The localisation in the Downtown is superb, most of atractions and good cafes and restaurants as well as money changers or mobile services is in walking distance from hostel. The ambience is basic, loft style, clean. There is a good privacy inside the dorms. The hotel staff is super helpful f.e. with bus ticket booking or giving pro tips for local transportation. They have theire own restaurant and the rooftop space open till late evening, which is very convenient in the city, where almost everything closes before 8am
Nothing to complain about.

The dormitory set-up is good, with super comfortable bed mattresses, cozy space boxes, and quiet, sensical lighting. I might think twice about 'good' if the large dorm rooms were full because there isn't space between bed boxes.; your neighbor's flatulence would be not only an aural extra but a fragrance bouquet. The staff is super friendly and accommodating to the customer’s needs. There is a good, positive attitude amongst the employees. They seem happy to be there. The cats in the reception are good value, one curmudgeon and one mischief maker. Cocktails in the ground floor bar are good value, and decent food is served. Lots of greenery out front.
Some of the self-conscious graphics are a bit much and could be toned down; the white-on-white-on-white act shows dirt and stains. Still, it has the feel of a well-branded identity and social commitment. No elevator--with the steep staircase, pity the fool who carries heavy luggage, Hood might consider installing a cardio-defibrillator on the landing and stair slide to shoot the coronary cases down to the waiting ambulances. The dorm rooms could use a few coat hooks and slightly larger lockers. Communal bathrooms have some design flaws; they could use a good cleaning to rid the mildew, and please dump the concrete sink thing—a lousy idea from the start.

one of the best hostels I’ve stayed at - I really hope the country sorts itself out soon so the tourists will come back and get to experience this place! amazing community concept, fresh/cool boho decor, ideal location, top quality restaurant/bar attached, super helpful and attentive staff and best of all the most gorgeous dogs greeting you on arrival! Laura, Luka and Lyla oh and the beds are ridiculously comfy, towels provided too and I honestly think it’s the first time I’ve ever noticed the strong smell of freshly cleaned bedding in a hostel - better than at home 😂
not a bad word to say - booked to stay again in a couple of weeks time

Cleanliness was maintained. Staff was very responsive, attentive and gracious.. They also helped me book a taxi and bus ticket and advised on my trip itinerary with regard to safety due to the political situation t. The dorms were spacious and the design of the dorm bed cubicles gave added privacy and the beds were comfortable and bigger than the average dorm bed and good quality. The location was also perfect. Not too far from the main sights.
One of the shower heads in the female bathroom on the 1st floor made a very loud noise when the water was turned on. I hope they fix it and not let the hostel facilities slowly breakdown because the hostel is great.

I really enjoyed my stay here. The young staff were very attentive and helpful. The dorm beds were comfortable and the AC worked well. It's well located and a grab from the airport is only 4 USD. It's also but a 5 minute walk to central station where you can jump aboard the circular train and enjoy a 3 hour journey for less than 10 cents..lots of cheap food stalls nearby and the breakfast which is cooked every morning at 8am is lovely. The surrounding area and indeed the whole of Yangon is very safe and easy to walk around. I can't recommend this hostel highly enough .
Perhaps a better area to socialise outside the dormitory.

The team was extraordinary friendly and helpful. The interior layout of the hostel is nice, especially the roof terrace. For such economic price, even breakfast is provided, which is a very nice surprise. The location is great, right in downtown, with an interesting, colonial style surrounding.
The rooftop terrace is quite hot during the day, not possible to stay there during the day (even in November, which is one of the cooler months), only evenings and mornigns . It would be good to install at least a fan on the terrace, or elevate the terrace roof. For the lockers the hostel could/should provide locks for borrowing (against a deposit, like in other hostels) The cleanliness could be improved, especially as the hostel also serves as training facility for hostel staff. Therefore the highest possible standards regarding cleanliness (dust, kitchen, etc) should be taught and applied.

Staff is extremely attentive. Unbelievably helpful with booking buses, tours, anything you need. There were always 3 or 4 eager staff members to help out with whatever I needed.
Not that it's any fault of the hostel, but the price displayed on booking.com doesn't represent the "black market" rate that most people exchange their USD for. The ATM's and government changers don't give you the same rate as the "black market," so instead of $12 a night I ended up paying around $16. Just something to note- maybe put that in the description of the hostel.

The location is great, room comfortable, clean & safe, the staff is even better! I’m splitting my trip with Yangon as my first & last stop of a 2 week Myanmar trip. Originally I only had booked HOOD for my first 2 nights in Yangon & subsequently booked with them again before my journey exits Myanmar as Yangon is my entry & exit point. The staff was able to hold some of my belongings while I’m gone, help with potential bus tickets & give me solid advice as the country currently has foreigner restrictions. I look forward to staying & seeing the wonderful, helpful staff again before I leave Myanmar after 2 wks!

The staff was absolutely lovely! They're so attentive, kind and helpful. They're delightful to interact with. The hostel is really top notch. The beds are very clean and cool and very private. There is a lot of common space and the bathrooms and showers are very clean and good. Breakfast is very tasty and good value. Overall, excellent quality for a good price.
Nothing to complain about. 10/10 experience truly.
