Our stay at Las Palmas was great! The room was quite big and super super clean and the place is so cutely decorated with loads of plants. Rooftop patio is also a bonus and you can watch the sunset from up there. You can walk to loads of restaurants in the area and the beach is about a 15 min bike ride. You can rent bikes at the place too which is handy. It’s definitely cheaper staying in this area compared to the beachfront and you most definitely get a more local feel.

Can sometimes be a bit loud at night with dinner parties and music but this tends to end early anyways around 10pm and it didn’t happen every night.

we are very pleased with the hotel. the building has a very atmospheric design, the only thing we didn't like was a parrot trapped in a small cage :( the room had everything it should have, a comfortable large bed, nice bedding, air conditioning, a fan and a fridge. the hotel staff was very helpful and friendly when we got wet clothes and asked for drying, it was arranged in a few hours with the delivery of dry clothes to the room :) at the reception there is a bicycle rental included in the price of the accommodation. In addition, on the roof of the hotel there is a wonderfully decorated roof - tables, flowers and a small pool / large tub. The hotel is in a quiet area, unfortunately quite far from the beach, but easily accessible by bike.

Clean everywhere, open sky kitchen, rooftop patio with views, quiet local area away from the tourist center, plants through the shared spaces, beautiful sounding soft chimes at entrance, lovely energy. The room came with a complementary bike to use, and it was only a 12 min ride from the beach!

The location was extremely hard to find the first time as the original address was written wrong by booking.com, then it was also wrong on Google maps. No body soap in the shower. My room had no window on the outside wall of the building, just a window facing the hallway/kitchen. So I had to go down that hall or up to the rooftop to see outside.

the property was in a great location in the quieter side of Puerto Morelos but only a few minutes walk to plenty of restaurants and a 10 min walk to the big supermarket. the staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the shared kitchen had everything we needed. there is a fantastic roof top area complete with sun loungers if you didn’t want to be at the beach all day. the property also had free bikes available.

the only thing that was really lacking for me was that there was no hairdryer (but I knew about that in advance). would also have been nice to have a couple of chairs/stools on our balcony but overall, no complaints.

two things: 1) if you are in a balcony room and it’s windy, expect it to be loud. there is no weather stripping on the door so it whistles in the wind. 2) When we arrived, there was food in the fridge for the last guests. I didn’t mind, I just planned to throw it in a garbage outside the room. We left to go get groceries and when we returned, the food was gone. but only the left over food, nothing of ours we had put in was touched. I was weirded out by it and started to think, maybe the people that stayed in the room are still on the property. Later that day, someone tried to enter our room. the doors are coded and he knew the code. the only good thing was that we had our deadbolt in place. It was clear then that the last guests of the room were still on the property and entered our room while we were out. what a violation of our privacy. we immediately asked for a code change for our door as well as my family’s door who was staying in a separate room. this is nothing against the staff. they were lovely and when we explained what happened, they immediately agreed to change the code. I just can’t imagine ever walking into someone’s room and getting your left over food when they are out. how rude and violating.

that it had a shared kitchen. the smart tv was handy that I was able to temporarily login to my Netflix. they kindly replaced the batteries on our self locking door. the lady that managed the place was very efficient. because of the language barrier. it was handy that I was able to write what we needed help with and they kindly replaced the kettle’s base, so my boyfriend could have his tea, and fill up his thermos to have more later on. I liked that it had a mosquito net on the window in our room but none in the shower room.

it needs more hooks to hangs things as it’s a beach area, people needed them for hanging towels and swimwear etc. we improvised and removed hanging things and used those hooks on the wall. the place was mopped once while we were there for four nights but even though my stuff at stopped dripping the wet patch wasn’t mopped up so I had to wear filp flops so I wouldn’t get into bed with my feet all wet. I don’t understand why it wasn’t mopped. I don’t like being wasteful and using tissues and there was no cloth to dry it. it was annoying that area was not mopped up. it wasn’t there fault that there was blaring music for the three nights of the four because of the festival but it was a shame it wasn’t petitioned against it being in that location near where people lived. It was also not right that the blaring music could carry on till just before 4am.

We really liked the roof terrace. It has a nice view and many different chairs, tables and plants to sit with a beer and enjoy the warm breeze and starry sky (during the day it would be too hot, there are no umbrellas). We had to option for an earlier check-in and also leave the luggage for two hours after check-out- The guy working in the reception room is nice.

The building is under construction, so on the upper floors the rooms are not finished yet. It's a shame they are investing in expanding, while the existing rooms are in such a bad condition. We booked two rooms for the same price: one had a balcony, windows to the street and two french-size beds. The other one was facing the patio and only had one bed! I slept in the one with only one bed, so my comment is about this option: It was not possible to really get some fresh air in and let the air from the shower out, so there was a constant smell of moist. In the night the glare of the corridor was very annoying (the light went on as soon as something or someone was moving and shone directly through the curtains onto the bed), also there was music until 2:00 and some very loud other guests. The bed was very small for two persons and the sheets felt like plastic. All in all very cheap equipment, the security lock didn't make a safe impression and I would say the price is too high for what you get when having one of the majority of rooms that face the corridor. It's not even that the location would justify the price, as it's far from the beach.
