Such a beautiful property located walking distance to town and a close drive to Abel Tasman. Lots of parking out front, clean and well-appointed kitchen, super lovely and helpful staff. For our family we had 2 private rooms that both had en-suites, comfortable beds, mini fridges, cutlery and dish ware, and coffee supplies located in the room. The back garden was large and very comfortable. The common lounge had a pool table, a book exchange, and the Xmas tree was a nice touch! Definitely would stay here again.

I would just recommend adding a shower shelf into the bathrooms so we don’t have to put our soap and shampoo on the ground! Other than that, great.

Excellent location and lovely gardens. Good value for money. This property has recently changed hands and the new owner is upgrading it. The old home is beautiful and has fantastic potential. I just needs some love. The kitchen facilities are great.

Get someone in to clean up the lovely gardens. Get rid of all the vines. Clean up the front by getting rid of the old caravans and motor homes. First impressions are so important. Throw out the lace curtains or cut them off at floor length. Fold back the doonas to show the white pattern which almost matches the curtains. Even those few things would make a huge difference with little money spent. The potential is enormous. It’s a great place.

I had a self-contained bedroom with ensuite at the back of the property in the garden and really enjoyed my stay. There was a toaster and electric jug as well, but used the communal kitchen for other cooking. The owner was very welcoming and helpful. The place was quiet and peaceful for my two day stay.

I would have liked to find a spare blanket and heater in the room as it did get very cold, but the owner happily supplied them when I asked.

Gorgeous property, seriously. The gardens look resplendent in the summer sun. I sadly didn't spend much time there, but everything I saw was very inviting. All facilities (inc. laundry) up to par. Didn't use it, but the kitchen looked very well-equipped.

Power points seemed few and far between which made charging devices a bit of a pain. The dorm was spacious and clean, but might have benefited from individual reading lamps? Not a real big issue at all though.

We had a lovely room in the garden with a balcony which was great to have a drink and read. The owner has invested so much time in the facilities and they will only get better. The shared kitchen had everything we needed and there was also a barbecue area. The accommodation was just a short walk from the main street which has plenty of shops/restaurants/cafes. I’d definitely recommend and wish we’d stayed for longer.

Very picturesque location. Walkable distance to Main Street shops. Probably one of my favourite places we stayed at during our trip. The room was very comfortable. I loved the outside space. The verandah was a great place to sit and there was lots of nice picnic tables in the garden to sit at. we stayed in one of the rooms outside the main house and didn’t really use any of the areas in the main house so I can’t comment on them much but the kitchen and lounge area seemed well set up.

The bathroom was quite small in the room we had. It would have been nice if it was bigger but it wasn’t much of a problem as it was still perfectly usable and clean.

Peaceful vibe at this hostel, perfect place to unwind after a day exploring Abel Tasman Park. Really lovely owner who welcomed us and helped make our stay feel like a home away from home

Communal bathroom needs updating and an extractor fan. Helicopters nearby started earlier than we would have liked (but obviously this has nothing to do with the hostel!!)

My private cabin was cozy and had everyting I needed. I had even my own veranda :-). Everything was very clean, the towels as well as blankets for the bed smelled fresh, the bed was very comfortable.

It is quiet difficult to get around if you don't have your own car. Nevertheless it is possible but just more complicated

Quick friendly Check in, lovely clean room. Comfortable bed and pillow and very quiet.

As there were no lounge chairs in the room you had to sit on the bed and with only one pillow each it was very uncomfortable leaning on the slattered wooden bedhead. Maybe a smaller electric jug would have been better as you couldn’t fill it from the basin.
