A Beautiful Hotel with a Special Feeling We had a wonderful time at this hotel. It is in an old building with a lot of charm. Our room was beautiful and nicely decorated. There was even a freestanding bathtub and a handwritten card waiting for us – such a lovely touch! The staff were super friendly and made us feel welcome right away. The hotel is in the center of the city, so it’s easy to walk around and explore. We also enjoyed the hotel bar – it’s a great place to sit, eat, or have a drink. Everything was perfect, and we felt very comfortable. We would love to come back again!

The hotel is perfectly situated. The interior is lovely and 'feels' special. I stayed in a studio suite which is in a different building next door. It was really tastefully decorated, and the bed and bedding were AMAZING. The breakfast was good value, and the evening snack menu items I tried were delicious, but the menu is limited just FYI.
Disappointingly the Chromecast facility didn't work on my TV at all (disappointing as there was something I really wanted to watch live). Also, the underfloor heating downstairs was so powerful that the clothes in my bag on the floor got really warm, as did the room. There was no way to turn it down / off. I did ask at Reception if they could do so while I was out, but nothing happened. The aircon unit upstairs did work at least, so sleeping was ok, but the downstairs room remained too hot for the entirety of my stay.

Very elegant boutique hotel located in the centre of Deventer, close to central markt place and railway station, however quiet. Very friendly staff. Amazing breakfast.
Stairs are quite narrow and steep (due to the old building). Breakfast was gorgeous, great variety of high quality food, served individually. For someone in a rush, it takes a bit long, and it was impossible to eat everything which leads to food waste. Maybe a buffet for at least part of the food would work better?

Friendly and professional staff habitually greeting anyone entering the hotel bar, whether the people were going to sit and drink at the bar or formally check in. First impression of reception was excellent on this basis, along with the tasteful decor. Very welcoming to enter the studio with a record player playing old Christmas songs. Nice touch to receive bottle of cava, a handwritten welcome card, and Deventers-specific ginger cake tin. Amusing card under the bed, for those who like checking such things. Convenient location for queuing immediately for Dickens Festijn as you are just a couple of minutes away from the queue entrance. Room amenities were handy, and apart from Googling how to work the LG aircon, everything was easy to use and operate. Felt extremely comfortable and at home in the studio, which complemented the festive atmosphere of Deventer town. Would strongly recommend staying in Finch for the location, mood, and standard.
No sink in downstairs toilet. If we had known about this in advance, would have asked for a room with a toilet and sink combined. In some Dutch housing, this type of set-up exists, but not expected in an aparthotel charging 4 times the room rate due to Dickens Festijn. Would strongly recommend hotel to install anti-bacterial hand gel dispensers in such rooms. It is for hygiene purposes, especially as a woman. Soundproofing depends on your neighbours and how loudly they place their feet on the staircase outside the studio. We were woken up at 04:30 to the sound of a troubled individual pacing the apartment above for a good hour. Would improve definition of soundproofing.

Great location near the train station and the old city centre. The hotel generally had a good feeling and all the staff were friendly, helpful and welcoming. My room was a good size and well appointed, comfortable and clean. The breakfast was excellent and the food offered during the day and evening was very good.
As nice as my room was it felt cold and didn’t feel cosy. It was hard to get the temperature up to a reasonable temperature. I had to request an extra blanket. Perhaps a nice rug on the floor would have helped.

I did not take the regular breakfast, but had the Brekkie croissant. Excellent!
I was assigned a room under the roof at first. Very uncomfortable and hard to move in. After I planned to leave, I was offered a fantastic room and enjoyed it tremendously. There is hardly any place to hang something....

Breakfast was very good. Location super. Closeby trainstation and a short walk to all the sight seeing of Deventer.
A very personal wish, I like to have a window open and/or good ventilation. The air conditioning worked perfect, but I turned it off because I don't like dry air. In this room on street level there was no window to open and I didn't find another possibility to increase the ventilation. Maybe as a result of that we wake up with a soar throat. But after a good coffee everything was okay. As said already; maybe a personal thing and maybe on the other rooms this is different.

This was my third stay at Finch, and, as always, I enjoyed my short stay (only one night). The room I got was on the top floor and very spacious. The room was equipped with a 2 person couch, one double bed and a small work area, besides a spacious and comfortable bathroom. The layout of the room is clever and decorated with great taste. There were plenty of rooms, one at the work area too. There were different kind of lights and the main lights were dimmable, so you could create an atmosphere fitting to the time of day. The bathroom had a shower and a sink, and -very much to my liking- daylight through a big window (obviously there were blinds for those who prefer that, but there were no direct neighbors anyway). For the third time I can say: highly recommended!
There's really not much I didn't like about my stay. If I had to nitpick, I'd recommend the hotel to try and increase the water pressure of the shower.

Great design exterior and interior. Very clever concept touches I.e. Wonderful room welcome with jazz on long play vinyl playing as I entered. Breakfast superb. Staff excellent, attentive and very welcoming. I arrived at 1am, tired and fed up ( thankyou EasyJet😡) but Myrte & Seuu (sp?) we’re up waiting for me, extremely kind and welcoming, displaying the level of professionalism and service attitude you’d expect from Claridges, never mind a (fantastic) boutique hotel so a big thanks to them. Keep up the good work Finch. I’ll be recommending this hotel to as many of my peers as possible. A wonderful surprise experience set apart from the usually generic and soulless hotels I normally stay in for business

The bed was extremely soft, so that I really felt that I sunk in. The pillows were a little to high. The dustbins could be bigger. The breakfast was wonderful, the size of the room was nice and heavenly quiet, so was the aircondition. Kind people working in the hotel. So the only (small) critical topic was the bed. Thank you 😉
