Loved the room in this Pub, situated on the high street so very close to everything. Good parking, but on gravel. Dinner was really good only place in New Zealand with custard on the menu. Bar staff and proprietor were friendly and indulged us well.

Breakfast was a disappointment and very restrictive. It was continental but we had to order what we wanted and the weetabix was like card board didn't have coffee and orange juice included it was one or the other or pay. Toast we order we we cam in and given to pieces but meant one was cold by the time we got to eat it and would have been better if we could have done this ourselves.

A charming hotel set within a really characterful area. Our room was spacious and had all the comforts we needed for our stay. The breakfast was an added bonus and the staff went out of their way to accommodate our requests. The evening menu offers a great choice of delicious dishes. A hidden gem in a beautiful part of the world. Definitely recommend as a top choice.

We enjoyed our stay albeit one night. The staff were excellent.

We understood that the breakfast was a Continental but were a little disappointed that if you wanted an additional cup of coffee or another piece of toast etc. you would have to pay extra for any additional items. We have travelled extensively throughout the world and can say that we have never had to pay extra for such additional items when having a breakfast described as ‘Continental’. Having said this it is only a minor criticism.

The service at Rutland Arms Inn is exceptional. Every member of staff we encountered during our stay were warm and welcoming. The love and care taken into restoring and updating the Rutland to still reflect its heritage is evident in every detail. The room we stayed in was lovely and spacious, we found the photos actually made the rooms look smaller than they really are. The surrounding areas are beautiful too.

I liked the dinner I had in the Restuarant and both my breakfasts where exultant, I ordered slightly form the menue but the staff met all my requirements without a problem. I can always tell if the kitchen is on task by my poached eggs, they were absolutely perfect both breakfasts I had.

the car parks need lines painted so we can park straight and leave space or other guests. once one car is out of line it reflects down the line

Location was fantastic, good secure parking, very comfortable room. The evening meal we had was very good and the bar staff we friendly and helpful. Spa bath was a great unexpected bonus, as was the late checkout on our last day (but you have to ask for it).

Breakfast wasn't worth the effort, no chance to pick and choose as it was ordered from a very narrow list of options and came in the quantities they gave us- too much for me and not enough for my partner. The toast was cold. TV in the room was small and the remotes had nearly flat batteries.

the location in the middle of town meant we could walk to everywhere interesting. The bedroom was delightful - modern facilities with old world charm. The staff were all so friendly and helpful and the food was lovely.

The only slight hitch was that breakfast only provided one drink. Either juice or coffee/ tea and then only one cup. If you like tea (like me) then at least a teapot provides two or three cups!

Did not have AC (didn’t advertise AC) had air cool fan No lift; had to carry bags up an outdoors flight of stairs Had to wait 30-minutes to check in from our time of arrival. Check-in process is to announce your arrival to the bartender. In our case, the bartender forgot to send someone over to front desk so we could check in.

The room was amazing with the design of the rooms relating to time period of the Rutland Arms. Had plenty of room to walk around and the bed was very comfortable. The room was warm and at a good temperature. We ate in the restaurant for dinner, and it was great food. We had continental breakfast included which was so yummy and plenty that breakfast kept us going just about all day. Secure place to park your vehicle overnight too.

This is a lovely old Inn with an open fire in the bar/restaurant area. The staff were very accommodating. The room we were shown was large and beautifully decorated but the water radiator had sprung a small leak which we were not particularly concerned about as we simply turned it off as the room was warm in any event. But the owner insisted on changing our rooms and the room we were moved to was just as lovely. The meal was very good and the breakfast excellent particularly the kebble bread - yum. So close to everything. Definitely recommend this Inn.
