The first thing you notice is the scenery - a lovely short drive from Waitomo Caves, the little forest that the driveway winds through (where we think we spotted a kea), to the stunning view from the cabin itself, and the lookout slightly further up the hill. The warm welcome from the host (and the dogs). The cows, including 2 calves, were brought down to the yard in front of the cabin and guests could hand feed with hay. The cosy cabin itself with big windows to enjoy the view and the ethanol fire to keep you toasty on a chilly night. Various cereals, milk, yoghurt, bread etc provided for breakfast. The sound of the rain on the roof at night.

We're on a 3 week trip so we have a suitcase each which was a little awkward in the space. If I was going again I'd probably pack a smaller bag with just what I needed for the night there, and leave the big cases in the car.

No rating is high enough for our stay at Nadarra Hideaway! We rented both the cottage and house rooms for our family to stay. Generous and warm hospitality and a beautiful location. Wish we could stay longer. Short drive to glow worm caves, ideal location for that. Photo is sunrise from the scenic lookout, on the random day that we were there. Truly beautiful.

The roads around the property are well-paved, but they have lots of twists and turns. It's a hilly rural area: take it slower than the speed limit.

We stayed in the cabin and it was wonderful. Super private, clean and comfortable. Breakfast is supplied in the fridge, so no need to go anywhere. The view over the valley is great and the location is so quiet... and dark at night! The Milky Way was visible right out the front door, which we enjoyed looking at on the patio chairs provided. Our host Jamie was great, even allowing us to do a load of laundry using the machine in her house.

The sign at the street is small and difficult to read from a vehicle. Don't trust your GPS map app when you arrive, as it will take you to the wrong address (the one next door). Be sure to look for the small sign to Nadarra Hideaway. The neighbour next door says it happens all the time!

The cabin ist very cosy and absolutly quiet. You can only hear the birds and sometimes the cattle around. It provides perfect privacy. The bed is very comfy, so one can have a good nights sleep. The view (even out of the bed) is spectacular. James is a very friendly and helpful. She is a phantastic host.

Maybe that there is only little space for the luggage in the cabin. But that didn't affect our weel-being.

This place is AMAZING! The cabin gives the feel of glamping with an amazing view, a mini fireplace, and the wooden interior design. The bed was really comfy and the breakfast was great with a variety and fresh jams. My partner and I needed some help to use the fireplace (as it needed to use oil), and the owner was really kind to give us a hand. We were also greeted by cows, sheep, and one friendly dog when we arrived, which was really nice!! Would have LOVED to stay longer and I'd highly recommend this place especially if you're a nature & animal lover.

Jamie and her family were very nice and welcoming hosts. The upstairs rooms were very well maintained and beautifully decorated. We used the well appointed kitchen and BBQ to prepare our breakfasts and dinners and enjoyed them on the patio with beautiful views in the evening sunshine. Jamie even provided us with fresh eggs from her own hens. We loved the quiet location with the beautiful garden. Our daughter especially liked the dogs and playing with Jamie and Grant's nice children.

We would have loved to stay longer.

Everything was wonderful. Our host Jamie, her two dogs, and all of the sheep were very welcoming. Our cabin was cozy and comfortable. It felt like we were camping with all of the luxuries a hotel would provide. There was even a thoughtful breakfast nook in the cabin with cereals, milk, yogurt, bread, butter, jam, and coffee. We appreciated having a bite to eat before going about our adventures.

Nothing, everything was exceptional. :)

EVERYTHING!!! It was a paradise. Cows outside the cabin, a short walk up to see a beautiful sunset. Sheep, friendly host and their dog. So peaceful!!! Near the Waitamo caves for glow worms.

Loved it all. Some might tot like the trek to get there and no tv. But for us that made it all the more charming and allowed us to have deeper connection with one another.

The views were spectacular. Location was perfect and remote which we loved. Cabin was prefect inside. Staff were friendly and said we could use their house for cooking and using laundry (we didnt use either). Breakfast included which was great and sat in the outside area for. Will definitely stay again. Loved it here. Its off grid so a phone free zone which was great. All the wildlife around was so good to hear.

One thing that isnt wrong but a suggestion an outside light on the sitting area. We sat outside in the dark but couldnt see to get there need our touch on our phones.

I loved that we were in our own little private lodge with a beautiful view. Jamie left us a bottle of wine for us to celebrate our honeymoon and she even kept the mini fridge sully stocked/offered to restock the fridge with homemade goodies for breakfast during our stay.

This place was the most perfect stay that we have experienced since being in New Zealand so I have nothing bad to say about it. Keep it up Jamie and Grant!!
