Wonderful location. The hotel consists of several small building connected by winding paths. Situated in a forest with nature all around - plenty of green and wildlife. The food is nice and drinks we’re also very good. particularly the cocktails from the pool bar. Good service from sun loungers at the pool and on the beach. The steaks in the speciality Mexican restaurant were tasty. The room was a good size with lovely bathroom and well stocked minibar.

The staff at the dive center attached to the hotel were rude and unprofessional when I asked for the scuba trial that was advertised. They seemed to resent taking a complete beginner into the pool for free rather instead of being in the sea. We dived with a more professional center a short drive away from the hotel instead. The beach was good but small. It looks as though it has been eroded quite a lot from storms. More bar options in the evening would be good - can the poolside bar stay open for longer? Install covered trash cans outdoors! We spotted one of the island’s critically endangered Coatis eating used napkins and other junk from one of the open trash bins in the evening.

On Saturday the 9th of July a very large group of young children with parents etc showed up at the pool area. They were not hotel guests. They were wonderful children with happy parents which was great to see. But they Took hold of the entire pool area with games and old speakers continuously shouting. All hotel guests leaved the area and had to go to the beach. This went on for almost the whole day. We love kids but in our opinion the time could have been reduced without speakers shouting the hole day. Besides this all was fantastic during our stay. We also want to that Francesco for helping our daughter that felt sick the day of leave.

Easy access to the docks for pickup for diving. Being able to grab a bite to eat almost anytime of the day. Service and cleanliness was exceptional. Staff was awesome at answering questions and helping. Easy check in and check out. Not too far from town but remote enough to get away from it all. Nice having drinks by the pool. Awesome to have drinks by the pool on the beach and be able to watch sunsets.

Main pool was a bit crowded at times. Buffet food was ok, but not fantastic. Did appreciate the 3 nice dinners and that was good food. Overall not much that could use improving.

The concierge told me they had a « welcome breakfast » to present interesting deals for guests but it was actually a sales pitch to buy a timeshare. The sale representative simply came with us at the breakfast buffet to do her sales pitch. It took us almost all day and it was literally a scam. They are not related to the resort. Be ware of that. They target women specially those who are not traveling with husband or boyfriend. The resort should be more transparent about this. If you ever sign this timeshare contract and you have doubts, make sure to cancel in the 5 days window, if not you will lose your down payment.

Close to the beach. amazing nature, clean resort amazing food. all you need in one place. easy to get access to boats and rental cars and taxi.

the isolation in the room could be better. all sounds went through the door.

We just loved our stay in Occidental Cozumel. We really felt like at home. Rooms were spacious and beds were incredibly comfortable. What I loved was water pressure in the shower and that water never went cold. Thank you very much for the whole animation team (Jesus, Dalibor says hi!) and also bartenders in pool area. We loved you guys! Food wasn't perfect but we still enjoyed it very much. With drinks you can basically create anything you want with any alcohol you want (if you asked they give you even more expensive alcohol). We loved the drink called Cozumel Paradise, try it!

My friend got watch stolen from the room. Which was pretty much the biggest bummer.

The food was the best of any resort we stayed at. Also, we liked that it was quite south of the main town and somewhat secluded. It also had a nice pool and beach area with beautiful water.

I cannot stand the constant attempts to get you to sign up for their vacation club and waste vacation time hearing a sales pitch you have no interest in. This needs to stop as it ruins the enjoyment of staying at a resort, being hustled by huckster "concierges" who are really salesman try to get a commission by roping you into a sale pitch meeting with the promise of 'gifts' meaning discounts on various things. Not enjoyable to have to dodge them every time you go through the lobby. Also, a la carte restaurants should be open more.

Beach and pools were great. Most of the staff were very helpful and courteous. It would be nice if the front desk had some change for large bills instead of just sending us to the hotel store that quickly ran out of change. Makes it tough to give tips to the wait staff. The wait staff were very attentive and we never lacked for a cool beverage. Food was fairly good, could have used more seasoning, mostly buffet style. Rooms were very nice and the staff kept things tidy and clean.

Resort was fairly far from town which turned out to be a bit of a minus if you wanted to do some quick shopping, but it also meant that it was nice and quiet when you wanted to nap a bit. Take a bit of extra cash if you want to make the trek into town.

Beach is beautiful. Layout and grounds were beautiful. Staff was excellent and willing to please.

Small things but didn’t like having to wear bracelets and making reservations for most dinners but they did make it convenient to make the reservations.

The room and property were great, staff was very friendly

The food was very much lacking. The presentation of the buffets was nice, but the quality and taste of the food was pretty bad. Also, the quality of the drinks seemed to depend on where you got it from or who was the bartender (i.e. pool bar drinks were very good, but pool restaurant were horrible)
