Mysterious and beautiful little Riad in an incredibly unique location. I was the only person staying there which made for a slightly bizarre experience but Halima can speak excellent English and made me feel very welcome. A driver collected me from the airport and then the girls from the Riad showed me the way to the building for the first time which was most welcome as at first it appears difficult to find. It is in fact not difficult to find and is an extremely good location. It's also incredibly quiet at night and my bed was very comfortable. Breakfast on the roof terrace is a delight. All thanks go to Halima though for her friendly charm!

The only thing I would have liked a front door key and I would have liked to have seen a bit more interaction with the owners or managers of the property.

Amazing and helpful staff. Room was perfect for the price, an absolute bargain and a lovely breakfast in the morning made the stay (once at the property) wonderful.

The location is in a barely accessible series of alleyways. Neither Google Maps nor Booking.com directions take you down the right way. We were arriving in the evening and it made the 45 mins circling the place and going through dark alleyways quite uncomfortable. I think the main way to enter was closed for works, but some information NEEDED to be provided about how to access the property. Other than that, the place was wonderful!

Riad La Mederesa was very aesthetically decorated in a Moroccan style, the staff was extremely accommodating, friendly and helpful. Everything with a smile on their lips. We were greeted with cookies and local tea. The room was quiet, clean and pleasantly decorated according to the local architecture. We felt hosted at the highest level. There were no problems with anything. Only getting to Riad is a tourist adventure but only the first time. Nevertheless, help is offered every time in this regard if someone could not get there. Breakfast on the rooftop was delicious. A large selection of unique local pancakes, desserts and spreads. Plus delicious mint tea, something hot and freshly squeezed juice. You can't get a better deal. We recommend wholeheartedly!

The staff was super lovely, very welcoming and helpful, we got served tea on arrival and felt very at ease in general as they made sure to help us with any questions. The room was super cute, and we slept really well! As you can tell from the photos the riad is authentic and has a really nice vibe to it. Felt like a really special experience. Wish we would've stayed for more days!

It was a little bit hard to find the Riad, but we just called them and they came out to meet us and helped us find the way - so no complaints really, just make sure you can contact the staff when close by, or tell them to meet you somewhere at a specific time and they will sort you out.

The property was very difficult to find at the first time and also at night. You go through narrow and dark alleyway and tunnels like. But once you get used to it you find it interesting and fun. It is also very quiet, a place where you can sleep. The girls working in the property are nice and helpful.

The room was very small, so small that it had not space for suitcases. No place for hanging clothing, however it had a bulky piece of decorative furniture instead of a functional one. Same breakfast everyday and focused on sugars and carbohydrates.

Everything was good. Rooms, staff, personal. We stayed 5 days and very happy

only issue is access to the rias. You have to walk through extremely narrow paths ways (much smaller than usual paths in the medina) and even though there are lights at night it is a bit apprehensive. But we had no issues with safety walking through however. Also as we were there in February, there was no heating in the main courtyard downstairs where we had breakfast so we were wearing our coats

It was overall a fantastic experience. The manager, Noureddine had a very polite, friendly attitude and was very helpful. He was on time when we were dropped off by the taxi and walked us to the Riad and then gave us a lovely reception with mint tea and Moroccan biscuits. He made us amazing breakfasts even when we had to leave early for our day trip. He would sometimes walk us at least some of the way to new local locations so that we didn't get lost. He was very nice to have conversations with. The food was great and good value for money. We had breakfast every morning for 6 days and dinner twice (all traditional Moroccan food). The in-house Tagine was exquisite and had more meat compared to local restaurants. The decor was beautiful and the Riad was surprisingly quiet, cosy and friendly. The ladies working in the Riad were also helpful and always smiling. The orange juice was always fresh and tasty, and the bread, and were croissants fluffy and warm).

The location was a little bit tricky, being buried in a lot of small and dimly-lit alleys, but it wasn't bad at all. The manager walked us there the first time and, after filming a video of our route, using landmarks and getting used to it, it was completely fine. It added to the charm and experience of living in the old part of Marrakesh. We would choose the Riad La Medersa over a generic and impersonal hotel in the European part of Marrakesh and would love to come again.

Well where should I start? It is my first time in Morocco, I travelled 47 countries until now, I’m travelling alone and I would say, meanwhile, I have a huge experience with Hotels and Hostels. I booked Riad la Medersa due to the positive valuation, the pictures and the location. When I arrived in the night, Abdul picked me up from the taxi which he organized for me as well. So I arrived safe in the Riad. Abdul speaks multiple languages which makes everything easier. The Riad was super clean, totally comfortable with a wonderful Interieur and the most wonderful, friendly and helpful staff working there. I felt soooo comfortable in my little room (sometimes you have this feeling like „I’m home“ when you travel and I’ve had this for 100% in my little room / in La Medresa) that I extended one more night and I will even come back after my travels trough Morocco to stay for my last night in Marrakesh there. the Riad is located in the Medina. although some people here wrote that it’s very hard to find - come on, you all have cellphones with a map and if not after 2 times you’ll find it easily without getting lost. it’s located in a very small side street but even the way to the riad is spectacular- especially in the night :D Abdul, Noureddine and this lovely girl (I’m so sorry I forgot the name) are incredibly nice and care a lot that the guest feel comfortable! The breakfast was typical moroccan and made with love every day. Super delicious!!! I’m looking forward to Thursday for my last night bow but not my last night forever in La Medresa. highly highly recommended!

There is really nothing to complain.

Noureddine made our stay above and beyond our expectations. The breakfast was amazing and he made everything possible! We arrived late and he was waiting for us to take us to the riad (cars enter all the way to the riad) and would have been impossible for us to discover the door without him! The place is very clean and quiet. Thank you for making our stay memorable! You are a true example of hospitality!!! I would come back and stay here again just because of him.

The entrance to the riad can seem a bit dangerous/weird but after 2 times you are good to go! Noureddine told us the city is safe for tourists and I didn't feel in danger for sure! So just go with it and save the entrance of the tunnel in your phone

Very kind host. Good breakfast served from the cosy (mostly enclosed) roof terrace. We really liked the interior of the common rooms and bedroom. The rooms, although small, offer all the comfort you need.

The place is incredibly difficult to find. Even after reading this in other reviews, we weren't prepared for how difficult it was. From a side alley starting from derb zaouiat lahdar, you really need to take a couple of left and right turns through a series of alleys that partially run underneath other buildings. At no point did we see a sign that indicated this was the way to the riad (it only has a small piece of paper on the front door itself). We arrived late at night, so this felt a bit sketchy.
