Comfortable, quiet, cozy stay outside the centre of Christchurch. Whole house is decorated very lovingly, familial atmosphere as you see hosts and other guests everyday at breakfast for a little chat. Breakfast continental or cooked breakfasts prepared fresh for you. Hosts were very caring, gave tips for the area, you can pet the dogs. You park on the side of the road, no problem though as there was always space when we were there.

No critique but my partner said he didn't know the ceiling of our upstairs room and bathroom would be so low. As it's an attic room be ready to stoop a little. : D

We arrived in the early evening (off the train from Greymouth) to be greeted with tea and home-made cake. The hosts were very friendly and gave us information about Christchurch. A guest lounge allowed us to meet other guests. There was a good choice for breakfast, which was served in the hosts' kitchen / sitting room, adding to the sense of homeliness. Our room was comfortable and had a spacious bathroom (for our exclusive use) immediately adjacent. A good bus service into town was available, as was parking on the street outside.

A beautiful stay in a character-full historic house, beautifully restored that have enhanced its original features. The owners have certainly made this property An absolute delight for anyone that wants to stay in a charming historic property. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. We had the rear bath room suite, our view out the French doors over the wraparound decks out to the beautiful garden was outstanding. Our stay in the house were absolutely delightful such a welcome change from staying in soulless hotel rooms. I can highly recommend you Stay at this property

Great location, easy to walk or get a bus into town. The hosts were so welcoming and friendly, including two dogs! The breakfast was great, with both hot and cold options. The attic room was comfortable, quiet, and private. The hosts kindly let us leave our luggage there after checkout as we had a later flight. It was a lovely property. Would definitely recommend!

Our host Pam and her Partner were such lovely friendly people who made us feel so welcome. We arrived to a small refreshing afternoon tea served in the guest living room. Next morning a perfect breakfast presented on a table in the morning sunshine was great. Fresh orange juice, continental and cooked breakfast on offer with coffee/tea, toast and preserves. An interesting cottage full of interesting collections from the past.

Absolutely beautiful property, we were upgraded from the attic room to a downstairs room with adjacent bathroom. Love the early check in which is offered as standard from 2pm, we were offered home baking and tea/coffee on arrival. Pam and Denis were both very friendly and with their grandson running around it very much felt like staying in a family home. We were there on a rather chilly night so the underfloor heating in the bathroom and good shower pressure were appreciated. The bed is also very comfy and the breakfast delish.

Just be aware its a not an ensuite, but you do have a private bathroom, so not a bother for us!

Bathroom was not en suite. Though there was a picture of an en suite bathroom on the Booking.com website, that was not for all rooms. It's inconvenient and distracting to walk into a lit hallway to use the facilities in the middle of the night.

Something a bit different to usual booked accommodation - lovely historic home. Walking distance to Papanui shopping area. Looks beautiful when approaching from street.

Street parking. Parked outside neighbouring house so needed to transport luggage some distance. No massive issue but thought there maybe a driveway to unload from but there is only access from street via gate and path to front door.

Pam and Denis welcome you immediately and show you around. You then get a cuppa tea and muffin, and a chat, where you meet Ralph, the most gorgeous wee dog EVER. The crockery is gorgeous, the bed we sunk right into for a peaceful nighrs sleep and the shower was AMAZING. Heated towel rails, heated flooring and the best rain shower I've EVER had, along with an outdoor spa. Followed off with a free included continental breakfast 😋 It was just what we needed to relax after a rough couple of weeks 👍😊😍

Only thing we noticed was the hint of a moldy smell coming from the spa, when we were in it, alas that did not stop us from enjoying an hour long, well needed, soak in it

Quaint and beautiful. Host greeted us with a coffee and raspberry muffin. Accommodated our request to check in early. Nice location near the airport. Great host suggestions of places to visit. Fantastic homemade breakfast. Wonderful options cooked perfectly.
