The Abbella Lodge Motel was perfect for our family stay. The accommodation was comfortable, and the staff were great - around when needed and in the background, but contactable, when not. The location was perfect - a relatively short drive from the airport, a bus stop with regular buses into the city centre right outside, and with the added bonus of a large supermarket across the road. Would definitely recommend and return for another stay.

The apartment was quite modern, good size and well-furnished. It had all essentials, including a well-equipped kitchen and bathroom. Especially, we liked the bathroom, which was quite luxury, with a nice spa bath, gorgeous scents and a beauty set. The bedrooms were good size and cosy with comfy beds. The staff were kind and welcoming and the location was OK.

There wasn't anything we didn't really like.

The location was great, along the main road which makes it very convenient. Unfortunately, there was also a lot of ongoing construction work around the motel. Traffic in the morning is heavy for this area of Christchurch, must allocate more time for travel.

The male host (I believe his name was Mark) at the property could have been more welcoming during check-in. He appears to be having a bad day during check-in and was making comments that were half-sarcastic when we said that we were visiting family but preferred to stay in our own place.

We had a wonderful stay at Abella Lodge Motel. It was sparkling clean, and the staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. The facilities were excellent, with a baby cot and a well-equipped kitchen that allowed us to prepare simple meals for our 18-month-old, making it ideal for families. Highly recommend for a comfortable and family-friendly stay!

The room was cleaned to the highest standard we have seen. Beds were comfy and great location. Good high pressure shower.

The internet and therefore TV connection was very laggy and slow, we did like that the room included Netflix but the internet made it so laggy we couldn't load anything and used our own data. Also would like a range of pillow options in a room, some more firm and some thinner to cater for different peoples preferences.

Staff were pleasant and helpful. Everything we needed in the unit. Comfortable beds. Freezer best size we had in south. Milk in glass bottle not uht sachet. Requested ground floor and was accomodated. Immaculately clean. . Room met what was shown online - not deceiving. Not too far from town. Thank you. Would recommend.

Laundry available for use although a bit compact and $5 each load. Owner offered extra service going out of her wayn putting my washing in commercial dryer as 2 of us trying to use wasn't ideal. Thanks Sunny. Only thing that could improve would be a dishwasher and bigger TV screen and netflicks. These days we mostly have 65" tvs in our homes and go away to smaller. The TV here was bigger than most so definitely in the better tvs on our trip. Of course for the price was excellent value for money

The owners of the motel were exceptional with very friendly service. They went above and beyond for us with something we needed help with. Couldn't fault them. The room was perfect for what we needed, somewhere clean and comfy to stay. We didn't need to use the cooker, but this was a nice touch in the room as most usually just have a microwave if you're lucky.

Room 4 was comfy, bathroom recently updated bright, clean and tidy and a nice little kitchen area that you could prepare a simple meal, jug, toaster and microwave. Plus all the extras you need in a kitchen plates, cutlery, cooking utensils, frypan etc. Separate bedroom with a large queen sized bed, wardrobe, iron etc.

Nothing really - it was relatively cheap and very cheerful :)

The location was good, we didn't have breakfasts delivered

We couldn't turn into the motel from the opposite direction because of a concrete road barrier and had to go well past and turn around or go to a roundabout to come in the right direction.

The room was very good. Being a rear unit, was nice and quiet.

Another guest took a disabled carpark - clearly not needing it.
