mostly in common places. If you want a place to have a profound sleep and wake up with the songs of birds — this is a good option.

The accomodation has two types of buildings — the "traditional" one, and a newer, "modern" one, with a metallic structure. Most pictures on the announcement seem to be from the "traditional" building. The rooms in the "modern" building appear much smaller, with thin walls (expect no insonorization, contrary to the announcement). The shower has hot water, but you'll have to wait several minutes for it to appear. In winter, the place will probably be very cold. You'll need a car to reach amenities. On your check in, you'll be asked for a ~100usd refundable deposit; consider it in your expenses.

I normally stay at a chain hotel, like the Ritz, the St. Regis or the Four Seasons but could have never imagined that staying at the Hacienda would surpass them all. The hotel was breath taking, and clean, no heavy foot traffic, heck I didn't even know that others were in the hotel until we check out... Just peaceful, and the staff were polite and attentive and took care all request before even stepping into the country via What'sApp.

My only thing that I didn't like was that I didn't stay longer, nor did I explore the hotel grounds more. I wish that I would have known about them from the start....

Beautiful and secure grounds and interiors. The suite was amply sized and the kitchen quite well-equipped (though I would have suggested that they make available some oil and other basic condiments). The included breakfast offered fresh fruit, oatmeal/cereal, pastries.

They didn’t tell us until we arrived that there were planned electrical disruptions that ended up causing power (including internet) to be out for about 8 hours. I understand maintenance work needs to be done but a small luxury hotel such as this should better anticipate guests’ needs (eg offer a generator to charge devices during the outage) and offer recompense for any such inconveniences without being asked (we didn’t ask for any and they didn’t offer). Hopefully the hotel administration will improve because the place is absolutely lovely.

Staying at Hacienda Peña Pobre was absolutely the best experience! The room was beautiful and soooo comfortable and the staff was so lovely! I’ll definitely stay there again in the future. Thank you for such a wonderful experience!

There didn’t seem to be enough keys when I arrived because they weren’t able to give me a room key until the next day. It was fine as the staff let me into my room but it would have been nice to have a key right away.

We spent 3 nights at the Hacienda, we loved the unique style and modern features. The rooms are spacious, beds are very comfortable and great shower. The staff was very sweet and friendly and the value for price is great too. perfect location for a get away way from the city center and away from the crowds, quiet, comfortable and relaxing.

The location is a little far off from typical tourist hot spots (about 30 minutes ride with Uber to Roma Norte or the city center) but close if you wanna go to Coyoacan and the Frida Kahlo Museum or see a soccer game at the stadium. The breakfast that is included doesn’t offer much other than pastries, coffee/tea, Jogurt and some fruits, but you can pay for additional items on their menu. We put the DND sign on the door both days, but our room got cleaned anyways and towels that weren’t on the floor got replaced too even though we didn’t ask for it. maybe worth a reminder to the staff if that bothers you.

The rooms are very spacious, making it easy to travel with family. The staff is very friendly and always willing to help. The hotel is very clean and exudes a sense of tranquility. Additionally, the check-in process is very fast

The breakfast offerings are quite sparse, lacking in variety and somewhat overpriced for the selection available. Additionally, guests are required to pay for parking, which adds to the overall cost of the stay

the building is stunning, the interior of the room is well thought, the bed is just the most perfect I’ve ever slept in, I’ll really miss it. staff is friendly all the time, the snack bar is very thoughtful I’d come back

it’s very cold in the bathroom, check out is very early (11 and breakfast is also until 11, would be nice to have some more time), the included breakfast highly varied in quality over three nights (first day a plain slice of toast, second day I received two slices, marmalade and butter) but the included components would be just right (coffee, juice, Joghurt, fruit and toast/ pan Dulce) if the quality would be a little higher and similar every day

Very calm area, very green, small hotel. Nice staff. Expected a room, got an appartment.

My room lack of fresh air exchange, no window at the mezanino were hot air stays. Very poor tea offering, only mango or strawberry, no true tea (black, green, herbs). Asked for for green tea the first morning, Monday, not available until last day, next Saturday. So easy to get: details matter.

Hacienda Peña Pobre is a beautiful, peaceful and relaxing space close to many attractions in the area, but at the same time it is like an oasis of a provincial vibe with all the modern amenities and comforts. Staff is wonderfully courteous and attentive. Mara, I hope I remember correctly was such a great host. They thrive to make you feel welcome. Amazing cook! I wish I remembered her name! Shower water pressure is amazing. The building and the property is graciously planned and decorated.

Although the water pressure was wonderful, it took a while to regulate the temperature, but that was a just small detail.

Breakfast was good, quality, but very little to select from.

Noise in the night, the shower was not working properly, the hot water was not so hot. The room was rather cold. There was a strange closet `hanging` between the upper floor and the low level and made a noise everytime i moved in the room. There was some noise in the night.
